I stayed at Primrose for a 3 night stay recently. While I have visited Chino Valley many times and…read morestayed at the Days Inn, I decided to try something different. Primrose is a small motor court style of motel with 7 rooms and 1 suite (that I could see) in a separate building. You park in front of your door and my room was small but large enough for one person. The interior was nicer than I expected. It was a well furnished room with nice amenities in the bedroom and bathroom that had a walk in shower. The ac worked well and the room was quiet. The property has a shaded patio area with a gas operated fire pit for cool nights and comfortable chairs to sit around it while relaxing. This business is well kept and maintained. Behind the motel is a nice RV park that is also part of this business. Check in was a little weird. I arrived when the office was supposed to be open in the evening but it was closed. So I called the telephone on the door (if the office was closed) and got an answering machine that said its mailbox was full! I had to knock hard on the windows for the manager to come to the office to let me check in. I believe that she and her hubby live behind the office. Other than that I enjoyed my stay. I would stay here again if the price was right. No breakfast here unlike Days Inn but Safeway and a couple of fast food restaurants are with 3 minutes walking distance.

But what really made the day special was the staff. I worked with Corrin from touring and booking this venue through to the completion of my big day and I couldn't have asked for a more friendly, kind, supportive and simply amazing lady to go through the strenuous process of wedding planning with! Corrin was always quick to respond to my seemingly endless questions and concerns. She offered lots of good recommendations for florists, hair and nail places, dessert places and she was so understanding and patient with me. I got to meet Tony the owner who is also really great! And another special lady who made my wedding day amazing was Ms. Stephanie! I wish every bride had someone like her to help guide them through the glorious chaos! Stephanie had nothing but kind words for everyone she came across! She was so positive and cheerful and that happiness spread to everyone around her! She is amazing and I truly couldn't have gotten through my wedding day without her or Corrin! They both went ABOVE AND BEYOND for me and I love them both! Not only were the service staff amazing and efficient, the food was EXCELLENT! The drinks were strong and a GREAT TIME was had by all! All of my guests said something to me about how beautiful and peaceful and amazing The Windmill House is and I truly hope future brides and grooms find this gem! I'm incredibly grateful to Corrin, Stephanie, Chelsea, the wait/service staff and Tony for helping me make my wedding day super special!

From the planning to the rehearsal to the day we arrived at the event Tony and his crew could not have been more accomodating. Stephanie, the on-site coordinator, undeniably loves her job and it shows! She was so helpful and always there to answer any questions we had. We had an unfortunate debacle with the florist we hired and without hesitation Stephanie jumped into action the day of the wedding making suggestions, offering solutions, and providing support. Because of her my daughter had fresh flowers on her cake which would have otherwise been naked due to the florist's mistakes. She truly went above and beyond for us! Our daughter and her fiance chose the taco bar buffet menu. I have to tell you I was not thrilled with their choice before the event but after seeing the quantities provided, the amount of fresh toppings, and tasting everything I was very pleased! Our guests could not stop commenting how great the food was! The room change over from buffet to dancing went really smoothly and we hardly noticed it was happening. Their wait staff was constantly clearing tables and tidying up and Stephanie kept everything moving according to our schedule. The bartender was lovely made great drink suggestions and made great cocktails! And what can you say about the venue itself? It was my daughter's first and only choice for her wedding after visiting the property. The scenery and landscaping are amazing, there is not one bad place to take a photo! Our experience was truly amazing and I want to thank The Windmill House for making my daughter's wedding a wonderfully memorable event for all the right reasons!

So glad we chose the Hat Ranch, as it suits our outdoor style to a "T". The directions in were very easy to follow, and our Toyota Tacoma picked up a beautiful red patina of Arizona dust. Sharon, our host, greeted us at the main house and then escorted us to our quarters. As this was our first time here, she took extra time explaining all about our stay, which included a home cooked breakfast today. You can Google the Historic Hat Ranch for all the cool details, but suffice to say there are some very presidentially mended fences here on the expansive 2,800 acres. Our room was very nice, twin beds and a nicely appointed bathroom. Also a spacious deck to view the open Ranch space. We opened the windows and breathed in the fresh air...scented with juniper and noble fir trees right out our door. We didn't see any, but Sharon told us Elk frequented the area often. Many other wild creatures to see too, including javelinas. The baby colt on the way in made my wife's day, and he quickly posed for some pictures and romped away. This has been a perfect cherry on the top of our anniversary Sunday. If you love the outdoors and crave a rustic Ranch experience with warm hospitality, the Hat Ranch is the place for you.
