I can confirm their shrimp burrito is excellent. I also love that you can get a choice of black, pinto or refried beans in it. Their ingredients always taste so fresh and never make me feel weighted down after eating. Chips are included (seems to be rare now) and are nice and airy. Employees always are friendly and nice. Well that was the most disappointing experience I've had in a long time. I stopped in with a a friend to grab some lunch to go, went in and ordered at the counter. The person working behind the counter was nice and that's about the best I can say, aside from the agua fresca being delicious. Our orders were both inedible, cold to the touch and one order was completely incorrect, unless their chicken looks like steak. Sure I took them to go, but I drove less than 2 miles away so I highly doubt that this was customer error. Giving them a few months to settle in before I make a stronger decision on the restaurant. We waited 25 minutes for our order of 2 burrito bowls and 4 street tacos. It wasn't too busy, but this was just the first week. Unfortunately the taco order was completely wrong and we didn't notice until we got home and opened the food up. Even though the taqueria is close by, we didn't have time to wait another half hour for them to fix it. Carne asada is the stand out protein. The pollo, rice, and beans could use a blast of flavor. $5 a taco is a lot and hurts more of your order is wrong. read more

I've tried this place a handful of times and I don't see myself ordering from this place again. Today we ordered an Al pastor burrito today and it had barely any meat! See my pic for reference. It's basically a bean and rice burrito. That totally wasn't worth $18! Also, I dislike places that use the smallest tiniest sauce holders possible, they gave just one green and one red. I could have asked for more but it's also not good for the environment. It's giving cheapppp vibes. It's a pass for me guys. We've been back here several times since my first review, and I think Glenview Taqueria has worked out most of the issues that were apparent in their early days. I still think both the shrimp tacos and fish tacos are excellent--the fish and shrimp are perfectly cooked and delicate, with a great overall flavor. I could just order these and be perfectly happy. On an earlier visit, the al pastor burrito had scarcely any pastor in it, but on our most recent visit, the burrito had plenty of pastor, and it tasted good, too! The pollo asada burrito was also more satisfying on subsequent visits, both in terms of flavor and the balance of the ingredients inside. The "medium" red salsa that came on the side on our most recent visit was also quite good, and worked well with both the tortilla chips and when adding it to the burritos. We look forward to coming here more regularly. Also, I have not seen the guy who was working the register and taking orders on my very first visit there, which is fine because his communication skills were odd and he was kind of rude. But customer service has been great on every visit since then. To respond to the owner's response to my original review: For whatever reason, It wasn't crystal clear to me back then when looking at the menu that guac only comes on the super burrito, but in my defense, when I was asking that guy who took my order to leave sour cream off the burritos, that could have been his cue to inform me that sour cream (and guac, for that matter) only comes on super burritos anyway--that would've cleared up any confusion, and then I would've ordered the super burritos. read more

This place is great! What a fantastic addition to Glenview! First off the place is very clean, kitchen totally visible, with a simple no frills decor. I eat vegetarian and they were very accommodating (don't be misled by the simple menu, burritos can be made vegetarian, and there is a super option too). Pinto and black beans are both fully vegetarian which is rare (and delicious!) The place was poppin when I was there, great vibes and happy smiling staff and customers. But of course it's all about the food which was amazing!! Everything was so fresh and tasty, large and satisfying. It was also not greasy and not overly salty, and tasted fresh and healthy. The tortillas used for the tacos are homemade there, as well as all the salsas. You have to try the Veggie Quesabirria, even if you're not vegetarian. Yum! I tried both the beef and portabella mushroom versions, and honestly, both were incredible. So so good!! I came on their grand opening last month and HAD to come back for the carnitas tacos. The carnitas tacos were served on a fresh tortilla with pico se gallo on top. My new favorite Mexican spot in Oakland and it's in a good location, despite the limited parking on Park. I had a burrito bowl, surf n turf style and it was absolutely delicious. Portions are sizable as you can see, the shrimp was perfectly cooked and both shrimp and asada had really good flavor. Everything was so fresh, the chips are salted perfectly, and I love their salsa. I had a deep red one but they also have a verde which looked good but I didn't taste. I got this via Door Dash today because I tried it yesterday in person, it was that good that I ordered it today. Love having a taqueria in the neighborhood. And that they stay open through the afternoon since I never know when my lunch time will occur. Inside is an open space with a large fridge with lots of drink options including what looked like a very nice selection of canned beer (not on a workday but I will be back). There are a couple of small tables and chairs inside with a long bar to the side with barstools. They also have a couple of small tables outside which are really great to enjoy the sun. The menu is pretty simple tacos, bowls, a surprise of loaded fries, etc. Tried the fried cod, beef and pork tacos and really enjoyed the house made tortillas and fresh toppings and especially the pickled jalapeno (YUM). Our favorite was the pork taco but we are ready to go back and try the vegetarian options. Salsa comes in mild, medium and spicy and the medium is great option. Super friendly staff too. I dropped in today for a burrito after seeing all of the positive reviews and unfortunately I was disappointed. The place is nice and clean and their salsas were good, the customer service was fine but my problem was the food. And what makes this even more painful is that the food wasn't bad at all. Actually each element of the burrito was pretty good. The rice was tasty, the beans were just fine and what little steak I did get was good. But that was the problem, there was VERY LITTLE steak. And the fact that the burrito cost me nearly 15 dollars makes that an even bigger problem for me. I kept taking bites thinking ok the steak will be in the next bite, but it never came! The attached picture is halfway through the burrito and it was still mostly all rice and beans. By the time I got to the end there wasn't even that pocket of meat that you get when a burrito isn't properly mixed when it's rolled! There seriously was that little meat. If you are going to serve burritos in Oakland where there is a plethora of options you need to not skimp on the meat. I am not asking for the burrito to overfloweth with meat I just want a burrito that isnt all rice and beans with a dash of meat. I tried it and got a burrito for $22 which seemed high to me especially because the beef must have been an inferior cut because of the amount of gristle.
