I loved it. I went there as a field trip for my school all of 5th grade went there it was so much fun! the food was amazing. The activities were great I climbed to the top of the tower! (on my third try) the beds were so comfortable! I got cabin cox hall it had a lot of room. My mom was a chaperone for the camp and my mom said the bed is not comfortable. I was in the blue group my friend was in my group too. My cabin had a fire place and a couch. And the guy that lives there is great ,he is funny. read more

Great site, but the highlight is definitely the food and the chefs. Gabe and Jesus really made the place light up and their food is the best on both sides of the Mississippi. Stayed in kings solving C it is a nice and clean room, it was very chilly outside so I turned the heater on. Heated the room rather quickly, the bed was nice and firm. Bathroom is clean, the shower heats up quickly. The accommodations you have are a microwave, mini fridge and for the coffee lovers you have a mini coffee bar with a coffee pot very nice. read more

If you are planning a retreat, or corporate weekend, Chapel Rock offers a first class experience. We were up here over this past weekend. Our group numbered nearly fifty and included over two dozen families with children. We had the choice of several different buildings (photos) which offered hotel like accommodations with WiFi, but minus TVs. Parking was also very ample nearby Chapel Rock has a fun rock/ rope course and even a Zip-line. If that isn't enough for you during your downtime, they also have a hiking trail. Of course being up here means you are very close to downtown Prescott. This past weekend had the added benefit of Prescott hosting the 10th Annual "Whiskey Off-Road Bike Race" Very cool. Such a great experience. My son had a hard time getting up the rock wall, they never gave up on him. He was motivated to make it and had tons of support. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The facilities are relatively clean for being a camp overrun with kids. We saw some deer and learned tons about nature. I would love to come back and bring the rest of my family. Especial thanks to Cassie, she was great with the kids, friendly, funny, and a ball of fun and information. read more

Place is dusty and crusty and the food was good but I got flu a just from staying there

I was a chaperone for my son school and our stay was a few days. First of all not all the cabins are equal. The bigger cabins have inside bathrooms the smaller ones do not. The cabin my son and I were in was small 8 people in bunkbeds and those beds are not comfortable at all. The pads (bed) are about 8 inches tall and I believe have been used for years. The sleeping bag I was in allowed me to have a little bit of padding and the sleeping pills allowed me to get some sleep. It was May and colder than my Gilbert blood was used to but the cabin heater worked and we were able to stay warm. It snowed and rained while we were there. But the smaller older cabins are in need of renovations. Lets talk food and now think about prison food or cafeteria food made by workers whom don't care how the food tastes. In the morning I can tell you the cereal was really good. My son walking around took a lead from his dad and made the same decision. I noticed at some of the parents did not eat lunch but skipped it and had dinner delivered. After all there were no rules saying people had to eat the food. I asked my son do you want do that. Nahh this won't kill us in a few days. Weeks sure but not days (I do love him). Lets talk about the staff that interacted with the kids. Some of them are good with the kids and others are not good with the kids. There was also some drama going on with some of the staff just by reading body language. The nature hikes were ok but the staff didn't talk about nature very much. I pointed out more nature to the kids and during our hike by a stream I noticed there was no life in the water of the stream. No frogs or little fish no nothing. This made me very concerned so I looked at a map of where this stream was coming from from google earth. It comes from a pond on a golf course. Do you know how bad the water has to be so that nothing is living in it? Don't play in that water. I felt some of the activities were below the age of the children. Something more complex would have been good. When my son and I returned home we both came down with a respiratory infection and were on two rounds of antibiotics. It might have been more healthy to sleep outside. I don't know what caused it. Would I do it all over again? Yes its with my son. I love him and he had a lot of fun. Would I order takeout? If your church wants to hold an event or conference, this is the venue you should seriously consider. Set back in a wooded part of Prescott AZ one would think they were in the middle of the wilderness somewhere. There are several buildings for lodging and conference rooms as well. We stayed at the St. James lodge. I stayed in a room with a twin and a single bed. The campus is beautiful. Lots of trails, trees, and foliage. One can not help but to be divinely inspired here. During our free time we were able to utilize the basketball court, obstacle course, many hiking trails, and golf course next door. The rooms were clean and well supplied. The meals that were offered at the cafeteria were excellent. We had menu items like chicken parmesan, pizza, wings, a salad bar, and rice pilaf. Breakfast featured items like blueberry pancakes, sausage, bacon, biscuits and gravy, oat meal, hash browns, and scrambled eggs. They will cater to dietary restrictions. They offer gluten-free, vegan, and diabetic options. I am looking forward to next year's men's retreat. They already have this place booked. Score! read more

Went to this place on a school trip. 3 days 2 nights. They had a bunch of activity's for the kids and kept them busy all day. The activities were science based for our trip, and the kids enjoyed the trip. Some cabins are better then others or bigger or have indoor bathrooms. So know what you are getting into for the rooms. The food was good, Not great, but no complaints for the kids I was with. The staff was awesome with the kids. I'd recommend this place and I would go again. read more

I just chaperoned my daughters 6th grade class trip to this camp. The staff was very pleasant and the grounds were very clean. There were lots of things for the kids to do and the group leaders did a nice job teaching while allowing the kids to have fun. Where do I start? This place is wonderful with big or Small groups this is my 4th time and don't regret it! They could serve more then grilled cheese and soggy chicken tenders and spaghetti every time, but hey it's just food chef Sam isn't that nice when comes to questions about gluten but the girls serving were super friendly. Who knew they had actual housekeepers that come In twice a day who are very friendly. The two lady's in that department where very friendly with the issues we had in hearts lodging and they handled it better then the counselor we asked to clean throw up. Now to talk about the counselors, some are nice and can tell they love kids and others I think they are just in it for the money. Cam and Joseph were very nice to us from the start. Little blonde skinny girl I think her name Stared with a J she was very sassy and didn't seem To care about her job. But they had lots Of activities to do to keep the kids busy. Pretty property they are redoing the front of the office and cox looks amazing they must of just did that! They are doing so many fixes! They could work on in-front of vicars but it's still a cute cabin. Newell's female bathroom has a terrible Odor told a counselor and they kinda blew it over their shoulder. They have a dog that looks like a bull dog who is super adorable and friendly! They also have a German Shepard I seen last time and the kids loved here The owner was pretty nice about talking to the kids about her puppy. And let me tell you the owner of that pit bull is gorgeous! is he married lol? Kidding Kelly! But I'd recommend going I seen a review about chicken being bloody ours wasn't. read more

We took our group of 50 to the Chapel Rock Challenge Course this summer for a three day weekend in Prescott, AZ. The Prescott area was lush and beautiful in July. The ropes course staff was very accommodating. Our group came together like never before and we discovered new things about one another. We have been able to use most of our experiences on a day to day basis since our visit. Our favorite part was the climbing tower and zip line. We never had to leave the facility. They had nice room accommodations and we ate breakfast, lunch and dinner there. This place is a hidden gem and we are so happy to have found it. We will definitely come back next year! read more
