We were delighted with the job Heatwave Heating & Cooling did installing central air conditioning in our home this month. By far the best option for us having baseboard heat (I.e. a boiler) was discussed at our initial and follow up meetings with Brian. Having central air is comfortable, energy efficient and cost effective and we'd had enough of noisy, unsightly and even yucky window units. Plus we've been experiencing longer humidity and heat spells in our region. The time had come for us to call in a few folks to talk AC. Brian was the only professional to perform a cooling load calculation on our home. This entailed his going room to room with his tablet and figuring out, Goldilocks-like the unit that would be just right. Not too big. Not too small. We expressed our preference for having the a/c blend into our home; i.e. we did not want a split system. Since we began this project post-summer, we were flexible with installation dates and opted for December. (They'll return in spring to test it and review things with us.) We received regular communication as to who was coming to our home and when. Nothing shady to worry about, each team member was identifiable. Right on schedule, we got the B-Team, as in THE BEST TEAM. Brian got things rolling and Bill, Barry and the rest of the pros, including Rob, Luis, Trevor, Mike, Scott and Anna, showed up and pitched in, humming like a well oiled machine to get it done. Luis and Trevor had the challenging task of being outdoors in the very cold temps and on very mucky, wet ground. And at times on a ladder. However cringeworthy, they never complained. They were mindful of keeping the gate closed (we have dogs) and there was never anything tracked through the house. And like good campers, they cleaned up every bit they hiked in with. Bill oversaw the project with great professionalism. He had marked with colored tape approximately where each register or diffuser would go. He consulted with me if there was even the slightest location change, to be sure it was acceptable. Dropcloths and hot pink waterproof shoe covers saved our flooring from any harm. Scott held a box to catch crud falling from the attic where Rob was creating the openings into the ceilings. No mess anywhere really. We had our furnace repaired by Jake. He furnished and installed return drop, filter boot with care and precision. He also replaced and improved the pvc pipe set up at our furnace and outdoors. We were impressed with his work ethic and the care he took on the job. read more

Yesterday, a Sunday Heatwave' technician arrived at my home at 6:00pm. My Air Conditioning was leaking water . I have health issues and it is very important that I have air conditioning. Rob R was there with a smile and a positive attitude. He identified the problem and made the repair. My estimate was very detailed and printed it out on the spot. They worked it out for my schedule. Came on time and completed the job in the timeframe they said. It's been a few months and everything Is great. They will come back and check central air in the spring due to the Coldweather install. In the spring they did the final connection of my a/a. The service guy that comes to my house is amazing. His name is Jake! He just dropped of a cover for the ac and it's a custom fit. Nice! read more

the sales man was friendly but he lied. He left his cellphone # and ask that I call him with any questions or concerns. I called him and left a voice message and a text, he has yet to reply 2 1/2 weeks later! Installers tracked dirt throughout my house, scratched and dented my brand new unit, got a glue substance all over my tile, and used my yard as an ashtray. I called the office to speak with mgr and he was concerned that my installation was so poor. He did say that I could get a UV product free of charge for my troubles, but that was 2 weeks ago and I have not heard back from them yet. Do your self a favor and use anyone else! And on top of all that not one person who entered my house had a mask on or even had one with them !!! read more

I am in Western New York - not California as the location mysteriously indicates. Horrible the deal with!!! They don't stand behind their products. They installed my Heating and Air Conditioning in my home in 2006. It included a proprietary zoning system, that I have found is not commonly used by other companies in this area. When the system recently failed and I had no heat, they refused to repair it and rudely offered no help. The insincere representative kept repeating, "We don't service your area any longer. It's too far to drive. When I told them they drove there to install it, she repeated her same phrase: We don't service that area any longer. When I offered to pay for their travel time - thereby eliminating the barrier, she indicated, "We don't service that area any longer." When I indicated they were abandoning me in a crisis, and that there were no other companies familiar with the system they installed, she indicated there were many other companies and she said...."We don't service that area any longer. When I asked for the names of any such companies that she claimed would service that system, she could not provide a name but said she would return my call with such names. She never returned my call or provided any recommendations. P.S. When I had two service companies attempt to help me regain heat, they both remarked that that system had not been installed correctly and that one of my two thermostats was not even connected to the Air Conditioning wiring. One experienced worker remarked, "I've never seen anything like this. It makes no sense at all." I contacted Heatwave for a new heating and A/C unit. They recommended a Rheem unit to me and they installed that unit two years ago. Last week I called them for repair service and they came out and evaluated the A/C unit. This model (RCF2417STAMCA) has a history of a evaporator coil defect. It turns out that they switched from copper to aluminum coils. These Aluminum coils do not hold out under pressure. When my CO2 detector went off in the middle of the night I did not realize that the Freon had totally leaked out into my basement at that time and only realized that after talking to the technician. The cost for the repair was $1,127! The technician called the office and a representative was supposed to call me that day to see what he could to help me recoup some of this cost from Rheem. He did not call that day and still has not called me yet. How can Heatwave recommend a product that they know is defective? I am a very dissatisfied customer and would not recommend Heatwave nor would I recommend this Rheem product. read more

Always ask for an early appointment so that we can get our day going. Jake always shows up early and with a smile, we missed it this time because of the mask but could see it in his eyes. He's always thorough and runs all the necessary tests. Though our unit is 10 it still runs like new. We love our Trane and the service that Heatwave provides. WOW! Heatwave was amazing. I needed someone to come out and check on my furnace-- I didn't want to wake up one day and have it not work--haven't had it checked in a long time. Did a quick search and saw positive reviews for Heatwave and so glad I did. I love the text message confirmations and photo of the service personnel who is going to arrive (esp. being a single woman). I was so pleased with Anna (my tech) who was so patient with me and answered all of my in-depth questions about my system. We found a few things that needed some attention & got those squared away. Also had the recommendation to chat with someone about what a new system would be (mine is 20+ years old) with absolutely no pressure to buy anything today. A few hours later a sales person (also fantastic! Shout out to Brian!) who did an extremely through assessment of my home and gave me several options for replacement. I only ordered the small filters for the in the wall A.C. It took forever to get them and out if 3 sets only one set was a correct one. Now that they are here, it has been a very busy 2 weeks and we haven't had a chance to get out there to get them. read more

We are very satisfied with our experience with Heatwave Heating and Cooling and want to thank Brian for helping us select a Furnace, A/C, and Humidifier. Brian was Professional, not a pressure salesman, and very helpful in making suggestions so we could make the appropriate selection. He also helped us visualize the procedure that would be used in the installation. At 8am on the scheduled date our installer Bill started the installation process and we had heat by 1pm. The installation was completed in a Professional manner as outlined previously and looked picture perfect. When Bill completed the installation he then checked the furnace, humidifier, alarm system and hot water tank, and was also very helpful explaining the new special thermostat. Since the outside temperature was in the 30s, Bill suggested someone will come in late Spring to checkout the A/C.
