If you're like me, picking a contractor to come into your home and do pricey work is a stressful event. You wonder about the safety of yourself, your family, your belongings, your home... You wonder if they're going to exaggerate the issues just to get more money out of you... whether they will do a truly good job or "half ass" it... there's just so much to worry about.
I have to say - I was left VERY AT EASE after dealing with Buffalo Energy. From day one, working with Nicole in order to learn as much as I could about the NYSERDA program (she was the one who told me that income levels were increased due to COVID and to not assume we would be excluded- thank goodness for her knowledge!) Then working with Pete G., who came into our home to do the full energy audit. He was upfront and honest about what things should or should not be done, what truly would be beneficial to our home and what would be a waste of money. He had MANY opportunities to upsell me b/c I asked him a ton of extra questions about additional projects/concerns I had... and he was just totally honest with me. I really appreciated it.
Pete G. got my estimate written up and there was NO PRESSURE AT ALL put on me. I could take my time, he was there and available quickly via email or phone to answer any questions for me. He provided all paperwork in a timely manner - he processed the paperwork quickly as well and kept in communication with me throughout the process. I even told my husband that I would be 100% comfortable with him working with an older relative who lives alone, what with how polite, professional, and clear he was in explaining everything in detail.
When the time came to install my new energy efficient furnace and new exhaust liner and cap on the roof, the three young men who showed up could not have been more polite and professional. I know I'm going to sound like an old woman, but their conversation was always appropriate (I have a very curious younger child who tried listening in a lot), they played low-level, appropriate music while they worked, and they spoke to EACH OTHER in such a respectful way. Honestly, I was shocked when I listened in, especially while one was working up on the roof and communicating to the others down below- they actually said "Thank you" to each other, multiple times, while working. What type of construction crew is this?!?! I was just amazed.
All three of them patiently walked me through all the work they did, step by step, and clearly answered all my questions about the details of the installation. I was just terrifically impressed. Seriously. From start to finish, I really have only wonderful things to say about Buffalo Energy. read more
