Joe met my father at his current condo in CT to review the current furniture and get a better idea on what will be needed to be done. He provided a price, and my father had nothing but good things to say about his overall demeanor and enthusiasm towards our upcoming move to the new condo. Worst moving experience ever! Not only did they delay us by a day after we left a deposit but they showed up at 3:30 in the afternoon when they were scheduled to be there at 11 AM in the morning. There was also absolutely no communication with the owner. Even after we texted and called looking for them. They didn't finish moving us until 930 at night and didn't even put the beds together. They scratched my grandmother's piano, my dresser, my dining room table, my TV stand, they ripped the back of my sofa and a mattress, and added some dance to my brand new refrigerator. We heard the owner complain about not seeing his kids many times through the day while they rushed moving all of our stuff. Very unprofessional,siderate, And cheap. You get what you pay for. I used My Family Moving to load a 10'x10' storage unit into a 7'x7' POD and I was amazed with the results. If competitive Tetris were a thing, these people would be the world champions! Everything was packed with near-perfect precision. I shipped it across the country, and the contents of my POD arrived with no damage. They were also fun to be around and talk to. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL, UNTRUSTWORTHY AND DECEITFUL. POOR, POOR COMMUNICATION. HIRED them last month to move one table, 6 chairs and a small wet bar. Charge was $500 to a town 40 minutes away from them. They charged our card immediately. They were supposed to deliver the furniture on a Saturday but didn't. They ended up delivering it on the following day and only after we threatened to call the police on them. Then they agreed to reimburse us $100 but instead, used our bank card again and illegally withdrew another $100. We had to cancel our bank card before they took out any more of our money. We called, left messages,, texted and emailed them more than 30 different times. They never answered. read more

Do not use this moving company. They still until this day have art work that my mother gifted me for our wedding. I have called Joe since October to get it back. He sent me an image of it in his possession but has since blocked my number and stopped responding to my texts. I was very patient, offered to pay for shipping the art from CT TO NYC, offered to drive to pick it up. Joe just continuously mentioned he would "next week." During my move with My Family, my bed was ruined and I had 4 stools go missing in the process. I was fine with those two other things given I felt he was an honest, kind person and I'm a reasonable person. But he is quite the opposite, I have begged for my art but Joe and team are very sadly MIA. If anyone has a chance to get them on the phone, please ask him to do right by me and send me my art work since we paid, tipped and bought them snacks during their time with us and it's only right. I needed help moving furniture plus a piano out of my parents' house and onto a truck to drive back to my own home. Joe was quick to respond and fit us into their schedule. When they arrived, Joe and Nick were were a great team--very professional and careful. They not only packed our uhaul up quickly and securely for the long trip home, they also moved other cabinets and furniture out to our garage, to help my mom prepare for loading what she needs to in a storage pod. I would recommend Joe and Nick anytime, and we will definitely call them again when we need help with upcoming rounds of moving. read more

Joe and his crew were great. Came in and went right to work. They were very courteous and respectful of my property. A couple IKEA pieces didn't make it but Joe put them back together for me. Joe and his team are great! I have used them twice and have not had a problem. They were reliable, reasonable and responded every time I reached out. No damage to any items. I'm not sure about these other negative reviews, not at all the service we received on 2 separate occasions. We are mom and daughter and they didn't try to upsell us or move slow on purpose, They worked hard....3rd floor walk up in 95 degree weather and kept a positive attitude. We needed our old sofa removed quickly, and the MFM team responded quickly with a reasonable quote for same-day removal, arriving just a couple hours after our initial contact, and with us up towards the edge of their range. Quite, courteous, competent, they're good guys who saved our bacon on a delivery day. Extra credit for their readiness to accept PayPal. Excuse me? I rescheduled multiple times based on the landlord at the newer place. I was communicative with you throughout the process. You don't even have the decency to call me. You charged my card for 350 bucks for service I didn't agree to. I understood the deposit being nonrefundable but you charged me $350 for services I didn't use and then said your card system was hacked. This was 3 weeks ago now and I still haven't received my money. You also disconnected your phone lines - because you're a pussy and not man enough to fix your mistake. Couldn't have asked for a better and easier move. Not only did they do a great job moving all of my things off a truck quick and easy, but they did it no complaints in the rain. They were able to unload my truck and bring all of my things up 7 flights of stairs getting the whole move done in 2 hours. Great experience with My Family Movers. Joe and Dale were super efficient and super fast. They were able to move large furniture into very tight spaces without any damage. Most importantly, we were charged one flat rate and there were no surprise fees or per-item costs. Joe told me that his services cost $80/hour. Second time I called, he said it was $75/hour. His contract indicated $80/hour. Right after his work was done, he demanded that I pay the amount asap and in cash, right there. He would not accept invoicing and paying later. I did not have cash on me (he had failed to warn me ahead that he preferred cash), so I had to pay immediately through paypal, which cost me $50 more. After I parted with Joe, I realized that he overcharged by $50, of which I notified him immediately. He admitted the overcharge, but explained that he probably was thinking of $90/hour when told me the total amount, hence the overcharge. I told him that his contract stated $80 and I heard from him of not more that $80 before. He told me to request the reimbursement through paypal so that he could pay back the overcharge, which I did. I gave him a few days to pay. I never heard from him after notifying him that I sent the request. He never paid the amount. I am not going to classify this as anything, but these are the facts, and I will not only never use his service again, but also will tell everyone willing to listen what happened and report him to all agencies available for that purpose. read more
