But by then I was on hold for a total of probably 40 minutes, doing other things so didn't matter but still a little annoying that not all agents know what end is up or that you can't reach the branch directly to get any cogent answers. Branch itself was nice, but all in all some needless rigamarole that can be streamlined for better efficiency, especially when the Yelp page indicates appointment only when that is not the case. Mark Garcia helped me and was courteous. Parking is ample in the strip mall where it's located. Curious to know from the negative reviews what "policies" don't help customers, it's nebulous so I guess I'll see what time reveals. There were 2 men at the front assisting customers. Saw no woman in the branch, per what a negative review indicated so hopefully whatever issues in the past have since been corrected.

On the consultation date after i uploaded my docs, she just did not seem prepared. Amongst a series of problems, from the start she focused on how I could use the software program, not my primary concern. Worse, we spent 45 minutes on the phone with the software technical assistance person (who now also had access to my financials) trying to figure out a fairly simple comparison. At certain points they both appeared to forget I was there. Suffice to say, I left that consultation without my main issue fully addressed. Final straw, when I emailed her later that day to express my dissatisfaction, she never responded. She is probably a great CFP, but with this customer the experience was an epic failure.

It has a very similar set-up as other Fidelity offices: once you walk in, you notice at least 2 associates standing behind a counter ready to help. We had an appointment with our advisor, so we mentioned that, and they let us know he would be notified and we should have a seat. We were early so waited a bit. The folks behind the counter are young, and since not overly busy, were carrying on conversations with each other. Since we were here last, the office put in a new beverage machine: the Flavia Creation 600...completely self-serve. Created a really good cup of mocha with two custom packs of hot chocolate and coffee. And the disposable packets are automatically 'injested' so nothing to remove/dispose. Coming here gives us an excuse to explore the Seal Beach/Huntington Beach area for the afternoon, which is what we did.
