I made a couples massage appointment after visiting this location 10+ times on my own. I've always had great or amazing experiences until today. I had a combo massage and there was barely any pressure on my feet or my back. The masseuse had too much oil on his hands, which I think made it difficult for him to get friction. At one point on my back, instead of pressing on my muscles, he was pressing on my spine. Another difference I noticed from past massages is that he didn't touch my arms at all, which has usually been included in the body massage portion. My masseuse smelled strongly of cigarettes as well, which was distracting. At the end of the massage, they told us that their card machine broke, and they could only accept cash. Based on previous reviews, this seems to have been an issue that began 10 months ago that has gone unfixed. The last thing I'll mention is that I asked for the manager or owner's contact information, because I wanted to explain the spine injury risk piece (in case this masseuse had been trained poorly). The lady at the front desk said that she could give me the owner's direct contact information but instead just gave me another punch card, which has the business' contact information versus any specific individual's. Because I can't contact anyone directly to provide feedback, I felt obligated to write this review so other future customers are aware of what they're getting into. I want to give this place more stars for all the positive experiences I've had, but I was so disappointed today and wanted others to know that the experience could be very hit or miss. read more

Here's what to expect: don't come here if you just got yer hair did, don't like people touching your hair, or want to have a relaxing massage. This is a standard Asian massage place where they beat the crap out of your body and enjoy doing it. The menu has changed from the photos, they now have a 30 minute option as option "A". I arrived at 8:30pm on a Saturday night and was asked if I had an appointment. I did not. They sent me away, saying that they close at 9pm despite the fact that their website and Yelp says differently. So I called Sunday, made an appointment, selected option B which is an hour reflexology "with only 10 minutes spent massaging your back". I was ok with this because I have an ongoing lower back issue. Upon arrival, they stuck my feet in a warm bucket of water while he massaged my temples, top of my head, third eye, rubbed my earlobes and stretched my arms. He kept yawning during the entire 1 hour appointment and burped. Then, he took my feet out of the water and left for about 3 to 4 minutes to dump the water out. He then returned, put oil all over my feet, shins and calves, then did "reflexology" by rubbing his fist over and over and over up and down the inside of my foot arch. My feet cramp easily so I had taken some magnesium pills before I arrived, thank God, otherwise my feet would have cramped. This isn't acupressure in certain areas of the foot to get healing, this is "let's see how much pain you can handle". Even though I gradually pulled my foot away so that I looked like a frog, he just kept pressing on rather than paying attention to what my body was trying to tell him: "enough!" He then massaged my shins...be sure to wear clothes that you don't mind getting oil on. After doing both legs, he left again for a couple of minutes, this time returning with hot towels to get all the oil off my legs and feet. Then, I flip over (despite not being able to see this in the photos, each chair actually has a face cradle in it), where he proceeded to stick his elbow on the muscles around my SI joints (low back near tailbone), buttocks, hamstrings, back erector muscles, shoulder blades, etc. He finished the 1 hour massage by rubbing the hell out of my neck with no cream or oil, so I literally thought my skin was going to come off. Look, I've lived all over the world and have had massages in Russia, eastern and Western Europe, Asia, and several parts of the U.S., so I'm not complaining, every style of massage is different, just want you to know what you're getting into. I read the other reviews beforehand so I knew they preferred cash and a 20% tip, but when I gave him two $20 bills, he just pocketed it and said "thank you!! See you soon!" Instead of asking what kind of change I'd like/ tip I'd like to give for a $30 massage. That's the part that felt shady...so 3 stars. I realize this type of massage is some people's thing...the more power to you, brothers and sisters...I prefer something that I can actually relax in. read more

I've been to a few other foot massage places, and this was my best experience at one. First, free parking in the U-District - wahoo! Then, helpful and friendly welcome. The usual good prices. Now to the biggest part - there were privacy curtains between the beds, which greatly helped my sense of peace and privacy. I visited this establishment 4 times and each experience has been either poor/mediocre and/or terrible. We are from LA and we found this place thru yelp. We had Michael and Sunny. I was amazed how strong Michael 's hands are but very soft. I had to tell him to be softer. My husband is very picky because he was never satisfied . We only found good one for foot massage in LA. Now we found one is seattle. After we finished, the first thing he said was ohhh she's so good. She, sunny, has soft hands but strong. My husband told me he was so relaxed after the massage. He was actually full of energy again. Dudes. I have had a *lot* of reflexology. A lot. From NY to LA, Dallas, Portland, Cincinnati, Boise, Seoul, Hanoi, Taipei, Bangkok - You get the picture. This was, by far, the weirdest, least satisfying reflexology ever. The beds were hard and uncomfortable, the woman didn't use much lotion, and she was disorganized and distracted. She jumped back and forth all over my body, paying too much attention to some spots, very little to others. She complete skipped my face, hands, and toes, and then used her knees on my ass and back. Reflexology is pretty predictable and the routine is usually the same, which is why I seek it out after a day of travel or a night of drinking. But man, this was not good at all. Would not recommend this particular woman. Two stars for cleanliness, quiet atmosphere, off-street parking, and the fact that they took me as a walk-in at 11 am on a Saturday. read more

Great massage! I got the 30 min foot 30 min body and it really made me feel amazing. My massage therapist started with pressure points and massage on my forehead, temples and scalp while my feet relaxed in a warm soak. Nice smelling lotion, seemed very natural like essential oil, not too perfumey. The rest of the foot massage was great with reflexology and good firm pressure. During the body massage she worked out some tight muscles in my neck and shoulder from sleeping on it in a bad position. She really helped me! I went there with my daughter (a college athlete) yesterday for a foot massage and was asked if I had any special requests. I've been to the one next to the UVillage on NE 45th Street, which was really not very good - employees don't seem to be trained, they are talking the whole time, the beds are near the door, employee break area behind a nearby curtain. All in all not a great, relaxing experience and it's hit or miss as to how you are treated by the employees. Other reco is Beijing Herbal Foot Massage which is great - all employees trained exactly the same and it's an excellent foot massage. Though the last time I went the guy fell asleep while massaging the feet, could hear him snoring then he would suddenly wake up and continue with the massage. So every few minutes no massage, snoring, then continued massage! So...I was happy to find MY FOOT MASSAGE. The person does an amazing massage, very focused, attentive and very clean place. He took 20 minutes on my head. My head. And then when he touched my face his hands were so sweaty omg, I immediately came home and showered. He lathered on an insane amount of lotion and literally just rubbed my feet. Then when turned over, it was light pressure, just rubbing. I ended it, said I was done.
