He's very lucky the lady stepped between us because he was about ready to hit the ground!! I will take his advice and go to the salvation army for now on... Nice little consignment shop in downtown Northville. This business has a relatively broad…read moreselection of household wares to include many decorations, glassware, art work, some furniture, accent pieces... etc all packed into a relatively small footprint. The merchandize on sale was in great shape, much of it looking like it had never been used where even some of it came with original packaging. As it was within a couple weeks in front of Xmas when I visited this business there were quite a few holiday ornaments, many of them quite nice for sale. Overall there are bargains to be had here and this business is definately worth a peak if you are a value conscious shopper as I am.

I talked to the owner about it. He remembered me being in there three days prior and said there was nothing he could do. That's a very bad business practice.

"Your lamps are south-west style which we don't take", and the irony of the situation so that I had purchased them at their store 2 years prior. They had a lamp in their store marked $40.00 that had a lamp shade that looked as if a cat had shredded and torn it. Who do these people think they are?

There are multiple floors and rooms, all extremely well organized by category . These are some of the categories... glass and dish ware, kitchen / cookware / gadgets, clothes, home decor & furniture, toys and games, Christmas & holiday, crafts/material/scrapbook, tools. The reason there are so many volunteers is because this place is extremely well priced and well organized. I will probably make a habit of looking for treasure here!

From time to time they have very good furniture bargains.  You just never know what's going to show up. The staff here is very interested in providing a quality service and they are very good at customer service.  I enjoy going here as I am usually assured, if not a good conversation, a nice exchange of pleasantries which always brightens my day. Some booths are a mess (filled to the brim with stuff that it's hard to filter theough), but if you can handle that, it's really fun! My mom and I were in there for a few hours! The sales staff is pretty nice, too. They helped us bring some stuff down. Overall, it's a cool place to check out if you're looking for old antiques, tin poster things, etc.

Jacob and I moseyed into this antique shop on a sleepy Saturday afternoon. It's located on the…read morecorner of Michigan Avenue and Williamson in Dearborn. We've driven by it a few dozen times and it never caught our eye. The first thing I noticed were the jewelry counters! Jacob immediately knew we were in trouble, because I LOVE shiny things. They had a huge selection of vintage brooches, pins and other fine baubles. The floor space isn't very large but it's well-curated. There isn't "junk" here like so many antique shops tend to keep. Retro Image owns all of its items outright, which means more room for haggling! The prices seemed a little high, but again, we were able to negotiate a bit when it came time to check out AND the items were nice. In addition to all sorts of jewelry, they had an entire rack of vintage clothing in great shape, tons of leaded, bevel-edged glass panels, artwork, a basement bar set (!!), wooden furniture and branded memorabilia. The clerk, Chris, was incredibly kind and patient while showing me all different brooches behind the glass. He said their stock rotates constantly, so I'm looking forward to many more visits to Retro Image.
