TERRIBLE experience! I was told my eye exam would be covered and so were my glasses considering they took my insurance which I made sure of when I made the appointment, to then get there be seen and they wanted 700 DOLLARS for 2 pair of glasses! While making my appointment I also made one for my daughter, also checking to make sure her insurance was excepted as well, it was. We were told we would have to pay $45 dollars for her to be seen with the kind of insurance she had, was perfectly fine with that. We get there and they tell us her insurance is out of network! Absolutely disgusted with the inconsistencies of lies that were told to just get us there. 0/10 experience will never go back and will never recommend to anyone. read more

My daughter and I both got eye exams at Stanton optical and to say that it was bizarre is putting it mildly. After filling out the patient history form on the eye pad they take you in for the initial eye checkup they tell you put your head here and put your head there, there will be a puff of air etc. etc. then they let you know you will be seen soon, just when I was called in to see the doctor it was an online "Doctor" on a screen, it's actually a virtual exam by a young man that looked no older that 20 years old. It was really awkward because the technician plays the middle man between the patient and the "doctor" on the screen. OK and here's the kicker the staff does not speak unless you ask them a question, the "doctor's" only job besides sitting at home was to say "better one or better two" there is nothing more to the exam, there is nothing more from the staff no questions like: Do you have headaches? How's your driving at night? Or ask my daughter how is your vision at school? There is ZERO basic human conversation from them. We felt extremely uncomfortable being there. I needed to update my prescription, and my eye doctor had a three-month wait, so I decided to go to Stanton Optical in Monroe on Independence Boulevard. I made an appointment for an eye exam and filled out my profile online before my appointment. The technician was very friendly and did all the pretesting pictures before my exam. I then went to the exam room and the testing was done for my prescription. After finishing, I returned to the hallway and picked out glasses. The technician called me back and said there was a problem with my eye exam pictures and that the physician would not sign off on my prescription because he saw a minor bleed in my eye. I explained to her that I see a retina specialist (who happens to be a surgeon also) and have had that for years. It's been stable, and I just saw him in September. She told me I could not get my prescription because the doctor would not sign off. I asked her if I would get a letter and bring it back and if they would release my prescriptions, and I was told yes. I called my retina specialist, explaining the situation to the office. She said it is a known bleed that has been there for years and has been stable. I told her I knew, but they would not release my prescription. She said she would talk to my doctor and called me back. She called me Monday and said she would call Stanton Optical for me. She called me back and told the gentleman there that they had no record on file for me. I told her I had an eye exam there and they held my prescription. I asked if she would put a letter in the portal for me, and I will print it out and bring it to them. So we returned with my letter from my retina specialist in hand, and then they told me they could not accept that. He casually mentioned that someone had called the day prior (remember that she told me they said they did not have me on file). The gentleman said if I got a prescription, bring it back, and they will fill it. So I went to Accuvision Eye Care in the mall (which was wonderful) and got a new prescription. I went back on Saturday to have glasses made, and the girl at the register told me that they were booked and that I should have made an appointment. At no time did anyone tell me that I needed an appointment for glasses. Now I'm frustrated with the location. I called the Stanton Optical South Boulevard location from the parking lot of the Monroe location and they said they had an opening in an hour and took me immediately. I met with Joe who was terrific. I told him about the saga at the Monroe location and that they would not release my prescription. He pulled my profile up and said that the physician DID sign off on my prescription. He apologized and said he didn't know why they told me he didn't sign off on it. He said it is right here and showed me where it was signed. I told him the Monroe office is a trainwreck and we will not return there. Joe was kind and apologetic for whatever we had been through at the other office. He said he would talk to someone about it. So if you need glasses, beware of the Monroe office. They are a trainwreck. Go to the South Boulevard location and ask for Joe. He will take care of you. His customer service was above and beyond. read more

Great first experience! I needed glasses made the same day, and I was able to get an appointment online within the hour. Super impressed with the staff's friendliness and willingness to help me. I did not get her name, but young lady that helped with my eye exam did a great job. Heather, the assistant sales manager, was so helpful when it came to thinking outside of the box regarding my new glasses. She was able to make me a pair of glasses that had balanced lenses, and helped me to see the best I have ever seen. I cannot thank her enough! Unfortunately, I was not very impressed with the store manager. That being said, Heather and the rest of the staff were fantastic. read more

I just picked up my prescription sunglasses which had to be sent back for a correction.This time they are just what I wanted and they're so much better than my old ones.So I have to give them credit for making things right and I would highly recommend them. read more

My father broke the nose piece off his glasses so we stopped in after a dentist appointment to see if they could fix it. They did and told us no charge. I would definitely come back. read more
