They have a lot of selection on their wine list, but since I'm a sweet wine type of lady, I opted for their Moscato and had no regrets! The ambience was perfect. Plenty of shade trees, grassy area, and tables for seating. The area was well-maintained and the staff at walk-up bar were very friendly. They do accept cash, credit and ApplePay. Ooh, I love this shady, outdoor, rustic venue. I'd been here for a music event before and then finally caught it at a time when it was open in the afternoon. Terrific setting. A disappointing matter happened, though, when I ordered a bottle of their Syrah off the signboard menu they put right by the ordering window. $30/bottle. Great. But they rang it up at $35 and wouldn't correct it back to their menu price when I pointed out their error. Always leaves me with a weird bait-and-switch feeling when a place does something like this. I wonder what else they're up to. Please do enjoy the setting and the really nice local wines. Just double-check their prices verbally with them, because once you buy something mispriced on the menu, it's yours for whatever price they decide. read more

It was so nice driving around in our own backyard exploring different places of winery in Arizona. I've been too Napa twice since moving up to the continent and just love Napa and all the local wineries.. So why not, try it here in Arizona! The drive from Phoenix to Granite was just about 2 hrs and that's with traffic. This is a cute hidden gem in Chino Valley, AZ. Of course, this really isn't the season of harvest or any grapes growing on the vines but, more so a season for each vines to be at sleep and being nurtured for their season of harvest to come. I love their decor place as you walk into their garden area where there are tables set up to enjoy your wine and bringing your own food to sit and enjoy some fresh air. We did there wine tasting, which was only $10. Not bad compare to the prices in Napa and knowing their wines come from their backyard. The only part that I thought was a little uninteresting was the wine tasting. I guess because we've had so many experiences in Napa - I would expect a little more education of each wine that was being poured! I think she wanted us to purchase a glass of wine, to go outside and relax. Which would of been fine but, we were set to do just a few different wine tasting in AZ and when we asked questions about some of the wines being poured - it was more of a short and sweet answer! Which, I picked up quickly and no longer wanted to be in there but, just be polite and finish it off. Buy a bottle and be on our merry way, which is exactly what we did.. What a wonderful vineyard! This beautiful property is a quick 25 minute drive north of Prescott and, when the weather is nice, you can spend a whole afternoon lounging around with a glass or a bottle. Glasses of wine are $8, and bottles are in the $30 range. We started off with a flight of all their wines (also $8) so that we could pick our favorite. They have a fridge with some cheese and fruit tastings to purchase and offer complimentary crackers (that we fed to the peacocks - shhh). This would be a great place for a picnic or outdoor party - several other groups brought their own sandwiches and cakes. I wish I would have been there for the live music on Saturday! SUMMARY: Beautiful grounds, great wines, peacocks, picnics and heavy pours. read more

Granite Creek Vineyards is a beautiful winery! I have been to a couple and who would have thought a AZ one in my own state actually nearby home would be the best to me. We went with a group of 18 just because and we ALL really liked it and had a phenomenal experience! They have wine tasting sessions Friday, Saturday & Sundays from 1-5pm. You can also buy per the glass $8 each or bottles $25+. We did the picnic lunch there for $12.50 and it was very good food. The only reason why I didn't rate it five stars is because you can not take the signature glasses home like at some wineries. Everything was exceptionally great, but for the $$$ we spent I think souvenir glasses should have been included. lol read more

Cutest little vineyard in chino valley. If you're trying to find a spot to hang out for the day, this is it. There is live music and peacocks! I thoroughly enjoyed the wine tasting, great variety of wine and even brought one of the bottles home. They have their own parking when you turn in to the vineyard. Food is also available from a food truck, but it is technically a different business and only accepts cash. It also looks like Granite Creek will make you a picnic if you let them know you will be there in advance. Good to know for next time. I didn't know this at the time, but you can feed the peacocks!!! A great little find if you're up in the Prescott area and have some time on Saturday afternoon. It's sort of in a residential area, but once there you forget all about it. They have lots of shade in the courtyard area and a food truck that sells some pretty good foods that's goes with the wine. It's not Napa Valley so don't get your hopes up. That being said it's a great place to hang out and enjoy some decent wine. They have live music on Saturday afternoons and sometimes host weddings. Definitely worth a stop if you're not too far away. read more

I came to the vineyard today to enjoy a sunny day in the vines, have a solid, good quality meal and enjoy some of the local wines. What I got surpassed any possible expectation! It was Sunday Brunch, and the small menu was brilliant, each choice more tasty-sounding than the next. While hard to choose, I ended up choosing the Eggs Benedict (the Béarnaise sauce was home made, fresh and glorious!)--but the Banana Bread French Toast wasn't exactly tragic (was like a dessert in a meal, could be a good group by itself). Top it all off with a fresh carafe of Sangria and a cheese plate (delicious cheese choices, fruit, home made lavosh, candied walnuts, etc,) and Sunday Funday was complete. Did I mention the multiple peacocks wandering the property...drop the microphone!! If you don't take the time to come here, you lose! Well worth the short drive from Prescott, and a PERFECT way to spend a Sunday, or any other day for that matter. read more

I had my wedding here last month and am still on cloud nine! Heather is the wedding coordinator and I couldn't have dreamt up a more perfect wedding day if I tried! Not only was the venue perfection but everything was taken care of- the setup, the decor, the rehearsal, coordinating with vendors, the AMAZING dinner, the clean up.. I mean everything! I did nothing day-of and if anything went wrong I certainly didn't hear about it. Heather also did my bouquets and boutonnieres and ohhhmygoodness not only did she save me hundreds, they were something right out of a bridal magazine! I am getting texts from guests asking for the name of the catering company from my wedding- Block Six Catering the in house catering company there & the best! I am not a wine connoisseur. Quite the opposite, I'm a beer-and-steak kinda guy. But when we moved to the area, I made an effort to get to know some of the hidden gems here and was fortunate to stumble upon Granite Creek Vineyards. It's off the beaten path, to say the least. Off of the main roads in Chino Valley, it's quiet, picturesque, and the wines are fantastic. I say this because I've never been a huge fan and yet I've found myself buying a few bottles here and there when the mood strikes me. I especially love the peaceful lawn next to the vineyard. Even with the massive peacocks strutting about (no joke; real, live peacocks), it's comfortable and laid back. We chatted up some visitors to the area while we sipped our wines and enjoyed the quiet. I've yet to go when they have live music, but I'm looking forward to the first opportunity to do so. read more

This is one of my favorite vineyards in Arizona. Not only do they have a variety of delicious, organic wines - but they have beautiful grounds on which to enjoy them. The property is very welcoming, as they offer chairs and tables scattered throughout the grounds, along with live music on Saturdays. You can either open a bottle of wine that you just purchased, or if you'd rather save it for home, enjoy their wine by the glass. They also sell little picnic lunches, as long as you call and order them ahead of time. I can't wait for my next visit! read more

I had a great time here with friends. Granite Creek Vineyards was an unexpected treat during my stay in Chino. The owners created a wonderful ambiance complete with a tree-lined grassy area, a latin band, and peacocks freely roaming the ground. When it began sprinkling outside, the owners opened up a small cottage for my group to hang out in. The wine is all right, not great by any means, but I still bought two bottles. I'm only giving this business 4 instead of 5 stars because they don't waive the $8 tasting fee if you buy a bottle ($25-$30/bottle) or even two bottles. In order to waive the tasting fee, you have to join the "Case Club" and purchase an entire case before you can get $8 knocked off the bill. I think that's outrageous. For 6 people to taste plus the two bottles and a cheese plate, the total ran upwards of $125.00. If I go next time I'm in town, I'll skip the tasting and just buy a few bottles to take outside. read more

Wonderful place to spend a Sunday Afternoon. While we have been coming to Prescott from the Valley for many a summer this was our first visit to the Vineyards. The food was ok. Crab cakes & cheese plate weren't too bad. Now for the wine. Personally I'm not a fan of whites or blushes and I'm quite fond of reds... Lodi, Sonoma, Napa obviously have some of the best wines in the US, and the best Zin comes out of Lodi. So I tried the Reserve Zin at Granite Creek. First off I don't think they have a clue on what a Zin should taste like, but if you like a port with a lot of sediment, then this Zin is for you. The Cabs were too dry (although the description described it as such). The Pinot Noir was probably the best. Definitely wouldn't be my first choice for wine tasting, but if this is all they have in AZ, God help them! And let's not forget the fly population---horrid!! read more

This place has turned out to be my favorite winery in AZ... and I have been to most of them. We did not do the wine tasting but did have wine by the glass with our lunch. The food was quite good as was the wine. We sat outside with the peacocks and live music in a shaded area. The only downside was the flies which we were told were the result of a nearby organic farmer. (Bring your own citronella candle, bug spray or one of those cool fly catcher strips.) This place is now on my "must visit" list for Prescott. read more

Heather Bamberg is the event coordinator extraordinaire who lives and works at the vineyard with her family. She and the rest of the staff are amazing! She was our wedding planner and didn't miss one single detail. She is professional, friendly, kind and goes out of her way to make sure every detail is perfect. She welcomes you with a warm smile and you can tell she truly loves everything about the vineyard. Her husband Chris is the chef and makes the most delicious food using creative and unique recipes. The food at our wedding was perfection and all of our friends and family are still commenting about what a great job he did! And the wine! It is just amazing! They have a wide selection of wines that they make at the vineyard and all of them are excellent! The vineyard itself is absolutely beautiful! It is lush, green, quaint, and has a wonderful atmosphere. If you are in Prescott this is a must see! It's only a 30 minute drive from Prescott and makes you feel like you are on vacation! They often have live bands, events, and it's just a great place to enjoy some wine and delicious food outside under the trees while beautiful peacocks roam the property. If you are planning a wedding, this is an amazing venue! My wedding was perfect thanks to the vineyards natural beauty that spoke for itself and the amazing staff. This is one of those special places where one loves to visit because it's just a super neat place. Granite Creek Vineyard is open on weekdays (call ahead for specific hours). They are open Friday- Sunday from 1pm to 5pm. On Saturdays and Sundays, Granite Creek often offers live music ranging from Spanish guitar to folk music. Wine tasting is offered at $8.00 per person. Granite Creek has a limited assortment of wine. The reason for this is they are a smaller organic vineyard and bottle a limited number of bottles of wine per year. Because they are a smaller vineyard the vintage often changes. Granite Creek offers a Case Club members package, which is a one time purchase. This means, you buy a case one time, you then receive free wine tasting along with a slight discount on wine from there on out. Granite Creek offers catering from a caterer, but you are welcome to bring a meal on visits. Granite Creek has three areas you may enjoy your wine, the tasting area (indoor) a medium size lawn in the back and the front area. The ambiance is so nice. Music area appears to alternate from time to time from the front lawn to the back lawn. If you go please have a designated driver (sad for that person) because everyone appears to have a really good time there, at least that's what I've seen on all of my visits. My husband and I both did the wine tasting, then we ordered lunch from the food truck on the premises. The food was delicious, and the Chardonnay from the local grapes was AMAZING! The lady in the tasting room was friendly and knowledgeable about the wines. We got caught in a rain storm, and were able to sit under a tent to enjoy the wines and the weather.
