I've been to a few different my gym locations and this one is by far my favorite. It's so clean and new.

We visited My Gym Atwater on a trial, and I appreciated that the space is large, clean, and has plenty of room to move. However, I felt the coaches didn't fully read the room for toddlers and younger kids when it came to the music. The music was very fast and loud, and I noticed several kids becoming dysregulated, more emotional, and running in circles like they couldn't settle. Even as an adult, the constant high-tempo, electronic-style music felt overwhelming, and I ended up leaving early with my child. Once we got to the car, my toddler calmed down quickly. I also wanted to mention that I had to let the coach know my toddler doesn't speak much yet, and he had just turned three a week ago. Her reaction felt strange to me -- she made a face like it was unusual, then asked if he had "always been like this." As a parent, that felt uncomfortable and insensitive, especially because toddlers develop at different rates and speech delays are not uncommon. I do plan to try one more class, but I strongly recommend the staff adjust the music choice and volume, and bring a more thoughtful approach when interacting with little ones. read more

We have been coming here for a year. Our son has learned so much here and always has a great time. We do mighty mites, practice & play and now karate. ALL OF THE COACHES HERE ARE GREAT. They do a good job of paying attention and getting the little ones to pay attention. We've really watched our son come out of his shell here and I am thankful for being here. I am so glad I started having my son go to classes here. He absolutely loves it. Every week they have new "adventures" set-up and different obstacles for them to try. It's great that they keep it new and fresh but still have a consistent flow to things. The class starts off with some warm-up and songs I. The middle, the goes into free play while they set-up some of the stations to do some age appropriate gymnastics. They then do swings (which what kid doesn't love swings) and a fun ride type option. They also usually have some free play with balls, musical instruments etc. where they have the parents try and step away to allow the kids to work on separation. The class the ends with some more circle time and a farewell song. My son always get so excited for class. While the class size can be sizable the gym is big enough to accommodate everyone. Also, all the instructors are great, seem really caring and make it a fun, safe environment. read more

We love this gym. Our LO has been coming here since 13 months old. Initially, she was very shy and clingy to us. They have "separation times" where the parents would have to sit on the sidelines while their kids learned to play with other peers and be comfortable separated from their parents to build confidence. It was nightmarish initially because ours would usually be the one crying. Cut to 19 months of age and she has been doing so well. She loves Coach Blue and Coach Skylar - both are amazing with kids and so kind and patient. She high fives them when she leaves and separation time is just her interacting with the coaches comfortably without tears! She loves doing flips and hand stands at home now and we know it's because of everything she has learned at My Gym. Plus Tim has always been a nice contact person as well. We have loved watching our LO blossom and make friends here! read more

Our daughter Arynn absolutely loves her Mygym class & the open play times that they provide. The staff are amazing, so engaging and the classes are tons of fun!!! She's gained so much confidence walking, running, jumping, tumbling, hanging and getting all the social interaction she needs to flourish. She's been going since she's been 8months (crawling) and by far the best weekly activity we do together!! We've met the sweetest parents there too and couldn't be more thankful for Coach Jim & all the staff. They have fun holiday events for the kids, circle time & fun hand puppets that Arynn loves. They change up the activities and set up of the gym so it's new and exciting for every visit. There's a fun closing song at the end & the give a fun hand stamp -- Arynn is always the first to line up!! Oh yes, during peak hrs they provide a greeter to support with parking. There's a parking lot just a walk away or street parking too -- we've never had any issues. Pros: Fun positive atmosphere with lots of free play Cons: Slightly dangerous. Most rules that are clearly laid out aren't enforced. Parents bring older siblings (ages 5-10) into the class freely and chaos ensues. Nothing is said. Half the parents are on their phones the whole time so you end up having to watch their kids. Nothing is said. Parents FALL ASLEEP ON THE MATS, or jump on the equipment while your kid tries to meander through and you have to quickly grab them. Nothing is said. Politely relayed all these concerns to the manager over the course of a few months and was casually dismissed and excuses made. Had to leave. Would have stayed if the issues were addressed. read more

I have been bringing my son here for a month now and it is one of the best decisions I have made for my little guy. The staff is kind, respectful, welcoming, and they are all wonderful with toddlers/kids. My son has become more and more confident with all the coach's - they really know how to talk to him and make him come out of his shell. I honestly am still floored about our experience at MyGym. We've been going for over a year and a half, and held my daughter's 2 year birthday there. She adores the classes, but has regularly been aggressively handled by one of the coaches. This came to a head during a class this week, where the coach yanked her off of a skill station so abruptly and aggressively that my daughter was left sobbing and confused. I emailed the director or MyGym, explained the situation, and suggested some training around handling kids would likely fix this issue. His response to me was so gross and outrageous that it's hard to comprehend. He essentially dismissed what I'd said, and then brought up a separate issue to try and suggest that me and my daughter are just not a good fit at this class, all because she has a hard time sitting still for 8 minutes (she turned three a week ago, keep in mind). We obviously won't be returning, and I wanted to flag this to other parents as a warning. read more

We have been coming here since my son was 18 months. The coaches are patient, sweet and terrific with many different age groups. Coach Tim is especially fun and great energy. My daughter loves this place so much! She's 18 months, so a pandemic baby, and this is the most socializing she's done with other kids. We started taking her a couple months ago, and I've seen a big jump in her social and physical development. My daughter has developmental delays and isn't quite walking yet, so I really appreciate how accessible the classes are and how accommodating the staff is. I've never felt uncomfortable or like my daughter couldn't participate. I also really appreciate how strictly masking is enforced for parents and kids over two. Makes it feel a bit safer. My son has been to My Gym since he was 9 months old, he's now 4. Classes are great, with structure and the gym carves out a time for free play. Coaches are energetic and gentle with the kids. Weekends can get crowded so we tried a few classes during the week and found a small handful of kids per class so everyone received individual attention. My son has grown so much and developed good hand eye coordination, tumbling skills and climbing. We looked into My Gym for our son's 4th birthday and decided to hold it this past weekend. Coach Yvette and Nicole did an amazing job! There were plenty of activities to preoccupy the kids and everyone had a great time. Some of the parents invited to the party had never been before and inquired about enrolling their child. I was so impressed how organized the coaches were, from setting up to cleaning up, and all the fun games in between. It was a blast! read more

I literally cannot say enough good (amazing/loving) things about my gym. We've been coming here for almost 6 years between my 2 children. It is like a second home for when we want to see friends and run around with joy. My kids have met their best friends here. I have met my own best friends here. Some of the coaches have become friends. Because that is the kind of place it is - warm, friendly, welcoming, energetic... We are so thankful for the many years of fun and memories. Of all the toddler/mommy and me etc. classes my kids have taken this is the ONLY one that they've sustained an interested in and never asked to move on from. My 2 year old twins love coming here! We have an unlimited pass and go 2/3 times a week, they never get tired of it. This location has wonderfully engaging and friendly staff, they come up with new things to do with the kids every week so it always feels a little different but with the comfort of familiar faces. We have made friends here and enjoy the community it provides. The kids skills have grown so much since we started here and it's amazing to see them come out of their shell around other children. I love that I have a safe indoor place to take them where they can run all their energy out! read more

This place is so much fun. I've been taking my 1 year old kid here for a few months and she is so comfortable there now! The space is incredible- bright, safe, CLEAN, and gets changed up every week! The classes are loosely structured to allow all kinds of exploration and experimentation. The staff are wonderful and engaging. I highly recommend this especially for parents of kids who are wanting to have a safe place for their kids to learn how to move! I had my daughter attend MyGym for several of their group classes. It always seemed the coaches were stressed out and were understaffed for the amount of children they squeeze in to there group sessions. I would not recommend their group play sessions to many kids running around with not enough staff to watch and keep them safe. read more

This review is just for the Baby2Baby donation box at the front of the gym. There are two large canvas containers with wheels. Think what you might see at the post office for packages. I had a bunch of diapers (unused, of course) that I wanted to donate instead of just throw away. I just walked in and donated the stuff into the container. You can't miss 'em. Make sure you bring your unused items so they can find their way to a deserving family. By the way, how hard is it to get the correct amount of diapers without wasting any? I swear, when my son was a newborn, he grew so fast! I was always on Amazon playing diaper roulette. Do I get 88 and play it safe? Or get 256 because it's the better value. More often than not I'd get 256 because that's how I roll, but then a few times I got burned and ended up with a hundred or so spare diapers. Thank goodness for Baby2Baby, and it's drop-off locations. I can't wait to come back to My Gym to try non-donating activities. It was super busy, and the kids looked really stoked to be there. I mean, karate AND toddler gymnastics in one place? Sign me up! Or rather, sign my son up! read more

My wife and I bring my 1 year old here and it's an awesome environment for them. The teachers are very attentive and productive with the children. My baby is considered a waddler. I can't begin how amazing this place is. My son definitely enjoys it and it trains them to be around other kids and instructors as well. They have different obstacle courses that vary for different skills. This is the best investment for my toddler that I have ever done. Call and schedule yourself a free class to try out the place first and you'll see how great this place is for kids. They have karate and other activities for older kids as well. My family just had a horrible experience at My Gym Atwater Village today. A strange woman was roaming around the gym filming children who were not her own. Our child was not playing with her child, and when she started to film our child - my wife asked her to stop. She would not. My wife then spoke to the coaches and to the manager, none of whom seemed to understand why it is inappropriate to film other peoples' children. This is creepy and disturbing behavior and is not in the interest of child safety. read more

My 9 month old baby boy loves My Gym! He was previously enrolled at Gymboree, but I could tell that he enjoys being here so much more. First of all, the area is huge! There is a lot of crawl space for my little one, and he loves pulling himself up, and climbing up the different obstacles. They are mostly padded and very safe. The classes that he attends every week are excellent. He is currently enrolled in the "Tiny Tykes" class, which surprisingly is a very active one considering most of the babies in this age group are crawlers. What I really appreciate about the class is that they are always changing it up and keeping it interesting-- even for the grown ups! There's some singing, dancing, playing, and at least 2 skills to learn each class. They tend to focus on developing gymnastic skills (tumbling, trapeze, balance beam, etc) which I actually like because it enhances their motor skill development. There is also a few minutes of what they call "separation time", a chance for the babies to play by themselves/ with each other while the grown ups watch from afar and the coaches spend a little time with them. It is a very well-balanced and wethought out program. Coach Yvette, Coach Pauline, and Coach Tim (who is also the director of this location) are the absolute best. Not only are they naturals around children, but I feel like they genuinely care about each and every child. I cannot say enough good things about My Gym Atwater Village and the staff. I can see my son enjoying their program for years to come! Update: I recently had my son's 1st birthday party here, and we had such a great experience! Coach Tim accommodated all my requests, while Coaches Pauline and Cherry planned such a fun-filled 2 hours for the kids and adults alike. Evee ran our party with Jasmine and they were incredible. i took my daughter in here last weekend for the free trail class and she enjoyed it so much that i signed her up right after the class ended. there were two coaches in her class that were both very nice even when some of the kids were not listening. i felt very comfortable and surprised with their level of kindness and language/tone towards the kids cause i've been to some where the coaches were constantly belittling or shaming the children. one child even had an accident during our class and the coach was very calm and didn't shame the child. would definitely recommend this gym for anyone looking for some fun & physical classes for their babes! read more

I'm so glad I found My Gym! It's been a month since my son has been going and he LOVES it! At his first class, he was a bit on the shy side + super attached to me. I took him again for the Practice & Play the same week to help him get familiar with the environment... it helped so much. The staff are all amazing! I really appreciate how accommodating they are especially during the Practice & Play times. I love that they go out of their way to build a "baby area" for the young ones. I really don't mind that it's open to all ages...I think it's great for my son to be around toddlers. Lastly, I love that my 8 month old remembers Coach Evy and Coach Pauline. My son has been going to My Gym for about a year now and it's amazing to see how much he has grown since that first class. There is a mix of structure and free play with coaches helping the little ones learn a new skill each week. All the coaches make it a point to learn each child's name and interact with them on a personal level. My favorite part is separation time. This is where the parents step back and let the kids learn how to play with each other. You really get to see your little ones personality when they think you aren't around. During our first class we realized he didn't know how to play with peers. He was always around older cousins who told him what to do and now he interacts with the other kids, plays with different musical instrument and helps clean up.
