I walked up to ask the guy who was working if he had a particular type of lawnmower. He replied no we don't sell lawn mowers went inside and locked the door. It was a horrible customer service. I was trying to ask him a question and he just walked off. I assumed it was a shop that sells lawnmowers because there are so many in front of the business. Lawn mower wouldn't start, so I brought it in. He charged me $120 and I picked it up a couple hours later. I'd gladly pay an expert to rebuild the carburetor and be mowing my lawn later that afternoon. If I ever have a problem, I'll come back - he doesn't mess around. This is a 1970s style shop. Just a man behind a lot of mowers in a dark room. Pros: he will fix your mower fast, same day for (my mower had an oil leak). Cons: fella is pretty rude. Won't answer any questions or even let you in, he will handle your business on the sidewalk. For me as long as I get my issue taken care of fast i don't care, so I'm giving four stars, but you get the picture. read more

Our church and my family have used this repair shop for several years. Kevin's prices are fair and his work is always good. Granted, the shop is rather messy and he is rather quiet but I guess that's part of the romance. The other repair shop nearby always quotes "two weeks" which won't work for us. I have used them 5 times in the past 3 years. they are close and not very.busy.thats the good part there is a nasty old man that grunts alot and barks when he talks. everything they fix lasts about 20 minutes before it breaks again. he has worked on my lawnmower once chipper twice and tiller twice. every trip.is $100. no matter how small. Not sure what to make of this store. I went to the store today to buy a diaphragm and gasket for a 4 HP Briggs & Stratton engine. Was able to get it but was charged a flat rate of $12 and given no receipt. Same item sells for about a 1/3 of the cost online. Gentleman working was very curt and provided one-word answers. The positive is they have parts and handle repairs. The negative is there really is no customer service focus and the prices are high. read more

I had a great experience here! I have an old basic Honda mower which would sort of start by then die. I brought it in late on Saturday morning. The young man said he would look at it, and call me back, maybe the same day. (I had called earlier in the week and he said it would be a week or two to fix.) He is not very talkative, so you have to ask questions like how much will it cost, and when will it be ready. Well, he called back around 2pm and said it was ready. This was fantastic as I could then finish my lawn work on Saturday. On pickup, he had me start it to demonstrate, and it started beautifully. He also fixed the blade clutch, which had not worked properly for years. Cost $100. I took it home and plowed through grass up to 18 inches tall, with no problem at all!! The name on the business card is Kevin Chiem. He is a young to middle-aged man, so I assume that he is a different person than the older man mentioned by previous reviewers from 2015 and 2016. Conclusion: He does not talk much, but sure can fix mowers. read more

My experience with walnut creek lawnmower was terrible. All I wanted was to get my chain saw tuned up before I did a small cutting job on my house. When I went to drop it off I went at 4:30 on a Thursday and they were closed( online and at the door it says they are open till 5) so I wasted a whole trip out to walnut creek for no reason. Motivated by my dad to give the place another chance I went back at an earlier time and dropped the chainsaw off. The cost was 95 dollars JUST FOR A TUNE UP which I thought was ridiculous and he tells me it would be ready in 1 week. Fast forward a week and my dad goes to pick up the chainsaw but it is not ready. Fast forward another week and I finally get a call from the man working there that the chainsaw is done. So I go and pick up and chainsaw and I take it home. When I get back I try to use it, but it does not start. Completely frustrated by this whole process I set it down to take a break when I get a call from walnut creek lawn mower that they had given me the wrong chainsaw. When I picked up the chainsaw I recieved no explanation for the mix up or the delay in review. You could not pay me to use this business again. read more
