We highly recommend My Green Home. We used them years ago to install a whole house fan and we were extremely satisfied with their ethics and workmanship. When we found out they also do ductless/mini-split HVAC systems we were ecstatic. We have been researching for quite some time, we were looking for a high end mini-split system that was quiet, reliable with a good reputation, strong support and warranty. We looked at many systems and companies. My Green Home and the Samsung system exceeded all our expectations. After this last summer we finally decided to put in an AC/Heat Pump system. Prior to this installation, the home was heated by the fireplace and there was no A/C. What I love about this kind of system is that it cools and heats very efficiently. The quietness of the system that Caleb recommended is unheard of (pun intended). I definitely recommend the wind free feature Samsung offers. We did not realize all the options that Samsung has on their systems. My wife did not want anything on the walls in the bedrooms and the cassette heads were perfect. We are able to turn on the heat or cool prior to arriving home and walk into a comfortable setting. Caleb is great at going over all the options offered. When it came to installation they assigned Esau and Josiah to do the work. It was a multi day project. Not only are they an expert in their field and professional, they also were very clean during the install. They also left the house each day perfectly clean even when I said don't worry about it, you are back tomorrow, LOL. Caleb and Maggie with My Green Home are amazing. We have a home in Lakeside and as everyone knows we get super hot summer months from July - October usually. Our house has solar, new insulation and a new roof. But in the summer months, our attic fan NEVER turns off and I am confident that is the biggest factor in our house getting hot and the AC kicking on by noon in the summer months. Our friend used this company a few years back and went with their 30" Zephyr Fan. Once I checked it out, I was sold. I called and talked to Caleb, who came out the next day for a consultation and inspection. From my first call to to the install, ALL under 5 days. Incredible service. I hired My Green Home to install a Zephyr whole-house fan. The staff were all professional, friendly, and easy to work with. Maggie explained the options, answered all of my questions, and provided a quote over the phone before they visited my house. After I got the quote, My Green Home sent an inspector to take measurements in my attic, find a good place for the fan, and schedule the installation. The installation was done in less than 2 hours, including cleanup, and there were no surprises on the price. I'm really impressed with the Zephyr fan. It's quiet enough that I barely hear it from my bedroom with the door closed, but it moves a lot of air. If it's hot inside and cool outside, the fan will lower the temperature by a few degrees in the first few minutes of operation. It also helps pre-cool the house and attic, so the house doesn't heat up as much during the day. read more

After getting multiple quotes, this is the only company I talked to that came in a reasonable price range. Whole House Fans should come installed at around $2k. I had multiple HVAC companies quote me $4k, and $5k, and up, based upon options. That's the number one point: these guys are experts, know what they are doing, already know all the options, we'll versed in the technology, and overall awesome. And as a result they can provide a value that other companies simply can't match. (I should note that I found one additional San Diego company that were using QuietCool fans and specialized in Whole House Fans. Their prices were good as well, but I didn't get a formal quote). The install went smoothly, with the guys taking good care to not create a mess. At any rate, I highly recommend My Green Home for your whole house fan installation. I DO think you need to put a thermometer in your attic, there are some wireless models from Lacross that are quite reasonable. Maybe buy it ahead of time and have them screw it into a rafter when they are up there. I went in after the fact. Basically you want to know how hot the attic is, and it's nice to see it cool down significantly after turning on the fan. read more

Simple yet amazing product, top notch customer service. I purchased my whole home fan from My Green Home about 3 years ago after seeing it demonstrated at the Del Mar Fair. My home air conditioning had recently gone out and the cost of repair/replacement was extremely high. In addition, running air conditioning really drives up your electric bill. Other benefits of a whole home fan is it's environmentally friendly nature, not only for our planet but also for your home environment as the fan replaces the air in your home in about 10 minutes. Last week my fan stopped working and today it was repaired on warranty by My Green Home's service technician, Esau who was very friendly, polite and professional. The only possible drawback to the system is that it is quite loud in my small home. I believe there is a slightly more expensive option that is a quieter fan, however I like the sound of a fan and occasionally use my whole home fan to drown out other environmental noises. My Green Home out of Carlsbad is an excellent choice when considering an alternative to purchasing or upgrading an AC. Our house is 4,000 sqft., we live in Spring Valley and on a hill, we have 1 AC; our bedrooms are on the lower level with no AC. Our AC is for the upper level, but physics our what they may hot air raises. So if we can move all the hot air out of the house and bring in cooler air through the bottom level and up through our house the better. My wife and I have been looking at getting a whole house fan for awhile. The fan vents the hot air from your attic and the rest of your house out the attic vents. Now don't worry the great people from My Green Home will walk you through the entire process, they will give you an estimate and options on the phone then set up a site visit, our Service / Sale Rep Caleb came out to our house to do a site visit to ensure we got what was best for our house. Then the Service / Install Technician Esau that did the install was extremely helpful and knowledgable. Both gentlemen Caleb and the Esau was very professional and cleaned up everything as if he wasn't even there. The install was a very clean install, the fan has two wireless switches with one of them having a timer and can be mounted anywhere you would like. The company ensures that their personnel that visits the house for site visit and install are COVID safe wear their mask. All they ask is that the homeowners are as well. I got a whole house fan installed back in September from My Green Home. Overall I love my whole house fan and had good interactions with My Green Home but was less than impressed with the installation. I figured that paying My Green Home instead of doing it myself is paying for the labor warranty that they add to the fan's parts warranty. The installation of my fan got pushed back several days due to issues my installer was having at a prior site. That's understandable but it was definitely a bummer having to wait several extra days during the hottest days of the year. After the installation was done, I realized that at least one of the screws holding up the great was broken when the head of the screw fell down and several others were completely stripped and not really doing anything. I also had to go back and add caulking between the grate and the ceiling because the installer missed a side. I was also unimpressed with the wiring as it was (in my opinion) lazily strung up an punched through a hole in my garage wall to an available outlet rather than neatly hardwired. So if you're a capable DIYer it may be worth it to save the $500 or so on installation and do it yourself. Like I said, good interactions with the company but the installation left me wishing I had done it myself. read more

I served 30 years in the Navy and our ships are equipped with similar units so I was very familiar with the concept. I invested significant time researching companies that installed these units. My Green House was hands down the most professional and knowledgeable. My initial contact with My Green Home was very detailed. Although as an engineer I already understood it.... I really appreciated to learn that the sales consultants were extremely knowledgeable of their products... The home inspection revealed that I required 2 additional vents on the roof to properly ventilate my home. Most other competitors may simple install the unit as is which will only reduce the fans capacity and overall effectiveness. The ventilation installation was easily arranged and completed while the fan was being installed. Very happy with the install. The installer was very professional, knowledgeable and he exhibited high quality of craftsmanship. He took the time to demonstrate the operating features and was in and out of the home in less than 2 hours. Folks, I have a brand new A/C unit, and a reliable Solar power system so why would I need this unit? SDG@E's Net metering will increase the price of electricity during peak hours of the day. It will affect everyone and many with solar panels. Even the best A/C unit compressors draw significant power as compare to the motor on these fan units. Solar batteries are a good option but at it's high cost.....a complete home fan system was the best option. Not only can I have my home ventilated at a low cost, it also removes odors during food preparations, provide sufficient and comfortable ventilation when you host parties and folks are in and out of your back yards. This unit allows you to cool the home down before you turn on your A/C until which reduces the A/C's overall power consumption. But do not be surprise when you feel the air flow through your house and find yourself using your A/C less frequently. My A/C was running prior to installation and I have not restarted it..... I can go on and on.... folks this is a great product and I am extremely happy with this small investment which will yield positive results well into the future..... read more

So I was at my sister's house one day in the midst of that crazy hot spell we are having in San Diego this fall (oh wait...it's still happening) she was getting a quote from these guys about getting a whole house fan. I came and hung out and asked questions because I don't see myself affording AC ...ever...so this seems like an affordable option. Basically...this is what i got from the conversation about why to go with these guys (versus buying from home depot and getting it done /doing it by ourselves)... the fan's these guys provide have double the blades which as a result makes the fan significantly quieter... i have been in home's that have the home depot fan ...and while they cool the home...they are like an airplane taking off! granted you only have it on for a short time to pull the hot air out of your house... so my sis got it done...and yes...it does work very nicely...and yes...it is significantly quieter...and if you have no intention of getting AC...this sounds like a fabulous option... i'm still not sure...i'm that girl who wants all the bells and whistle's...but at a deep discount... so i'm going to start hunting for AC deals during the off season ...and make my choice at a later time. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my whole house fan from My Green Home! It works amazingly well and everyone I've interacted with at the company from the owner on down has been a pleasure to work with. Living by the coast I've never had air conditioning but suffer with indoor air temps in the high 70's to 80's for a good portion of the year. After getting a quote for A/C at $5,500. And not really a fan of stale recirculated air or high electric bills, so I scrapped that idea. And buying solar just so you can run your A/C nonstop is kind of waste too. There had to be a better way. Then I ran into two clients in the same week who had whole house fans, (1 with A/C and 1 without) and it sounded like something I needed to look into. My Escondido clients installed a whole house fan along with new attic insulation last year and saved a fortune on utility bills even while running their A/C whenever they wanted. My Carlsbad clients have a fan from My Green Home and loved it. When they had an issue the remote, MGH was out there in a flash to fix it. I learned they have a 5 yr Warranty on parts and labor, which transfers to the new owner, and 10 years on motor I believe. After scheduling a consult, meeting the owner Caleb, and weighing the costs, installing one of their fans seemed like a No Brainer! When I turn this fan on at night, it feels I have A/C because the cool fresh air from outside is sucked into the house, creating a nice breeze. And the upstairs temperature will drop by 2-3 degrees in one hour which is all I need to make my home very comfortable. They do recommend running it 1-2 hours a night and/or in the early morning to not only cool down your home, but to push all that cool air through the attic and lower its temperature. That way the heat doesn't radiate back down to the living space. I'm told it only uses the amount of electricity equivalent to running 2 ceiling fans and I used to run 4 ceiling fans with no relief at all...only hot air moving. It has also improved the indoor air quality and can be turned on for a couple minutes to get rid of kitchen cooking odors. Even my cathedral ceilings are cooled as that air is exchanged for cool outside air. I also took them up on their suggestion to install 2 roof ridge vents as I wanted my fan to be as effective as possible. It only makes sense that you want the hot air to escape at the highest peak in the roof and not have to push its way to the front or back of the house vents, or the tiny vents along the eaves. Hot air goes up, dah! Don't scrimp. Do it the right way the first time. Replacing your attic insulation if they recommend it is also a good idea. Not only does it clean out dirt and rodent poop as found in many attics, but it also helps you save tremendously on energy costs as your heat and A/C now don't need to turn on as much. It still gets very hot in Sept, Oct, Nov. even Dec, and with every year breaking heat records, it's now a necessity. Treat your family to fresh air with less indoor pollution and possible VOC's from outgassing carpets, furniture, cleaning products and more. Their fan is about double the strength as all the other places we called. It is much quieter than our previous one and has great remotes. They were very professional and knowledgeable. Extremely impressed with this company and their product. I've only had the fan for a few weeks, but I'm very satisfied so far. It's really increased the afternoon comfort level in our west-facing bedrooms, and has already saved us from turning on our AC. It only takes a couple minutes (literally) to freshen and cool the house. It's also been great to keep the kitchen cool while cooking. The initial inspection and installation were a breeze. I couldn't believe they installed the whole thing in two hours (including cutting joists & installing blocking). Not to mention the fact that they did it on a holiday (Memorial Day). We needed additional vents installed and while My Green Home doesn't install the vents themselves they did have the vent company reach out to us to schedule an appointment so we didn't have to do extra work. I found My Green Home at the San Diego County Fair last month. The representatives there were very informative about the whole house fan and the options that they offered. I liked that they were a family owned business. They let know that one of their sales people would contact me the following week. I got a call from Maggie that Monday and, after a very informative phone call, was on the schedule for an in-house estimate. Caleb was on time and very personable. He talked us through every step of the estimate and explained what he felt would be best for our home. We were glad to find out that we already had the necessary attic ventilation and would not require any additional installations aside from the whole house fan. He also explained to us how much of a difference this would make for us. We live in Santee, so, even with our great insulation and A/C, it gets pretty warm in our house during the day. We were looking forward to being able to take advantage of the cool evening air instead of our A/C! Jason was our installer and he was professional and very courteous. He discussed what he was going to do and where the unit would be placed (which was slightly different from where we had originally thought it would go). He explained that it could not be located where we had thought due to A/C ducting. He was efficient, respectful of our space, gave a heads up when it was about to get loud, and completed the job in the time frame we had been given. There were no additional or surprise costs and the job was done extremely well. We had chosen their Zephyr Blade fan due to the power and the ability of having a non-wired switch, along with a remote switch. Our whole house fan was installed about 2 weeks ago and my wife and I are very very happy with the fan's operation and installation. Caleb is the gentleman who came out to survey the install and setup the install was very nice and on time. Jose the installer did a great job of getting the fan installed quickly, he left no mess behind and the fan looks great where it is installed. The operation of the fan is brilliant also, on high mode it really draws the hot air out of the house and takes about 10 minutes to really purge the house.
