I absolutely loved Kimberly blazer! I was so nervous to take my 3 year in fear of being shamed for her having cavities, but she was so pleasant and understanding. She was also great with the boys too! She provided quality care and realistic treatment plans for what we had going on. We were done with all three kids with my treatment plans in hand including x rays and cleanings in under 30 mins! Fast, friendly and efficient! This place is beyond what i expected ! I was reffered here by a family friend. When i say "IVE BEEN TO 6 DIFFERENT DENTIST" in the whole Valley of the Sun ... I mean it. Being turned away,NEVER called back and no answer ? Yeah i was just about DONE. (Not really my son needs help). But i felt so beaten and just torn knowing our experiences werent always Good ! So today 1/25/23 i had the pleasure of taking my son which at this point his teeth are INFECTED. I took my children there for five years and everything was good, now the employees have changed and I really feel the change that should be for the better for is for worse, the doctor is arrogant and rude without any respect, the last two times they changed our appointment time and made us wait, my son needed a filling they put him in to the room for two hours until the doctor addressed him, when I asked what was going on? The assistant lied and said that we wanted to cancel the appointment, the doctor got angry and told us that we are not welcome in his clinic, I am not a person who gets angry easily or raises my voice especially not around children, I have been a teacher for 35 years, of course we will not return there and we will not recommend such a place to anyone. read more

By far the WORSE experience I've had at a dentist office. Especially for a 1 year old. First off let me just point out the girl in the front "Alyssa" was super welcoming and helpful with checking in. Thank you! However the dental assistant LENA, was rude, snobby, and definitely NOT kid friendly for working at a "KIDZ DENTIST". She calls us back (my 1 year old son & I) doesn't smile, doesn't greet us nothing. Tells us to sit on the purple chair next to her goes on to ask me "when does he brush? How many times? Then says okay sit him towards you and lay his head here on my lap. She goes on to brush his teeth for about a good 10 seconds and starts to get rough because my 1 year old son is moving and crying since this is his (FIRST TIME having someone else brush his teeth) so she says Can you grab his hands? (Rudely) because he was moving around and begins to roughly brush his teeth to hurry up and get it done. After about 10 seconds she says okay all done the dr will be right with you. About 4-5 minutes later here comes "Dr yang" he sits down, as well doesn't greet the child doesn't say anything but the same questions. "How many times does he brush? When? Is he drinking a bottle? Any juices or milk at night? Nursing? When I say yes I nurse him at night he says to me " Nursing is good for their health but not for their teeth. Nursing him at night causes cavities because breastmilk has a lot of sugar so when you nurse him at night the sugar is sitting on his teeth." Then he asked me " Do you have cavities or does anyone around him or in the house have cavities? Because if you are sharing drinks with him he is prone to get more cavities... I said No, no one around him has cavities. We go to the dentist when we're supposed to. Then he proceeds to lay him down picks out his teeth and says he is forming cavities around his teeth then says OK we will see you back in six months if anything changes give us a call. I'm sorry but if he's forming cavities why not take care of it now before it gets worse right? Or do I just continue to let them form and then in six months we'll see where they're at from there? Overall I felt like he looked at me like I was a little girl talk to me like I was stupid and roughly handled my one-year-old son with no care whatsoever. My main thing is you are working in a so-called kids friendly dentists but you treat a one year old that way? I will NEVER go back to that place again nor will I ever recommend that dentist office to anyone! Please save your child & yourself from being treated poorly. As well as your time! As I was researching a new dentist, I realized I forgot to review this place. Last year, we took my daughter here due to her teeth hurting her. My daughter was 4 at the time and it was recommended I take her to a pediatric dentist. Upon walking in, I was impressed with the waiting room, lots of books, toys, and cartoons for the kids. The dentist recommended that my daughter get a root canal and cavity filling for a couple of her teeth. She would need a papoose and was given something to relax her. The medication worked quickly but once they began work on her (needed two separate visits), she began screaming in terror. At no point did the assistants or dentists try to acclimate her, calmly talk to her, nothing. She kept saying it hurt but the dentist would deny that my daughter felt anything based on the medication she took. Throughout, I tried calming her, rubbing her legs, etc all the while they were scolding her for being so unruly. It was so horrible. At the end, they gave her a toy but made a point of telling her "even though she wasn't a good girl." Are you kidding me? I was just as traumatized as my daughter by the experience. I understand that young patients can be challenging but if the business is going to specialize in that, they should have the requisite "children" skills to help. read more

I love this practice. My boys saw Dr. Yang for the first time on Monday. My oldest said his cleaning was quick and painless - and I agree. It is obvious this practice knows exactly how to make children comfortable. My youngest was super resistant to having his teeth cleaned, even after watching big brother have it done. Dr. Yang had a great, casual and upbeat approach that totally won over Mr. Stubborn - he even let him shoot him with the water shooter to help him feel more comfortable. After Dr. Yang counted his teeth, Mr. Stubborn agreed to the cleaning. The hygienist had another patient to attend to, but Dr. Yang was willing to do my little one's cleaning himself because he knew that we needed to capitalize on the cleaning before he got scared and changed his mind again. Not every dentist would be willing to do that. Both of the boys had the start of a few cavities Dr. Yang wants to watch, and my oldest had a couple that needed to be filled. We had the fillings done today. Dr. Yang gave me options during Monday's visit, and approached them based on how I felt my child would handle having this work done. He had my son's best interest and comfort top of mind. The office was willing to schedule the procedure at the north Phoenix office because I wanted to get it done quickly. The cavity-filling procedure was quick and my son tolerated it well - I really think that is because they treat the kids with respect and explain exactly what all the tools/equipment are for and how they're going to use them. I appreciate that the dental assistants, hygienists and Dr. Yang explain things to the kids (and me) in an easy-to-understand way. They talk directly to kids, which makes them feel important. I can't imagine going anywhere else for kiddo dental care. read more

The receptionist was awful. The receptionist lady put our appointment down incorrectly and made us wait an additional hour and half to be seen. Upon telling her that we have an appointment at 9:30 with appointment card as proof but instead she had us down for 10:30 without us knowing. We wasted our time waiting when the kids had to skip breakfast as well. I believe they are under staffed as well. Will not be recommending such an unprofessional place to anyone I know. read more

This was our first visit to the new location. The office is beautiful and so bright. The office staff was very welcoming and friendly! Dr Yang and staff do everything they can to make your child feel comfortable. The dental hygienist goes over every procedure with you and asks you what would make your child more comfortable. How great is that to take that kind of time and patience with just ONE person?!?! I HIGHLY recommend this office!!!! read more

My kids have been coming here for dental cleanings, filings and sealants for almost all their entire childhood. My youngest now, is coming for orthodontic work. I have never had a bad experience at this practice. Nor are my children reluctant to attend their appointments, that in itself says a lot for their experience. The lobby, although has a few games and a small TV for entertainment, is not so inviting, but the good news is the wait is never long. The staff and doctors take the time to talk to you and explain the processes to you. I am definitely a fan of this practice. read more

UPDATE: It has nearly been a month since I posted this review. I also emailed every provider TWICE. Not one person has contacted me. Do not go here. They do not care. Their patients are disposable. No concern whatsoever. I have been a loyal patient to this practice. I followed them form 15th Ave and Bethany Home to their new location. They are the only dentist my children have seen. They are normally great to work with. I have never had a problem...until yesterday. Let me preface this with the fact that I am a mom of 4 year old twins and a 9 year old. I also work full time. My time is limited. I arrive for promptly for my 3:30pm appointment yesterday with my (3) children. I check in and I am given (3) New Patient Packets to fill out. We are existing patients. As Dr. Yang so kindly reminds me later, he has seen my children since 2013...so 6 years we have been a patient. I tell her that I cannot fill out all of that paperwork right now. I sit down and start going through it and I am taking my time completing it. 15 minutes go by and there are no other patients in the clinic. I go up to the front desk and ask how much longer and she says that she will check. Dr. Yang comes out and tells me that my children cannot be seen without the paperwork, that this has been a standard at his practice and that it is required to be filled out at each visit. I tell that I did not fill out this packet at our last visit 6 months ago. He tells me that he has been seeing my kids since 2013 and if I do not like it, I can go somewhere else!!! I ask if this is a requirement, why was I not notified when I received the confirmation call the day before? He tells me the forms are on his website and I could have printed them from there which I would have been happy to do had I known. So, after completing all (3) packets, we are taken back at 4:05pm...35 minutes past our appointment time. While the children are being examined, I review the website & see that there is New Patient Packet & Patient Update Form. I know I completed the Patient Update Form at my last visit. So, I ask the front desk why I did not need to complete the update form & she said that it had been 2 years since I last submitted it which is understandable that a new one would need to be completed. As a mother of toddler twins, it is not feasible for me to completed 15 pages of paperwork while waiting for an appointment. By the time they finally got back there, there were bored, rambunctious and impatient. We are dream patients...they love the dentist, we are always on time, we have never had a no show or late cancellation, no issues with out insurance or payments. Being in the healthcare field myself, I respect their time and expertise. For a provider to tell me to take my business somewhere else is shocking & offensive. I should have been told I needed to complete it so that I could have it ready beforehand or they should have told me to arrive early in order to have it completed in time for our 3:30pm appointment. Or offered to see my children WHILE I complete the paperwork or better yet, give me the option to bring it back the following day. We have been patients since 2013 so it's not like you would never see us again. It is not like you needed the paperwork in order to obtain medical history...you have seen them all since their teeth came in. Dr. Yang was rude, abrasive and dismissive. read more

I am so grateful to Dr. Yang and all of the wonderful staff at My Kidz Dentist. We recently switched to My Kidz after my son had some negative experiences at another practice. His first visit was amazing, and we were able to get Xrays, without tears or gagging, for the first time in a year! Unfortunately, the results showed that he had to have an extraction. I was nervous about this procedure to begin with, and then a week before his scheduled appointment he was in a lot of pain. I called and they were able to fit him in earlier. They were so compassionate and caring and my son did great! It's hard to see your child experience fear and pain, and My Kidz Dentist eased both of those for my son, and me too! read more

My kiddo had a tooth ache yesterday and we needed a kids dentist in this area. We tried My Kidz our because it's super convenient and they were awesome. Got us in right away.They figured out what he needed (a tooth pulled, yikes!) and instead of having me bring him back another time, they told me to give them 45 minutes and they'd handle it, just had to see other patients with appointments before us. We walked over to Lucis, got coffee, walked back, and they were ready. They were so sweet to him and worked really quickly. And, they told me he might not even need braces (we'll know for sure down the road) but that was pretty awesome news too because I just assumed he would. Fingers crossed on that front. Anyways, cute office, obviously very kid friendly, awesome and EFFICIENT staff, super nice dentist. Oh and I was a little concerned coming here because of the reviews saying they weren't calming or kind to apprehensive kids, but if my kid even wiggled, they immediately stopped and asked if he was ok, if it was hurting, if he could feel it. I didn't get the impression that they would have been short with him or anything like that if he had a difficult time. Everyone there is just too smiley and nice and cheerful. read more

My family and I have only been in Arizona for a year now and finding a Pediatric dentist has been difficult. The first one I went to stated that they were a Pediatric dental office but to find out that they were not. I continued my search and came across My Kidz Dental and decided to give them a try since both of my kids were do for a check up. The check in and time was normal. Then one of the assistants ( I did not get her name) took my older son in for a X-ray. Immediately, I heard her being frustrated with my son to stay still otherwise the X-rays were going to take longer. He was trying his best to stay still but I guess something was hurting him and wanted a breather in between the X-rays. The assistant finally finished the X-rays and then took him for his cleaning which was fine but the assistant seemed really impatient and wanted to get the job done quickly. I think it was the Dr. that came by next to see his X-rays did not really introduce himself properly but told me that my older son needed a filling. I knew that he needed one filling done and I was ok with it. Right off the bat the assistant told me how they should sedate him. They wanted to put him under and I said "No," is there another option then she said we can do local sedation and laughing gas if you want or the "Cocktail" which is Demoral. What made me feel uncomfortable was that she was getting really short with me because I was asking my questions about sedations and the treatment process. She kept saying to me that " We wouldn't do anything to hurt your child'' Then it came to my younger son he had another assistant doing his teeth but she was really sweet with him but I guess she stopped cleaning his teeth because the doctor told me he had 8 cavities?? I was like are you sure? because we had a cleaning done 6 months ago and they did not find anything. It was a big shock to me... Right away the first assistant talked about about sedation and all of his molars top and bottom on both sides have cavities. Again, asking my questions to the first assistant because I did not feel comfortable. I even asked her if I can have a copy of my child's record because I wanted a second opinion. She did not like that at all and gave me an attitude and told me that they have to finish cleaning my younger son's teeth at the next visit. I thought that was the reason I was there the first place for my kids get their teeth cleaned... I just had a funny feeling after I left. I am definately going to get a second opinion. I don't recommend this place. I feel that they are out for the insurance money... read more

I have been taking my kids to this dentist for as far as 14 years. They are great! From cleanings to, fillings, or crowns they are gentle and always make sure to answer all of your questions. Dr. Yang and his staff KNOW how to make parents and importantly children comfortable. My son had his first dental appt today at 3 years old (we were late I know). As soon as we walked in we were greeted immediate and within minutes called to the back. The process was stellar. From X-Rays to cleaning, to the examination. From start to finish they were thorough with their explanation on the process with us the parents and surprisingly our 3 year old son! They made it a FUN learning interactive learning experience for our family. We love this practice. My boys have gone for years. The staff is excellent with both boys. My older son has autism and they know how to make him more comfortable (thanks, Liz!) during cleanings. He's needed a few fillings over the years and many thanks to Dr. Yang for making every effort to complete the work efficiently. I've been taking my daughter there for years. They have closed rooms for the dental procedures but the x-rays and cleaning/basic exams are done in an open area that is less intimidating for kids. My daughter always feels more comfortable when there are other kids around, so being able to look around and see other kids getting their cleanings done helps. I didn't give 5 stars because it seems like you see a different dentist every time so there is no relationship built between the child and dentist. Also sometimes I get a bill for a fluoride treatment (just a couple bucks) and sometimes I don't. It would be nice if they could get that figured out ahead of time so I could pay when I am there and not get a bill. Overall I am very satisfied with them and plan to stay with them and get her braces there in a few years. read more

After our old dentist retired we looked for a pediatric dentist for our two kids. I went to Kidz Dentist as a kid and had a really good experience so I figured I'd try it for my kids (two and four). We arrived early to fill out paperwork and then we waited and waited to be seen. The waiting room was much smaller than when I went there and felt very old/dirty. They finally called us back 45 min after our schedule appointment. They started off with X-rays which they messed up and had to do again; not to mention they use the old school X-rays and not the new digital ones that most dentist use these days. After X-rays we waited again for almost an hour for the dentist to come look at our kids teeth. I peeked at the schedule they had on the counter and realized the dentist went into filling appt before seeing us which he should of come to us first (according to the schedule). When he met with us he said our son had six cavities (yes, six). He has never had a cavity nor did our previous doctor ever mention one starting. He said our daughter had several cavities too but because of her age he didn't recommend doing anything until she was older. The dental assistant finally cleaned their teeth and we left almost 4 hours later...ridiculous!!!! I will never ever return. I have since found a wonderful pediatric dentist and he is very conservative with fillings. He did new digital X-rays for both kids free of charge and did a thorough exam. He said our son may have one cavity forming that we will keep an eye on and our daughter doesn't have any, just some staining. This new doctor has a very kid friendly office with play area, books, toys and every is very clean. We found our new dentist. Don't go to Kidz dentist. They are in it for the money. read more

STAY AWAY!!!! Took my two toddlers here after my old dentist stopped taking our insurance. After the exam and x-rays, they said my 4 year-old had 5 cavities and they need to be filled ASAP! How can 4 cavities form within 6 months? We scheduled an appointment for a week later and cancelled it because "something just didn't feel right" and we had our doubts. We sought out another opinion from a different pediatric dentist and they said he only has 1, if that, and told me that we should keep an eye on it for a few months, but nothing needs to be done right now. This is the worst dental experience ever!!! I am 30 years old and have had tons of dental work as a child and an adult. My wife is a dental assistant and sister as well so I've heard it all. I brought my 4 year old son here for some extensive work. First visit wasn't so bad, had our consultation and got some xrays done. The assistant was great she was fast and got 6 xrays done which we were unable to do in the past. When we came back to do the procedure it was not good. Our appointment was at 730 am and were not seen until 920 almost 2 hours in the waiting room with a 2 and 4 year old that haven't had anything to eat or drink because of procedure. After 1 and half hours of waiting and trying to entertain kids I gave my 2 year old some crackers and was told I can't have food or drinks in the waiting room. When we were finally about to be seen the doctor said the work we were having done is not possible and the teeth were going to have to be extracted. So apparently the dentist that saw him on the first visit was not qualified enough to read xrays and give a proper assessment. Not happy with the doctors or the way they handled being behind schedule!! I would never recommend this practice to anyone. read more
