Awful... they contacted me one weeks after my child's second cleaning appointment and said that they preformed a service that was not covered by insurance. The manager said she doesn't handle insurance and doesn't know why they didn't verify this prior to service. Additionally me and my spouse both go to our own dentist 2x per year and the same insurance covers the cleaning and the exam. The fact that they tell you after the service has been provided gives you zero opportunity to go to another provider. read more

This was an awful experience. My 4 year old son was taken in here by his grandparents for 2 cavities. The said he would need to come back for 2 stainless steel crowns. When I received the bill it was just under 1000 dollars. They say my insurance won't cover any of it, they also said no dentists would put porcelain crowns on a toddler. I called my insurance 3 times and every single time they said they would cover half the cost but the woman continued to tell me that "in her experience, in my experience I have never seen insurance cover any anesthesia costs" all the insurance company wanted was a description saying why it was necessary. She wouldn't even try. I also asked 4 times over the last WEEK about porcelain since my insurance covers that too but could not get a direct answer. My son was moments away from starting the procedure when I asked AGAIN if these would be porcelain or not and she said she would go check (after me asking for over a week) she came back 10 minutes later and told me they don't have any in stock, then after saying they don't have any in stock, she said that based on her experience, no dentists use porcelain crowns for toddlers. I was also told that if the insurance company cover half of the cost for anesthesia, they could "maybe issue a return but it's unlikely" so if I pay out of pocket, then insurance covers half they will "maybe" issue a refund? Or maybe they will just keep the extra money? It seems like all communication from parents to the dentist goes through one woman and she refuses to reach out to insurance, and refuses to ask a simple question to the dentist. I immediately took him to another dentist after canceling the appointment and they were so much better with communication, I also found out that WILD WEST NEVER EVEN TOOK X-RAYS before deciding he needed 2 stainless steel crowns. I came in here with my son on 8/25/23 , I got an appointment card for 9/8/23 at 9:30am. I get here just for them to tell me that my son isn't in the system. It doesn't make any sense cause this is his dentist office. So long story short they didn't confirm the appointment in their system and told me the next availability is at 11 am and if someone doesn't come my son can be seen sooner. I'm beyond upset because my son hasn't ate he's been fasting cause he was gonna get treatment. They didn't even apologize nothing. Im a single mom with no car so I use my insurance transportation they wouldn't come get me to take me back home because they always come early to get you. So I have no other choice but to wait here with my son for two hours. read more

They currently have a drawing for a basket if you leave a 5 star google review, and a pop socket for a yelp review. I'd prefer to review based on my experience. The door states hours opening are 7am. We had an appointment for 8am, where the doors were then unlocked when we arrived around 7:50am. I have 3 children to be seen, a 2 year old and 2 older that are missing school for this. Patient arriving later than us were seen first. Overheard the office staff saying so so was running late. 25 minutes after our appointment time we were still not seen, and we left to reschedule. With a newborn in tow, and a 2 year old expected to sit still and watch a movie for an extended time we were already going to be there IF we were seen when we scheduled to be seen, if ANY of them were seen when scheduled, even if it was only 1 at a time. Being seen itself is longer than a 20 minute process to have a newborn wait even longer for their siblings to all be seen. I asked for an appointment reschedule for a time where we would actually be seen at our appointment time. With 4 kids in tow, a schedule is important. This is why an appointment was made and I feel the same courtesy and respect should be given to my schedule as well and not just theirs. read more

My children love this place and are not afraid of the dentist. They have a friendly staff, comfortable waiting room, kid's movies and an adjacent playroom. They are easy schedule with and are located by the Biltmore, so you can get whatever you need to eat or shop for. It is also right next to the 51 Freeway. I took my 4 year old daughter on Tuesday 17 because I got a referral from her dentist. Just to say I'm very disappointed on this referral. The places is gross they don't clean the waiting area. The actual dentist doesn't even bother to talk to you. He comes in and spends no joke about 1 minute with your child and leaves.. it's smells bad too. My 4 year old needs dental work done so she need to be put to sleep. They stated she can't eat or drink anything right but they don't know what time there going to get her in. What kind of dentist is this. No 4 year old can go all day with out eating or drinking fluids. Definitely going to talk to her regular dentist about this and get a different referral. Don't take your children here especially if they needs crowns or dental work done. I took my son in for 1silver crown in the back of his mouth and one baby root canal and when we were there i was told they would let me know before hand if he needed any additional work done. We got there and waited over 2 and a half hours for him to be seen then they never told me he needed any additional work done. my 5 yr old came out with 7 silver crowns when all he needed was his cavities sealed. how do i tell my 5 yr who hates his smile now that we cant do anything about it. They never asked me before doing any additional work and to top it off the front staff is unprofessional one girl walked in with her hair so messy you could tell she had just woken up and left for work, her hair was a mess and the attitude is uncalled for. This is the worst dentist office. My husband and daughter arrived early for the appointment and had to wait over 30 minutes. Then, they barely did a cleaning, didn't make my daughter comfortable, and tried to upsell us on $2700 in dental work on baby teeth. They kept changing their diagnosis and seemed confused about what she needed if anything. It was so shady. They had two giant treasure chests of toys they let other kids pick from and never invited my daughter to. The receptionist is not helpful nor knowledgeable. My daughter came home crying saying she never wants to go to the dentist again after years of her loving her dentist before we moved here. She's never had any problems so to be told she had 9 cavities seems ridiculous. We are getting another opinion and will now have to tour facilities first so my daughter isn't terrified. read more

I hope this review is read by owner or management and its taken serious, so many bad reviews should give you a good understanding of what your practice is lacking and may save you many headaches in the future. I've been at this office before, and although I became immune to the lack of cleanliness at the lobby, and sometimes even the exam rooms lacking basic hygiene, still kept coming back, let me start by saying Dr Pearson is a top notch dentist with an impressive background, he did some extensive crown work on my son, then we started to see Dr Davis, let me start by saying that she's got absolutely no bedside manners, she is rude un compassionate, she started cleaning my sons teeth and seemed bothered by the fact that she had to do it, she did tell me it was gonna hurt and not one time she tried to comfort my son, while I tried to do so, she proceeded to scold me and my son about brushing at home, when she was done she told my son " oh no you do not be spreading germs like that" as he was trying to wipe his tears off his face with his own shirt, she and her assistant walked out immediately without offering my son a tissue or a rinse for his mouth. We deserve respect, compassionate service. I hope she was just having a rough day perhaps too many patients in one day, but someone needs to give this lady a lesson in bedside manners 101, and the very basics when caring for children, I may give this office another chance , as they are conveniently located. read more

We had an appointment at 11am, we showed up at 10:40 because I knew there would be new patient paperwork. We got called back at 11:40 and when it turned 12 noon a lady walks by and asks "has he had a cleaning yet?" That's when my husband and I decided we would go back to Arcadia dental. I thought this office would be more accommodating to us due to the fact that it's open Saturday's. I was mistaken and wont be coming back. The first time I brought my kid here the lady (Jennifer) was trying to imply that something was going on at home as if I beat my child just because she would not stop crying. The way she was talking to my daughter of course my daughter wasn't gonna feel comfortable. Then for everything they were trying to charge me $4,000. I went to another nicer place in Scottsdale (Arcadia pediatrics) and for the treatment my daughter is going to need, it's only going to cost me around $600! THEN I probably called WildWest 4 times to schedule an appt. and they kept saying "we'll have Karen call you back, we put it in our notes" never called back and every time I re-called they had an excuse not to schedule my daughter her appt for the dental treatment they claimed she needed so bad. I absolutely love this dentist office. I have been to other children's dentistry offices, and almost always felt pressured to have dental work done on my child or else received shoddy work from them. Dr. Nielsen is great and is very good with the patients. He explains everything clearly and honestly. I have five children and have had just two procedures done, one that I opted in for to fix a small chip on my son's front tooth. I never felt pushed or pressured to continue with any procedure or taken advantage of. The office staff is friendly and the office is clean and conveniently located! read more

I had scheduled an appointment with this office 1 month in advance. I took PTO and made special arrangements, personally, to make it to this appointment. When I arrived the receptionist informed me that all of the dentists had left for the day! I asked why I hadn't been called and informed and rescheduled and she said she did not know because that wasn't her job. She was rude and unapologetic for them dropping the ball so big. My son and I had a horrible experience here and I'm very disappointed on how the staff treaded him. He had to get a couple of feeling and he was very scared and nervous about dentist already and they would not let me back there with him while he had the work done. So I waited in the waiting room and an hour passed and we asked if we could go check on him and they said no they don't want parents just walking around back there. I think it really uncomfortable that I can't be back there with my son while he gets his teeth worked on . Finally he came out crying and he is 13 he shouldn't be crying, and after catching his breathe he told us how rough that they were and the whole time they kept telling him to be quite. And that they wish that they were done so they could go home since it was Saturday. I WILL NEVER TAKE MY CHILD BACK HERE AGAIN!! read more

Dr. Heil and all of the staff are truly excellent. Service is friendly, informative, prompt and extremely reasonably priced. They accept most insurance and also will do the exam/x ray/cleaning for $35 cash. They are very clear on charges for other services and will give you options. Appointments are easy to get within a week or so for routine care. The office is clean and designed well for children. I've been taking my son to this location since he was 18 months old for all of his cleaning and dental needs with one exception; I took him to Karen Teeter dds for one cleaning when he was 3 years old due to an insurance change. I regret not just paying the $35 cash for Wild West and Dr. Heil, as Dr Teeter and her staff rushed my son and restrained him in the chair due to his inability to sufficiently calm in a short period of time. Such treatment has never occurred at Wild West! They always have made my son feel welcomed and are patient with questions, wiggles, and the challenges of kids. They have made his visits calm, friendly and comfortable and have always invited me back with my son for the appointment. read more

The dentist is very cold and mean to children but nice to the parents. They should make the patient feel comfortable not the parent. The staff is always talikng to each other and ignores the client. Terrible service. I was referred here by my general dentist for my daughter for cavities. At the first appointment they sent us back out in the waiting area and expected us to wait for apx. 2 hours after the dentist initially looked in her mouth to get the fillings. I had to reschedule, and in the midst of all that the front office staff gave me three different prices for the treatment. When I told them I couldn't wait that long and expressed some frustration with the lack of clarity regarding the price they were unapologetic. We rescheduled. At the second appointment we waited 40 minutes past our scheduled time. They then refused to let me go back with my 5 year old while they did the fillings. I would be more understanding of this if it was a practice that had worked to establish some trust with me, but they had not. We walked out because I couldn't be sure of how they would treat my daughter without my being there. I understand there are some parents that might be disruptive, but you should also be transparent and straightforward regarding your care. read more
