They did a solid job on the roof itself and we haven't had any problems since. However, I was disappointed with the cleanup of nails and debris. Having children and a dog, I obviously don't want any preventable injuries due to nails they didn't cleanup. Being a reasonable person, I do not expect 100% of nails and debris to be found and cleaned up. But I do expect a good faith effort and the vast majority to be cleaned up as part of the job- particularly for a company whose slogan is " We Show Up, Finish Up, Clean Up and Don't Screw Up." I expressed my concerns to the owner, Todd Huber. He ultimately had someone do a cursory pass through but not without claiming the grass was too long and justifying because it was got dark and the guys were tired and that he scheduled us quickly. A customer doesn't want to hear this. The expectation is that the job will be done completely and done well. I continued to find nails for some time after in areas I would have expected them to be found by the crew. Other companies use tarps to prevent much of this. I don't remember any such measure by this company. This is not the reason for the poor rating, although I always felt he [Huber] took offense to my complaint about the clean-up. Unrelated to the roof replacement, some flashing has come loose due strong winds. I called Todd and asked if Building Solutions could fix it. Repeatedly over the past month, he has given dates when they would come to do it, weather permitting. I understand that they need to contend with snow and ice and I want them to be safe while doing the repair. But, we have had dry and relative warm spells that would have been ideal to do the work- including some of the dates he said they would come. No call, no show. Each time, I have had to call and ask what's going on, receiving dates and assurances each time. Whatever happened to follow through and doing what you say? If weather is an issue or if there's another valid reason for delay, is not a phone call to the customer reasonable? I believe so. Proactive communication at least I can understand, even if it means delays. What I cannot relate to is telling someone you'll do a job, then a complete lack of communication and follow through. I am disappointed, especially since he generally comes off as affable and congenial on phone and in person. For me at least, 100% of the time I'd rather have someone honestly tell me a job can't be done for a month, than to be disingenuously told it will be done tomorrow.

Unfortunately, our experience with the owner, Daniel Ryan, and manager, Randy, has been a completely different story. We were originally given an installation date in June, only to have it immediately rescheduled because of an emergency. When the next date came around, another emergency occurred and our installation was delayed again. We were eventually given another date, and after weeks of waiting, we were told toward the end of July that they were so far behind that we would have to be pushed into August. When the August installation date finally arrived, the crew showed up around 9:00 AM and initially had the work completed by approximately 12:30 PM. When my husband went outside to look over the work, he immediately noticed large black tubes bundled up on the side of our house near the compressor. We had specifically been told that the tubing would match our house and be white. My husband brought this up respectfully with the employee, who explained that hiding the line would normally cost several thousand dollars more, but because the salesman had apparently told us that this was included, they would give us a discount. We were then told that the entire installation would have to be taken down and redone. The crew stayed at our home until nearly 11:00 PM and told us they would return the following morning to finish. The next morning came, and nobody showed up. We called and spoke with Randy, who claimed that the conversation about returning the next morning never happened and told us they had no intention of coming back for another week because of their availability. At that point, the condenser and indoor units were installed but not connected to electricity, meaning we couldn't use the system at all. The following week, they finally returned, hooked everything up, and told us the installation was complete. Unfortunately, it wasn't. After running the system for only a few hours, we discovered that the unit in our bedroom was leaking water into the bedroom, down the drywall and into the wall itself. The downstairs unit was also draining water directly onto our wooden deck. The hoses are essentially just pigtailed off the back of the house. We called to ask whether these issues could be corrected. Instead of receiving help or an attempt to resolve the problem, my husband spoke with Daniel Ryan, the owner, who became extremely angry and told him, "This is fucking ridiculous. He knows what kind of customers we are and he's taking us to court, we entered a contract and he's not playing our games." My husband repeatedly tried to de-escalate the situation and explained that we were willing to talk things out -- we simply wanted the installation issues fixed. Daniel ultimately hung up the phone. We are now left with a system that technically works, but one unit cannot be used because it is leaking water into our bedroom and walls, while the other drains directly onto our deck. And according to the owner, these issues will not be fixed, and we will instead be charged for his time and energy being wasted. The most frustrating part is that we have been patient through multiple delays, emergencies, rescheduling, extremely long installation days, and having the work redone. We were never unreasonable about wanting the installation completed correctly. We simply expected the work we paid for to be done properly and for the company to stand behind it when problems arose. Again, I want to emphasize that the employees who came to our home were courteous and worked hard. Our issue is with the management and ownership, particularly the complete lack of professionalism and customer service we experienced when trying to address problems with the installation. Unfortunately, based on our experience, I cannot recommend this company.

I recently had a tenant move out and noticed a portion of plaster wet and sagging. After doing some investigating I have discovered that during the original install, Superior Insulation only sprayed the roof deck in the attic, the area that I could see and not the hip portion of the roof. The company has sent out two representatives to observe the work, the first, a sales person called the work "complete negligence ", couldn't agree more! The second person, the owner, said it was probably too difficult for them to do it despite it being in the contract, and instead of telling me this, they just did what was easy. I am now left with 3-4' of the entire perimeter of my roof rotting out and a mold problem. The owner is willing to spray the area that his incompetent workers didn't spay the first time but now has no access to the area because they blocked it off with insulation. So he expects me to pay to have the plaster removed and then replaced and repainted all while having tenants living in the space. They have caused 10s of thousands of dollars of damage and despite my several attempts, they are not willing to take any responsibility other than agreeing that the areas were never sprayed and I should now be out additional money to fix their mistakes. There are plenty of other options in the area to choose before this company, it's not worth the risk that they may or may not actually do the work you paid for.
