Encebollado de Pescado

The food was amazing! Home cooking!!! Yum yum. I had the soup encabollado de pescado with white rice and plantain chips. My husband had the Lomo Saltado de Res with yellow rice, black beans, and avocado salad. Both were excellent and full of flavor! The service was top notch! Highly Recommend!!!!

Xavier was our server and he took the best care of us! We had the sampler appetizer and the homemade jalapeño poppers followed by steak tacos with black beans and rice. Then we got a tamale, omg so delicious, and the Ecuadorian fish soup stole the show i added fresh jalapeños to mine and it only made it better

Al pastor, chicken, and beef tacos with tostones

Delicious little place on the outskirts of downtown Ocala. The starter chips and salsa was on point so you know it's going to be good when they hit! I had their variety of authentic prepared tacos and they were packed full! Tostones were crispy and delicious and topped it off with a horchata drink which was super tasty. Xavier gave great service and recommended I come back for the stew! 10/10!

We went for lunch on a week day and were the only people there. Don't let that deter you! Both men there were so nice and made sure everything was good multiple times. I love when a Mexican restaurant offers black beans instead of refried beans, and this place did! It was decorated nicely and clean. We sat outside! The food was great too. We got a veggie burrito and a chimichanga after we inhaled a ton of chips and salsa. Would recommend and would come back!

The interior is clean and fun. Great staff by the way too.

Please try the absolute best empanadas I've ever had anywhere. The pork empanadas came to my table, hot and unimaginably tasty. I also went with the three taco plate, which were also awesome. What a fantastic meal, great service and a comfortable atmosphere. This is a first grade Mexican restaurant that I will be sure to come back to many many times. Glad I tried it.

One of the best Mexican Food, or Tex-Mex options in Ocala. I am delighted to introduce to you, My Quate. Thanks to my dutiful and ever so faithful hubby who encouraged me to eat out again after a disappointing jaunt to another restaurant that shall not be named, I mustered up the courage to try My Quate yesterday and boy, did it deliver. For one, the wall mural outside facing the parking lot of Frida Kahlo was a beautiful touch/addition and upon entering, I was greeted with Julieta Venega's "Me Voy", which clued me in that I was in for a treat. Starting with the house salsa, it was mighty tasty and reminded me of another delicious restaurant, El Mezcal. However, what set My Quate apart are their drinks, salsa verde, and guacamole mix - and of course the main dish, Quesadilla - Beef a La Mexicana. Starting first with the drinks - I ordered tamarindo and Hubby ordered Orchata. The Tamarindo slushy was the best that I have ever had - and that's saying a lot. While I've never had it in slushy form, it dawned on me as I was having it yesterday that it was the perfect delivery. The drinks packed a delightful punch and I can see it exceedingly satiating after a hot day - and it tastes like a mangonada (where you can find at La Michoacana). The Horchata was also smooth, and sprinkled with cinammon on top. The drinks were extremely enjoyable, and I look forward to having it again soon. Next, we have the Quesadilla - Beef a la Mexicana. Truth be told, I've never tasted this dish before, and it did not disappoint. It was original, authentic, and an interpretation of the owner's rendition of the quesadilla - where the beef was juicy (as it appeared to have been made as a stew with savory spices, onions, jalepenos and carrots). On top of that, the melted cheese along with the lightly crusted tortilla appears to melt in your mouth was extremely delicious. My hubby ordered 3 taco plate with grilled chicken, ground beef and shredded beef. It too, came out delicious and left me excited to try their shredded beef plates. The hostess came out often to check on us and to make sure that we got the best service possible, while also recommending the fish and shrimp soup. All in all, this is a restaurant that knows good food, and how to serve it. We left content and looking forward to coming back to enjoying some good food.

So delicious! Great food, great service, everything was wonderful. The vibes were there with the music and overall cozy casita look. Definitely recommend if you're in Ocala!

Best Mexican food I've had since I left Los Angeles, where I grew up. Get the tamales, the empanadas, and the chicken tortilla soup.

Nothing like pink or fresh like boars head. The soup is bland ( wild rice). The breakfast potatoes were not crispy enough at all. The steak hash had two pieces in it. ( the lady came out and explained it comes 3.oz you can ask for extra after he had it remade. ( rude) My nephew never complains dug in the entire hash but said well it was only 2 pieces lol. The strawberries were smush. And the omelette was not that great. I'm letting yall know from all the guests opinions. Unfortunately the place falls short. It's cute, its menu looks amazing but a hole in the wall would be better if the food hit ya know? Sorry guys, wasted 40$ for half a sandwich and crap soup I can make better at home and my kids meal.

My parents and i came in and it was busy (not packed, which was good bc another First Watch we went…read moreto was packed). I askef if we could get seated outdoors since it wad cold inside and we got sat immediately. Our server was somewhat attentive (asked if we're ready to order, waited a couple more minutes for us to finish deciding). One of the menu items she said something wrong which was fine, i'm glad she tried to ensure I don't get an ingredient that I didn't want on a separate item. The foodrunner was absolutely great! Her attentiveness and overall attitude were great! I wish i got her name so i could give her props on here! The server checked up on us right after the food got to our table and we told her of some things we asked the runner for, but after that did not check on if we got it, how the food was, or if we wanted anything else. She passed by later and dropped the receipt with no explanation or reassurance like a "does everything look good on the receipt?" Or a "if everything looks good you can head up to the front and pay" (we did not know we need to pay up front so we stayed at the table waiting for her to get the card which she didnt check on or point out after 10-15 minutes of us sitting doing nothing). The food was delicious in my opinion. I got the 2 for you with the monterey club and the chicken avocado chop with a pueple haze (i unfortunately did not get a picture of them) but they were good quantity and quality for the price. The price of both is almost the same as if you bought any of them individually (they serve half the portion of each for the 2 for you) but i personally like the variety and trying both items. The salad only had two slices of avocado though which was slightly disappointing but it all tasted delicious. I think it's the best food i had in first watch ever!

I'm not sure why it took me so long to come back since my last visit in August 2022, but I'm glad I…read morefinally did! Stella's continues to impress with fresh ingredients and absolutely incredible bread. I wasn't sure since it being 2 years since I was here if they would have the breakfast I had last time. I was surprised they did have it so I ordered the Spanish Egg Breakfast, which came with arugula, chorizo, heirloom tomatoes, ciabatta toast, and a preserve. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the chorizo added a great smoky-spicy kick, and the heirloom tomatoes were sweet and juicy. The arugula balanced everything out with a slight peppery bite, and the ciabatta toast was just amazing--crispy on the outside, soft inside, and perfect with the preserve. I also had the Jamón Serrano Sandwich & split it with my bf. It was just as good as it sounds. The jamón serrano, manchego, and basil pesto were a perfect combination--savory, nutty, and herby--all sandwiched between that same incredible ciabatta. Every bite was fresh and flavorful. The atmosphere is cozy, and the service was friendly, though the wait was a little longer than expected. Still, the quality of the food made up for it. Definitely won't wait as long to return next time!

It looks like a store from the outside but I did see someone sitting inside sipping wine so I was intrigued. As you walk in, there is a spacious seating area at the front of the store. Then it kind of transitions into a market store. There is a counter you order food at and pay for items. There is a small bar with seating next to that as well. We browsed the market items and picked up a couple of items. We went to the counter to pay and that is when I realized you can order food and drinks. If you order something that takes time to prepare, it is brought to you at a table. Since I ordered a glass of wine, I just waited there for it and went to sit. Hubs retrieved a beer from the fridge. The owner was the individual we interacted with and he was very pleasant. There was constant traffic the entire time we were there so I hope that means they will remain in business. The prices were not too crazy and it is a perfect place to have a drink and/ or gourmet snacks. I definitely want to return and try other items on the menu.

Now owned by the proprietors of Scrambles, we're glad they kept the iconic name even if there's a new menu. We drove in and parked in the back where there are stairs leading you to a back entrance. We were immediately seated in a booth along Silver Springs Blvd./Hwy 40 and noticed how good the sound insulation was. The place looked clean and new, and our server, who worked for the original Wolfy's for 14 years, acknowledged that the place needed some refurbishing. After looking at the menu, my wife ordered the Southwest Avocado omelet with hash browns ($13.39) (they didn't have grilled potatoes because they were closed for the 4th of July our server informed us) and I tried their Eggs Benedict Arnold with hash browns ($13.29). My wife also ordered coffee. My wife loved her omelet commenting how fluffy the eggs were and how flavorful the sausage, fire roasted corn and black beans were. She also liked the fresh lime cream and avocado slices topping the omelet. The hash browns were meh. My eggs Benedict were good. While the hollandaise sauce tasted good, it didn't look as creamy as the better sauces I've had. The hash browns were not hot and didn't seem freshly prepared...it was our least favorite part of our breakfast. All in all, a good dining experience, although we'll avoid the disappointing hash browns the next time we visit. Breakfast for 2, with tip, came out to just over $37.
