Paid just shy of $100, with tip, for food and drink at a NYE party at Sister with My Friend Fernando as the pop-up chef. Menu was posted ahead of time and printed for the table. A couple of the menu items never came (hello quince & champy and red kuri squash torta??). Our server said that the chef combined those items with other dishes that we were served, but, like, where? Chalky corn nuts; salty, meh halibut tostada;burnt pork Milanese drenched in too much oil, which no one at our table wanted to finish; and missed / miscommunicated menu items made for a disappointing meal and a bummer for our first time at Sister. We love pop ups and fun, new, local foods, but unfortunately My Friend Fernando was a flop.

Everything we had was creative, perfectly crafted, and absolutely delicious. I still dream about the focaccia pizza. What we got: Frankie's Gunn was one of the specials--and I'm so glad I picked this one. It was unique and sumptuous. A wonderful, balanced flavor profile; a savory pizza with some sweetness from the caramelized onions and ricotta, with sesame seeds to provide a bit more complexity. Definitely try this one if it's available on the specials menu. Johnnie B Goode was a high-quality, perfectly executed, delicious pizza. The flavors epitomize what great pizza is about. Quality sausage and sauce. Fantastic crust (as you'd get with any pizza here). The focaccia pizza was phenomenal and a must-try. Piping hot and perfectly baked, with a perfect ratio of bread to toppings. The focaccia was pillowy inside and crispy outside. The staff was super friendly and clearly passionate about what they do. I suggest following them on IG @evolutionbake to get updates on their pop-up plans. Trust me--it's worth the visit.

I got two pizzas because I assumed they would be on the smaller size although one actually was good enough to fill me up. I got the Johnny B Goode and the Brooklyn. Very tasty, they use quality ingredients and the dough is delicious. Glad I tried it out and it was fun to do during the pandemic. Will definitely try again.

Wow quite simply a vintage lover's dreamland! I have been…read moremeaning to visit this little gem. And I finally got my chance this past Saturday. Simply put these ladies have a great eye for vintage and have a vast array of items. It is all here for the taking from vintage handbags, gloves, jewelry, hats, slips, dresses, beaded sweaters, skirts, and other items too numerous to mention. All the items have carefully curated nothing smells fowl or of mothballs either. The items are displayed so beautifully too! The owners Claudia and Lucy are so knowledgeable they really know of what they are selling. I was thrilled with their inventory. Never have I wanted so many items which is rare for me and vintage! I am quite particular of what I buy and collect. I was taken with the quality and the reasonable prices for their wares. The store was having a red line sale this past Saturday if the item has a red line across the price tag it is 50% off! I walked out with two vintage purses for a mere $ 12.00 each. You cannot buy a brand new purse for that price and not of such quality either. Lucy invited me to a cocktail reception that her and Claudia were hosting from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. I was impressed with their customer service and the ambiance of the store I will be back. I signed up for their email list as well. That way I have first dibs on upcoming sales and promotions! Happy hunting gals! I was hesitant to give such a glowing review as this is such a treasure in Oakland. I don't want other girls grabbing my must haves! But this place deserves a 10 star if it was all possible. Thank you Lucy and Claudia for welcoming me into your store! I will be back in the future.
