ZERO STARS. This was worst eye experience of my life. They do virtual exams and did not disclose that information when booking. My appointment was at 10am and I didn't get out of there until 11:30 after they performed a faulty exam that gave the incorrect results for a prescription. What a freaking joke. To top it off my husband had a 10:30 appointment and was never seen. The bald caucasian man was extremely unprofessional. He called my phone harassing me after my insurance card was provided to them multiple times. After calling back he gave me one name and quickly told me a different name. This place has horrible reviews online for a reason and I wish I checked those before deciding to come here. Do yourself a favor and run far away from this place. They did a great job. The staff were friendly and helpful. I've never done a remote appointment before and at first was a little shocked by this. But the technician who did my eye testing was very patient and helpful. My prescription turned out very well. I also found out that I needed reading glasses....oh well lol. Glad I found out tho. Worst customer service we have ever received even after spending over $800. Received the wrong contacts which was not a big deal we went back in to give them back and have the new ones ordered, one member of their staff confronted my self and my children asking who gave us the contacts, I truly thought she was joking because she was the one who gave them to us. She is rude and unprofessional and customer service as well as the owner are a joke addressing it. This lady should never be allowed to work with customers. It wasn't just one person she has done this to either. We were treated so poorly we are moving forward with a lawsuit! Good thing we recorded most of our interactions. The frames are good. The service below miserable. The salesman knows less about glasses than I do. Didn't fit the frames, Didn't measure where the focal point is. Had no idea when I asked him. I pick up glasses, he hands me the cases. Didnt fit them, nothing. Like buying cheaters at the drugstore. I'm bringing them back, my eyes are too important for this dollar store eyeglass hut. Had a free exam with a buy 1 get second frame free and it was still $428 for my daughter's glasses. They told us they'd be in by 2 weeks. It's been 2 weeks and I just called customer service. They said they JUST arrived at their lab and will be shipped back to the store in another week. From all the bad reviews, I just hope they are the right prescription. I have two family members who recently used Stanton Optical for their eye care needs. The service they recieved from Romina was so top notch that I booked a appointment for the same day and I was not disappointed. Romina was very welcoming and kind upon my arrival. She was helpful and highly informative. You can tell she cares for her patients and loves what she does. Even when the store got busy she made sure to help everyone in a timely manner ensuring they're happiness before they departed. The rest of the staff was efficient and helpful. I wish I would have read the reviews. They say the exam is free and the glasses are buy one get one free. I ask how much are the glasses and they said "$179" well that's only for the frames. The lenses are 90 plus 50 for insurance and 45 for anti-scratch when it was all totaled it was $500 for two glasses. I was so confused. Then I asked when can we get them and they said 2 or more weeks. I asked why the sign outside said "Glasses made in under 30 minutes" she said "That's if we have the prescription in stock". So I guess they are not made, just assembled -if you're lucky it is in stock. Mine weren't in stock. I should have paid for the zoom exam and gone to Costco. read more

This place is a bait and switch flim-flam operation. The eye exam was good but after telling you the exam is free with BOGO purchase of frames and that the exam is $59.00 itself, they then tell you that if you don't like their frame selection, and buy on the spot, they charge you $90.00 for the eye exam, instead of the $59.00 price you signed for. When I called them out on this the manager said the $59.00 didn't apply to their store because it is a franchise store and NOT a corporate store. Classic used car lot approach to sales. By the way, the frames and lenses they priced out for me totaled over a thousand dollars!!! Honestly, such consumer practices are not just illegal but ensure I will never return. I stopped in this store the other night before closing to see if i could get my glasses fixed. Broke the arm of the glasses in the am when cleaning them, and the new store mgr was very professional, friendly, curteous the entire time. He looked to see if the arm could be ordered, but then he replaced it with a sample in the store. I was 100% pleased. Will definetly go back for another pair when insurance allows me to. It used to be my eye lab, we continued to go there for 3 years it was always new staff, never saw the same person more than 1 time in 3 years, the service was decent. It's now Stanton went in for the yearly exam. Will not ever return to them. I'm sorry but your concept and complete lack of customer service will not get you any business. Look elsewhere for your eye care needs. Also there is no doctor on staff, it's done via video always a very deep foreign accent which made it difficult to understand and it seems they continue with this concept. I'll spend my insurance elsewhere, that has a live in person doctor. Lots of options don't choose this one. Poor customer service. read more

My boyfriend and his family came here to get glasses since Eyelab takes their insurance and the copay's pretty cheap. I get my eyes checked regularly back at home, and I've been with my eye doctor for 10 years now. I know a good eye place when I see it. And this is not one. It was really weird because the eye exam was done by a doctor through a screen. She wasn't even present!!! And when she was having them choose between "1" or "2," she went so fast. I was like "how do you expect someone to choose when you go so fast?" And how is an eye exam done through a screen with no doctor actually present going to be accurate? I really question the accuracy. The glasses frame selection was pretty bad too. Stuff that looked and felt really expensive was like $30, but then the stuff that was flimsy and looked cheap was $100+. My boyfriend had a really tough time picking one he liked. And I was looking through the women's selection and couldn't find a single one I would wear. What pissed all of us off the most was that they messed up all the copays and pricing for the whole family. While the parents and the two brothers only paid roughly $30 (since insurance covered the rest), my boyfriend was charged $60. But everyone did the exact same thing? When we went back to ask why, we were told that the parents and the brothers were all charged wrongly and that my boyfriend was charged correctly. Which doesn't make any sense because HOW DO YOU MESS UP CHARGING 4 PEOPLE??? So they only charge 1/5 of the people correctly? That's bs. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend going here. Go find a place with a better frame selection and a doctor actually present. read more

Took my own frames and new prescription in to the McKinney location in December. Paid for the service of creating and installing new single vision lenses in the frames. Heard nothing and after a month started calling their 800 number. Every week for two months I was told they were "delayed" and someone would call/text when they were ready. In the 3rd month, I went back to the local store and got the manager to check, again told they were delayed. Called that manager every week for 3 more weeks before I FINALLY received my frames and lenses over 4 months later. HORRIBLE service and reps at the 800 number know nothing, and there are no published phone numbers to reach local store. Will NOT return! read more

Finally got mine correct after contacting a manager and getting a second opinion from another location optometrist one with an actual person. I contacted corporate and they told me my order was delayed by weather . I was told by the person who done my order that I would receive a phone call nope no one called me at all I called myself . Come to find out on the box my glasses had been at this location since December 22,2020 ! Well I have put in a complaint in to Tx Attorney General. I will never ever go back here ever !!! My experience was great. Since getting my new glasses from Eyelab I have noticed a few changes. Not only can I now see, my hearing is so much better. All my senses have been heightened. Food tastes better, my A1C is lower. I even got lower rates on my car insurance. I have also noticed I am enjoying new genres of music too! MISLEADING- GO SOMEWHERE ELSE There is a lack of transparency as soon as you enter! The 'free' exam is done virtually and there is no physical optometrist at any of their locations (cheap). This was never communicated to me. The 2 for $59.95 promotion is bogus as they only provide you with a limited selection of glasses that are tacky and cheap. FYI- The prescription charges are priced higher and SEPARATELY from any promotions. The employees are inconsiderate and are not willing to listen their customers. If I could give then negative stars i would. Got two pairs of glasses from them, 1st, they were so expensive it was supposed to be a deal but either way they came out double the price from what I usually pay in other places when I get two pairs. 2nd, for the price I paid one of them broke within a month of having it, and yes it was the most expensive one out of the two that's broke . I took them a couple months later to see if they could fix them but they said they had to order a whole new pair and I would have to pay even though they broke within the month of getting them they didn't value the 30 day policy. Anyways I order it again. Well its been two months and the frames had not gotten here. The lady had told me they would shoot a text when they arrived but either way I kept checking the order status and it said it kept getting delayed. TWO MONTHS ?! For one pair of frames that didn't even have the glass !!??? Something that was supposed to take the longest a week to arrive took two months. Anyways I called the store and the most rude girl answered the phone with such a HORRIBLE attitude. Keep in mind I was not rude to her nor did I tell her anything bad I just simply told her I wanted a refund. Then she proceeded to tell me my fames had gotten there a couple days ago ??!!! OKAY and how am I supposed to know that the frames are there. No text to call no email NOTHING ! I proceeded to tell her I didn't want them anymore I just wanted my money back she then rudely told me I had to call back when I manager was there. Okay then what is your job if you can't even do a simple refund ? Okay well i called back today and as soon as I asked for the manager they were "transferring my call" then they hanged up on me. Its not fair some of us spend hundreds of dollars on their products for them to turn out cheap material & for the people working there to be rude & unprofessional. Management please do better. Don't bother visiting this place. Virtual eye exams that are very flawed. I went in for glasses and had an eye exam with a "Dr" via a monitor. When my order came in, I went in to pick them up and immediately noticed my vision with them on was horrible, the person working said it will take a couple of days for my eyes to adjust, which never happened. I went back to have the issue fixed and was told they would send them back out to the lab and have them set to my old prescription. It has been 3 weeks since they sent my glasses back to the lab and no one knows what the status is. I'm not sure why my prescription was set back to my old prescription but not very happy with this establishment. I should have stuck with my regular eye doctor, but was just trying to save a little money since I was laid off during this pandemic. This place is absolutely horrible. Their customer service could not be worse. If you have any issue, good luck reaching the store-- the phone number is routed overseas to people who barely speak English and even when they say they will transfer you to the store it just circles back to the main line. I would know because I tried five times on my way to the store yesterday, trying to let the store know that I was on the way to pick up my order, but that I would be a few minutes past closing and ask them to let me in. Since I couldn't get them on the phone, I showed up and knocked on the door. The lady by the door did sign language -- moved her hand across her throat -- and mouthed that they were closed. I did sign language and mouthed that I had been trying to call them and I knocked again when she ignored me. She once again did the motion and ignored me. I kept knocking until another lady came to the door. She told they were closed to which I told her I had been trying to call them my entire way there, about 5 times. She said, "we never received those calls" -- to which I said I KNOW, THEY ALL WENT TO YOUR CALL CENTER IN INDIA!! She finally let me in and it took them all of 5 seconds to find my order and hand it to me -- way more time than it took for them to argue with me. They, of course, didn't offer to have the frames tried on or measured -- which I didn't care at that point, I couldnt be rid of that place fast enough. Also, as a side note, their $59 for two eyeglasses is a total joke, there are only a few frames in the store that are "eligible" for that price and they aren't nice frames.
