So I stooped over the counter finally and asked him if he could help me. He was very gruff and asked what I wanted I told him I needed a key for my mailbox. He asked me to show me what he needed. I didn't know if he wanted me to come around the counter because he wasn't getting up. It didn't seem appropriate to go on the other side of the counter, so I stayed where I was and didn't know if he was being funny or what his issue was. And then I showed him the different parts to the box that I need and he said I would need a whole new lock to put into the box. So he gets up and gets the package of the set that I need. It shows a price on the package, but he said that's not the right price. I asked him so what is the right price and it was about a dollar more so. I said that's fine. I just wanted to get what I needed and leave at that point. Because he wasn't very pleasant at all. I told him I could pay with my debit card. So he had the machine in front of him and told me to tap my card which I did. Then I was surprised when he asked me for my pin number . Thank goodness, I wasn't intimidated and gave it to him. Instead, I leaned over Covered the number number area with my hand and put in my code myself. I just thought it was so odd and rude of him to ask me for my pin . I'll never go back there again. He seemed very bothered to have me in his shop, was so reluctant to get up from his stool, and it was very awkward when he asked me for my pin number.

The place definitely has that run down feel where REAL people do REAL work fixing things. The gentleman who helped me appeared tired and ill but nonetheless he soldiered on with basically one hand made like 3 sets of keys for me. And they ALL work!!! [applause] These people use the good ole grinder and have hundreds and hundreds of stock key blanks. AND they are cheaper than Home Depot. Fast! Catalytic converter stolen Saturday to Sunday overnight. Called Monday morning. Shop received…read moremy 2009 Prius Monday afternoon. Finished the work by 1pm Tuesday. Most of the shop was recently stolen CAT victims. Janice at the desk was very patient, clear, and generally pleasant over the phone walking me through next steps when I called Monday. She was more than happy to work with Geico on the claim. You just gotta call when your tow truck is loading up the car so they can make room in the shop in time to receive your vehicle. At the end, I paid my deductible out of pocket with Zelle. They have a QR code. I left with my signed, one page customer copy of the repairs and payment documentation. They quoted me $350 for this added rebar welding service as a theft deterrent. This is a separate charge from your insurance claim. A very welcoming younger man named Vincent (?) lifted up the car and walked me through the undercarriage work and the theory behind the rebar. He was honest and said nothing is a complete solution, but that in the years they have performed this service, only a handful of customer have come back with attempted theft incidents. However, in those cases, the thief only made the cuts and couldn't pull the converter out. So repairs are cheaper in the long run because it's a welding repair, not a full converter replacement. If you go through insurance that is also good news, because he said with tariffs and the war, prices are going up and it's increasingly likely your insurance will deem your car totaled just for the stolen CAT based on their rising repair costs compared to your older car's current value.
