The staff were all amazing. The nurses were all very kind and attentive and listened to all my concerns while setting up my appointment and before meeting the doctor. By far the best doctor I've ever talked to, he was very attentive and validating of my concerns. I've been a patient here for many years. Dr Bunich is by far my favorite healthcare provider. I had a detached retina 15 years ago, but it can still trigger anxiety, as I'm an artist professionally and I rely so heavily on perfect vision. He always takes extra time to explain every facet of my exam and quell any fears or concerns. I genuinely look forward to catching up with him personally as well. They've given me additional contact lenses when I neglected to order on time, the staff is accessible and lovely, and it's so refreshing to have a Dr. that takes the time to facilitate a relationship and offer availability in any potential emergency. read more

I've been having issues with my contacts for a while since having had lasik surgery. My previous rye doctors wouldn't listen or understand when I said I was simply not comfortable. I called this place and told them my situation and the fact I was in a rush for contacts because my wedding was coming up on Saturday. They got me in, checked my eyes and soon after I had comfortable contacts. Everyone was super friendly especially the doctor. Over Christmas week I traveled to see family and lost my supply of dailies (contacts) in the process. When I got back to Charlotte, I realized the last pair of dailies I had were the ones I was wearing, It was the day after Christmas and nobody was open (my usual optometrist included). Felicia at the front desk was kind enough to offer up some daily samples in my prescription after conferring with the Dr. It was a really nice gesture when I was obviously in a bind. Dr. Bunich was so so helpful for me yesterday. I had a pretty bad eye infection that has stuck around for a while. He took his time talking with me about all of my eye concerns and answer all of my questions and seems super competent in his field. He told me I should feel 50% better the next day and about 90% the following day and so far he's been right. I definitely recommend his services. The receptionist was very kind as well! I spent $1,200 for an eye exam an glasses. 4 months later the glasses broke. Took them back and he fixed them. A couple of weeks later they broke again. I watched a video and was able to fix them myself. In January, I ended up in the ER and then the hospital. Glasses broke while I was still in the ER. Had no glasses the entire time I was in the hospital. Took them back when I got out told them they were junk and I need glasses that aren't going to fall apart. Had to purchase the lenses for $380 and left the defective glasses behind. When I got the new glasses, they included the bad glasses. I wore them twice and they fell apart again. The doctor and the optician insist it's my fault and no one has ever had this problem. I have worn glasses for 25 years and before this $800 pair only had one repair done on any pair I have owned. Totally don't stand behind what they sell and they sell junk for exorbitant prices. read more

I chose Dilworth Eye Associates by recommendation from a friend and I am glad I did. I was tired of reading glasses and needed help with close up reading as well as distant sight. I did not want just glasses but the option to have contacts for the first time. I cannot say enough great things about Dilworth Eye Associates. They are friendly, courteous, honest and quick! I used to sit at the eye doctor for over an hour and I was in and out within 45 minutes. The doctor was extremely thorough and I left feeling good about the appointment. James is a great optician. Very knowledgeable and helpful. Worked to help me find the best glasses that worked well with my insurance. And the receptionist went above ans beyond to get my insurance situated. She even called the insurance company and got what she needed. I have worked in a doctors office setting before and I am a tough critic - this office exceeded every expectation! Very unhappy with this office. The Dr. does not return calls and they are unwilling to work with clients who have needs which don't meet their paradigm, hiding behind "policy" and other useless terms to essentially rid themselves of having to do any work. "Common sense" and "customer service" are terms not within their vocabulary. If the doctor/patient relationship you are looking for is one where the patient needs to conform to the needs of the doctor, then this office is for you. If not, save your money and try Wal-Mart. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Bunich for about seven years, both at his prior office in Uptown and at his new solo gig in Dilworth. Dr. Bunich is a very good listener and I have never felt rushed during any visits. He is very thorough in his examinations and he always takes time to answer all of my questions. He also helped me research and pick a surgeon for LASIK, which turned out great I'm 20/15 now! The staff at Dilworth Eye are also very friendly and professional. I've never had any trouble scheduling appointments. I've even gotten in the same day when I had a nasty allergy reaction that left my eyes watering like John Boehner finishing Atlas Shrugged. I have recommended Dr. Bunich to many friends and co-workers and will continue to do so. He is without a doubt the best eye doc I've had over the years. read more

Dr. Bunich helped my extremely reticent teenager through wearing contact for the first time. He was unbelievably patient and encouraging. I had looked in vain for someone who had good skills with children after having failed with a respected ophthalmologist in town whose staff gave up trying to teach my son after :15. Dr. Bunich was our last ditch effort before giving up. His bedside manner with children is absolutely top-notch and I am positive that with any other provider we would haven't have the successful outcome we eventually had. Dr. Alex Bunich at Dilworth Eye Associates is AMAZING!!!!! He answered my emergency call on a Sunday afternoon and was at the office to see me within an hour!! I have never felt more comfortable and am so happy that Dr. Bunich was able to help me. Not only did Dr. Bunich treat my emergency, he helped me to understand the history of eye problems that I have had for years. This is the BEST eye doctor in Charlotte, hands down! This was my second and last time going to Dilworth Eye Doctor. The first experience was nice, however the second was awful. I purchased contacts through them and after a month I had not heard back. I called up there and Felicia, at the front desk, informed me they had arrived but my insurance did not cover them. My wife and I tried to explain there must be a mistake. Felicia got loud and rude and explained that she didn't make any mistakes. My wife and I both call the insurance provider and find out they were trying to file my insurance benefits for another person with my same name, not me. We called back and explained this and instead of apologizing and fixing their mistake their medical biller got on the phone and spoke down to my wife explaining it still couldn't be done and that she just doesn't understand medical billing. FYI my wife is a certified medical coder for a big orthopedics practice, that's the only reason we knew exactly how to fix this. She deals with insurance all day everyday. We had to finally have our provider VSP call and explain to them how to fill out the forms correctly, because they refused to help us and told my wife "call VSP then." The worst part is that no one ever took responsibility for their mistake, they never offered an apology. I almost lost an entire year's benefits because they did a poor job. It was the worst experience I have ever had at an eye doctors. I would highly recommend finding somewhere else to go. read more

My eyes are getting old. I cannot read small writing anymore, even if my arms were longer. I have been in denial and have put off going to an optometrist because ....I'd have to accept that I too am getting old. I had asked some friend whether they knew someone. Dr Bunich's name came up immediately. Accepting I needed to go, I called and was pleasantly surprised they could fit me in that day. The 2 people I talked to on the phone were courteous and helpful (which is uncommon now a days). The office is conveniently located on East Blvd in Dilworth. Easy in and out. Paperwork only took a minute and I was immediately brought into an exam room. Dr Bunich was also in in a minute which I appreciated. (I hate having an appt. then waiting a long time.) He was very nice and chatted me up during what could have been a monotinous exam. He was very thorough and I felt comfortable with his diagnosis. In fact, I was surprised to hear that the glasses rx'ed would NOT be reading glasses like the ones from Walmart that I had been borrowing from my wife, but regular glasses (not bifocals) that I can wear all the time without looking down my nose to see over them. As a side note, when checking my retinas, which usually require dilation, I was offered the option of using a slick camera ( think $40 more) which allows a picture to be taken without dilation. 1)it was just cool-DrBunich shows you and talks you through the picture, and 2) I could go back to work without losing my depth perception. I did not have time to take the afternoon off. I was able to order some stylish glasses there, I. C. Berlin.(remarkably bendy and step-on-able without breaking). The lenses are scratch proof, shatterproof, anti-glare, and transition lenses which turn into sunglasses if outside in the sun. ( I know this is pretty standard, but it still think it is cool) I should be getting them tomorrow, because I think they make them In house. All in all a very pleasant visit. This is the best eye care place and I'm so happy I came here. Dr. Alex is very knowledgable, thorough, and understanding. The entire staff is welcoming, warm, and friendly. Dr. Alex wanted me to be fully happy and satisfied with the prescription and exam. I've never had an eye exam that was so thorough. Most exams are quick and just another appointment. But with Dr. Alex, he spent time going through the results, explaining which options are best and what's going on with my eyes. It was very refreshing to also be educated about contacts and have an eye doctor take their time to show you and explain the process to you. I would definitely refer others here. My sister and I both go here and also got out dad to come here as well. He was also very happy. read more
