I have had my solar panels since 2018 from My Smart House and could not ask for a better company to work with. I have not had any problems with the panels and if I did have any questions over these 4 years, they have been more than happy to help me. I contacted them in July of 2019 I got my panels installed in October was supposed to be August. But they are not turned on because they have to be inspected by the town, they seem to not be able to get ahold of them even though every time I call they answer, which my smart house NEVER does. With the holidays being here January 2nd after work I will go down to there office to see if they have people there to answer the phone and give them a piece of my mind. I haven't had anything terrible happen yet but all the reviews you read, I would listen to them and go somewhere else for solar. THEY ARE WHO WE THOUGHT THEY WERE! okay, so we have this salesman come to our door pushing this product. I being a salesman myself listen and gave them the Benifits of the the doubt being the review wasn't favorable. We choose to put our installation on hold . I just received a bill for $222 for some bull crap about permits and whatever else. My salesman told me if we don't go through with this "no problem " you won't be charged. I was so disappointed with this company that I created a Yelp account just to let others know. To start off a door to door salesman was walking around and I am actually very curious about getting solar panels so I let him sign me up for a follow up meeting with other workers. At first glance both Anthony and his coworker (I have forgotten her name) were very nice and seemed very knowledgeable about their product. Mid way through the presentation I starting asking questions that they answered alarmingly to me like: Anthony not knowing the difference between sun hours and daylight hours (a metric used in determining how many hours of effective sun you get), or him saying that 18% efficiency panels were some of the best on the market when there are panels nearing 21% out there on the market. I understand in sales you have to spice up your product to make the sale but I am a truthful person and when you start to lie to me you lose me completely. This occurred when he wanted me to sign the contract to continue with the next step of the process. Anthony told me that I would not be legally held to anything by signing it. I clearly read through the contract and instantly told him "why does this say I will be legally held then?" And he ADMITTED that it was binding. At this point I told him I need time to review and figure out what I want to do. This made Anthony visibly displeased and his body language was not happy. Fast forward to today 10/16/2019 when I sent him a text saying I wasn't a fan of the deal because it bases all of the payments on getting the maximum tax credits which I would not be recouping until 2-3 years after the fact. Anthony and his financing partner Mike called me later that day, and after explaining that I don't want to make a deal on something that I have to base on receiving a benefit 2-3 years down the road Mike interjected "that is the craziest thing I've heard all day." They kept trying to sell me hard until I said hey I'm just going to have to decline and in the back of the call I heard Mike say "that guys a f*ck." Veteran friendly company? Well I'm a veteran, I've served in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria. And THIS is how you talk to one? I actually may have come back to this company in a year or two to purchase panels but now I will be taking my business elsewhere when the time is right. Please read this review and don't sign the contract unless you for sure want their business. Many people on this site did not and owed a $230 cancellation fee. -Peter read more

They harass you non stop. There is nothing that makes me want to find out less about a company's service then rude pushy sales people. Word of advice... when you show up to someone's house and hear little kids screaming their heads off it's not a good time to pull the old "but this will only take a minute" routine. If you have to call nyseg for my electric usage it's going to take more then a minute. Meanwhile my kids are probably running around the house naked doing their best American ninja warrior routine. Next thing I know my phone is blowing up to confirm my appointment with a tech. I never agreed to a meeting with a tech. Learn to treat customers like humans instead of a law of averages. Where do I begin.. broken promises ..can't find any salesman that lasts over 4 months. The owner takes care of veterans alright..NOT.. Their estimates for costs ...might as well be a dream sheet.. I fell for it.. DON"T make the same mistake. Learn from others mistakes (especially mine).. I'm in the process of dealing with the Attorney Generals office ..its that bad. Solstice( the maker of the panels) seems to be a halfway decent company ..only they paired with this one and screwed the pooch. I have emails stating rebates of over 14000 dollars ..plus a 500 dollar gift card (never got one since nov 2018. So far i'll be paying over 137.00 /month (originally it was only $102/month through "Greensky" bank they promised to pay any electric bill for the first year.. wrong ..they told me AFTER I signed that national grid has a line use fee of 17.00 /month no matter what. My balanced billing before this was $125/ month..now the loan is now $120/ month plus line fee of $17 to National Grid.. Add on an ADDITIONAL $40.00 for the month of August due to more usage than anticipated.. Wait theres more!! Next August (of 2020) if an additional $6400 doesn't come through on rebates for this years taxes ..tack that on for another 10 years.. at least they didn't ruin my (2 years old) new roof..(so far). read more

Worst company ever!! I would rather jump off of a bridge then use this company for solar. They lie to get you to purchase solar. They tell you that you won't have an electric bill anymore!! Bull**** you still have a connection fee of 17$ a month to hook up to the grid that you have to pay each month. You will still receive a bill from your provider every month and your bill for the solar. Not to mention there 30% incentives but what you do t realize is how much incentives there getting from state and federal that they don't tell you about. The solar panels I received through Solcius are great. The local company that sold them to me, My Smart House, is not so great. I have a hard time getting in touch with them, they don't answer my questions, and so far have promised items, such as a rebate and for paying off the interest on the first year of my loan, that have not been delivered. I know this time period is in the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic however the for mentioned items have been going on since I started dealing with the company (except paying interest on the first year of loan, first year is not done with yet. They have not contacted me about any of their promises). I am extremely disappointed about their performance. The only time they have contacted me is when they want something. If I don't hear from My Smart House I will definitely report them to the BBB and New York State Attorney General after the Covid-19 pandemic is under control. If someone from My Smart House reads this, please contact the person on McKinley Pkwy in Buffalo, NY that had their panels installed in October of 2019. Thank You! read more

Absolute disaster. No communication between company and customers. After signing a contract, waited months for work to be complete only for the sales manager to call saying they can no longer honor the price they quoted. Took business elsewhere after their unprofessional conduct and rude treatment I dealt with during the 3 months I wasted working with them. Do yourself a favor and avoid them at all costs.
