People looking for great deals locally? This is the place. It is a great place for book lovers. They have a wide selection of gently used books. You could spend hours going through their vast selection of adult and children's books. Tip #1 of the day: If you register for store notifications with your mobile number with the cashier, you will receive notifications of 50% off sale days which are frequently on Fridays. This is only on donated items only not new merchandise. Pack your patience for checkout because everyone loves a great deal! Tip #2 of the day: They no longer provide bags for your purchased finds. You have two options: 1) purchase the cute black vinyl reusable bag, or 2) bring your own bags. Their service is wonderful! I was there twice recently and Mary was amazing and Verbena was too! They do not honor the additional 20% off for spending over 25.00 if you have any discounted items (sale colored tags) in your order. They are linked with the other local stores that continue to honor the discount. There is one particular cashier who refuses to honor it and won't correctly enter your phone number at the end of your transaction. I have caught her doing this before, and she quickly made the correction on the register screen. And as prior, I watched her NOT hit enter so that the discount wouldn't apply and I called her out on it. (Clearly I shop at GW a lot). She ranted about her employee discount and some other nonsense becoming flustered as she tried to lie. She also blamed a manager who conveniently was not in the building at the time. This time she refused to fix it (i.e. hit the enter key). Of course, there was no one else available to work the cash register. I am disappointed in the Dearborn GW for allowing such a person to be assigned to customer service there. read more

Came around 4:30-6pm on tuesday Dec 16 cashier was an older black lady with glasses. She had a bit of an attitude from the beginning of the interaction but was okay until we left the building and our roommate went to return the cart where she decided to pull them aside and inform them that "god wanted me to tell you to be careful surrounding yourself with all those white kids" Completely inappropriate to be saying while youre supposed to be working. Teach your employees to keep their crap to themselves and learn how to mind their business. read more

This location was the cleanest thrift store I had ever been in with great deals to be had. It seems that over the past year something has happened though the place is dirty, prices have skyrocketed and the shelves are filled with stuff that probably should have gone in the dumpster. I came looking for a particular item, and I couldn't believe how expensive this place is. At one point, I found a dollar tree item marked up to 4.99. You can literally purchase these items brand new, for less. I probably won't be coming here again just based on price gouging. read more

A very clean, welcoming thrift experience awaits you at the Dearborn Goodwill! It's almost an exact replica of the location in Canton. The employees are friendly and helpful. The selection of goods is better than what you'd expect. The prices are a little higher than Value World, but I don't typically see straight-up JUNK at Goodwill like I would at the former. If you're vigilant, you can find specials like "all red tags for .99". One visit, I snagged five pairs of jeans for $5! They also sell lots of new items as well, like home knick-knacks, sunglasses, undergarments and accessories. If the thrill of the hunt gets you going, then you'll love Goodwill. Check your mailbox for ads containing coupons for 50% off your purchase. I get at least one per month. read more

This is the worst Goodwill I have been to. I'm Basing this review on multiple visits, not just one. The customer service here is very poor. The lady at the register was very unprofessional. As soon as we got to the register there was no greeting. Instead she pulled her phone out of her bra and answered it. She was talking on the phone and swearing in front of children. She also looked as if she was going to fall asleep. Finally when she decided to address us (after stuffing her phone back into her bra) she just wanted to tell us about how much she hated the job and wanted to go home. I will definitely not be coming back here ever again. read more

Incredibly messy, items grossly overpriced. For example, a Christmas candle from Target was $8.99 -- I doubt it cost that much when purchased new. Pictures in frames were priced at $10 - they'd be $1.99 at any of the many thrift stores we've visited. If this place stays open, people are crazy!! read more

I only use this place as a drop-off, and it's quite nice. They have a nice little drive up spot that's kinda covered, so it would work for a quick drop-off. The people are generally pretty quick to come out and help you unload and they always remember to offer a receipt. The front display of the store looks very organized... so if the rest of the store is like the display, then I'm sure it'd be nice for shopping. Overall pleased with this place and it's drop-off. read more

I went on a sale day where from 5-9pm all ladies clothes were $2 and all kids clothes were $1. I found so many nice items so I was very pleased. Donating item is very easy and convenient with the drive up drive through they have. read more

I don't know about most people but I mostly shop at Thrift stores for my kids clothes. Goodwill is not a good place for that. I've never seen a thrift store with such a tiny children's section. I mean you would think that kids clothes would be a hot item since they only wear them for a short period of time. I didn't find the prices to be that great for used clothing. I will only go when I get the half off coupons in the mail. I know stores with better pricing on new clothes! I'll give 3 stars only because they mean well it is for charity, the staff is nice and they keep it clean. read more

The thrifting experience for me can be a mixed bag--sometimes I get apprehensive before I even enter the building, as many Goodwills and Salvation Army stores are set into buildings that didn't necessarily begin life as a retail establishment and that fact in and of itself can make the store difficult to navigate or excessively dusty/dirty--but not the Dearborn Goodwill. It is like a nice department store, clean, well-lit and well-maintained. My husband and I found it by accident as we so often do--while looking for something else entirely. Normally I tend to shy away from the Goodwill as in my area they are filled with picked-over garage sale castoffs with little value. The Dearborn Goodwill is nicely and logically laid out. The shelves and clothing racks were attractive and full, the store was pleasantly decorated and merchandised. The staff was personable and friendly. Oh, and the best thing of all? The pricing structure. All shirts are one price. Pants are one price. Dresses are all one price. I love it! Are you listening, Salvation Army? The quality of their merchandise was consistently high. They do carry men's and children's clothing and footwear as well as women's. I found almost nothing with stains or tears. Brand names abound, and there were several racks that had new merchandise (socks, sunglasses, etc.) The store is not so large that you feel overwhelmed, but not so small that you feel cheated, either. I would have to say overall that the entire experience was as near to perfect as one can get while thrifting. And it is close by to a coffee house where you can feel free to sit with your favorite beverage, people watch and feel quietly happy about your shopping experience. read more

Goodwill recently added this location in Dearborn, kind of a sister store to the Canton location. It's really nice inside, looks more like a department store than a typical thrift store. I love Goodwill's pricing system. It's nice to know all skirts are the same price, all dresses are the same price, etc. I also love that this store is so close to a coffee shop and next door to Dearborn Music. read more

So I just found out about Goodwill, and I've been going there almost everyday since. Its clean and organized. I found the staff in the Dearborn location to be much friendlier than the ones in Livonia and Canton. Shout out to Judy and LaDon, and all the other employees I dont know by name. I made a specific trip to check out this goodwill and was very disappointed. The store itself was pretty well organized and the staff friendly enough. There was a pretty decent selection, but I only actually purchased a couple things. Every single piece of clothing had been tagged right through the front of it! Most places (logically) put the tagging gun through the clothing tag or even a seam if needed to attach the tags. These people put all the tags right through the fabric on the front of the clothing. There were many pieces that you could see it had worked itself into a pretty big hole. The pieces I picked up had more flexible fabric that I knew I could kind of work back into place and eliminate the hole. Sadly, most things I picked up were permanently damaged. I would definitely have bought a lot more that day, and I'm sure it's a turnoff for others. I have absolutely no idea why someone would think this is a good idea. Why, for the love of all things good? I sincerely hope that this store will stop doing this. I'm sure a lot more people would buy! read more

Terrible thrift store. Items are very over priced for their condition (Walmart and JC Penny 1990s dresses that are faded are priced at $15-$20). Nothing interesting or good quality in the store. Limited selection. The clearnace section is still over priced (99 cents for cracked wine glasses). Only positive is that the store is clean. Do yourself a favor and skip this place. read more

This place used to be 5 stars as far as selection and pricing for ALREADY USED GOODS. However the other day there was an iron in the box, however it was used and put back in the box, it was priced at 19.99....you can get a new iron for that price. Then upon walking down a few more aisles I noticed a fish tank, used, still had a smell in it, and not washed.....and at petsmart there is a fish tank for not even 5 dollars more which won't need to be washed and guaranteed no leaks. These are not the only things, for the past 6 months or so their prices for used items have been running a tight race with what you can buy the same thing for new. read more

I know it's a good cause but they must look for the rudest coldest people to take your donations. Today is not the first time. Stop and think that some people may be bringing a lot of stuff because it is what is left of someone who died. So a half an ounce of compassion or just being nice rather than acting like I am interrupting your day would be nice. But it's been too many times and I will go the extra mile to another organization. Sorry I had to give you one star because otherwise you can't post. My choice would be zero. read more
