Dinner at My Thai Kitchen last night was delicious. We ordered the Salad rolls with shrimp, Pad Thai, and Drunken Noodles. All were delicious, but my favorite was the Pad Thai. Service was quick, waitress was very helpful when we asked a lot of questions, and the owner/chef made the rounds to all the customers just to say hi. Price for food was average for Thai food. I'm not sure where to start. The most upsetting thing to me was we ordered two sweet sticky rice with mango they told us that mangos were not in season in July and substituted the mango with banana and still charged the same price. It was gross. My husband ordered orange chicken and the quality of the chicken was terrible. I ordered pineapple curry with shrimp which had a lot of sauce but not much vegetables or shrimp. My husband also ordered pineapple fried rice and that was actually pretty good the Thai iced teas was ok as well. There has to be better places out there new to the area. read more

At first glanst this place looks like a dump its next to a little store and looks as if it may not even have seating but, DON'T GO AWAY!! This place is a diamond in the rough! Once you get past the front door you are amazed the place is actually charming inside! That however is not the best part, the part that grabs you is the food! It is excellent! For Longview WA. this place is terrific! The first time we went the place was full, there was a line to get, and there were people coming in continuously to pick up take out! When we came in the waitress was very dismissive. And the table we picked was still kinda dirty. The food overall was not bad, I ordered a large soup and my wife had the small. Honestly there didn't seem much of a difference other than the extra money we paid. However there was another server there that was VERY helpful and VERY friendly which made the experience a little better. I would try it again, but I am not in a hurry. read more

I had lunch here today, it was my first visit. It will definitely not be my last! The servers were very friendly, helpful and quick- and the owner/cook, Pam, was so kind and just a lovely person (from Thailand.) I look forward to talking with her again- such a warm personality, and a beautiful smile. The chicken coconut soup was excellent. It had all of the traditional ingredients that I was accustomed to in my former home of California. The shrimp rolls were good, the Thai tea was great, and the peanut sauce was amazing- maybe the best peanut sauce I have ever had. I couldn't get enough of it. For a small town like Longview, I am SO glad I discovered this gem of a restaurant. It's quiet and peaceful, and the decor is welcoming. Everything inside is immaculately clean, and the chairs are very comfortable too. I love the fact that the location is in a quiet neighborhood, instead of having a noisy business district buzzing with traffic outside. If you've been going to that 'other' Thai restaurant on the North side of town, you're missing out on the delicious, authentic food they create at My Thai Kitchen. The difference is night and day. The prices are very reasonable too. Trust me, give them a try. You won't be sorry. Update: I enjoyed my lunch so much, I went back for dinner the same evening. I'm new to town and was craving some amazing Thai food when I stumbled across this place. I had almost given up hope after trying the other places in town that I was going to find a great Thai place. It was night when I arrived, and from the outside, this place certainly looks a little sketchy, and as i opened the door, I'll admit O was a little fearful what would greet me. I was pleasantly surprised my the inside (don't judge a book by its cover). Inside, the staff was friendly and quickly took my to-go order. I ordered the Drunken Fried Rice, or what I usually know it as, Spicy Basil Fried Rice. It was soooooo good. It has a bit of a kick, but not overwhelming. Flavorful and all the vegggies cooked perfectly. I will most certainly be back. read more

Not sure what all the hype was about. I had heard how great this place is so took my family here. I knew the neighborhood and that it was very small. None of that bothered me. Plate presentation was lovely. Service was so-so. It was the food itself that I was really disappointed with. Lacking flavor. Potsticker dumplings were a poor quality frozen product. 2 of the dishes were unappealing and not good. Only one of the dishes we ordered was worth eating. I was working nearby and when I saw the sign for Thai food so close, I knew I would be stopping in for lunch. I wasn't disappointed. If you can foot the bill this is an excellent place to eat. You can tell by the constant flow of customers they have something special especially considering the location which isn't in an area with a lot of food services. 3rd visit what a disappointment I sat down with menus no silverware or napkins. Hubby ordered a 7up and me water. Waited 10 min for our order to be taken still no napkins silverware or drinks. Finally orders taken and drinks on the table appetizers came out not bad just ok. My meal came during the appetizers hubbys 5min later (entree's should always come at the same time and not during the appetizers ) still no napkins or silver ware had to ask for them. I ordered the special it was horrible inedible. I asked for them to take it back I had only taken 1 bite and asked for a different dinner it was delicious. No offer to refill our drinks. We had to get our own sauce and Chopsticks from the counter. Then the bill comes the meal i sent back was charged as well as the replacement meal FYI peeps if someone turns an uneaten meal back replace it don't charge them very bad customer service. The family next to us were asked how their meal was by the waitress the man said it us way to salty he replied she shrugged her shoulders and said hmmm and walked away no apology or offer to replace the meal or discount the bill horrible service. After my first visit here, I was looking forward to coming with my family (party of 4). So we went there this evening, for my birthday. It was pretty busy, but we got a seat within 5 minutes or so. However, at that the entire experience went south. Three tables came in after us, and were helped before we even had our orders taken. In fact the last table in were finishing their food before we even had ours. It took over 45 minutes for the waitress to take our order and it was 90 minutes before we had our food. We were served our food with no silverware. And we were the last table to even get water. After the massive wait, the fish was dry and overcooked, and the other food was hit or miss. I was then served a birthday ice cream with three spoons, two of which were dirty. Not to mention there were 4 of us. The server was clearly overwhelmed and not capable of handling the small number of tables in the restaurant. I certainly empathize to a point, but an hour and a half wait to get food is ridiculous. We were not offered a discount, nor anything other than a slight apology from the waitress. As much as I enjoyed my first visit, after this one, I would not recommend anyone attempt to eat here if it is even remotely busy. Both the food quality and sevice drop considerably, as the staff cannot seem to operate with any organization or speed. I initially had high hopes for this place, but now I feel that their poor service may keep them from gaining any traction, which is too bad. Longview could really use a great Thai restaurant. This one, unfortunately, is nowhere close to being it. read more

While I am certain the food is wonderful. My husband and I were excited to eat here on the 25th of August. Tables all full. We waited and a table cleared out. We sat for a good 15 minutes and still had no water served. Finally the waitress took our order. I asked for salad rolls. The waitress said they could not be made as they were too busy. So we ordered drunken noodles and pad thai. The waitress did not even ask how spicy. Waited for 40 minutes as salad rolls were served to a table next to us. I was really stunned. Then when I asked about our order the waitress said that our ticket got lost. I was very angry. How could we sit with 3 tables occupied, all came in after us, all being served food, and it did not dawn on this waitress our ticket was lost. Awful service. Not an apology or remedy for the situation. It was the worst service ever. read more

I really want to give this place 5 stars for the quality and flavor of their food, but the waitress is terrible so they only get 3. I would give the waitress a ZERO if that was an option. As a manager I have to wonder if she's part owner as I don't see any reason to keep someone that bad. I love, love, love Thai food and I have been searching high and low for any place North of Portland to match my favorite (Chai Thai) - so I was really excited when I read the write up in TDN about this place opening. I took half of my employees (5 of us total) to lunch at 11:30am, needing to reopen the office at 1pm I felt we had plenty of time. There was 1 table open so we made eye contact and got the nod to have a seat. After 15 minutes with no order, water or silverware I started to get irritated. 2 tables had left and were cleared with no service to us. Finally after watching her stare absently at her hands (as if to remember what she forgot) I saw the realization dawn and she rushed over and took our order. We are now 30 minutes in but I gave it an hour and a half so I was still hopeful. Just as I was about to get up and cancel our order - 20 minutes before the office was due to open - out came the first 3 dishes, 5 minutes later the last two arrived. I asked for boxes as she delivered the last of the order explaining that we needed to get back to the office. Rather than go get them she walked away and refilled someone's water! I was so irate that I had to work on some deep breathing. I went up to the counter, where she was standing and asked her to give me some boxes and run my card as I was buying for the group. It was purely out of etiquette that I tipped her the standard 10% - It's very typical for me to tip 20% -30% as I was in the service industry many years ago and still remember that it was the tips that fed my family. After all that, I liked the food well enough that after a 2 week cooling off period I decided to call in an order to go for the other half of my team (5 in total) - after my 3rd order the waitress interrupted me and I swear to you said; "Exactly how many orders do you have?" when I told her 5 total she sighed loud and long and replied "next?" Again, the etiquette of not disappointing the rest of my team prevented me from slamming the phone in her ear. It did not however prevent me from tipping zero dollars this time. I called in for pick up. I got yellow curry with beef, drunken combination fried rice, pad thai, and orange chicken. It was all pretty good. Tasted fresh, like many described on Yelp. There were a few things I didn't like about my order (not enough white rice, pad thai wasn't at all spicy, description of "drunken" dishes were a little confusing), but overall I can see there's definitely something great here. This is literally one of my favorite spots. If you haven't tried their curry then you definitely should. Especially pineapple curry, my favorite. The service was great as well. Every time I go it's never over crowded so it's a very chill place. The food also comes out at a reasonable time, not too fast and not too long. We have been needing a Thai place like this around here for a very long time! I had a hard time finding the phone number to order takeout, and their only menu online is on FB and hard to read since it is photographs taken of an actual menu. I made do and ordered Pad Thai (went for the classic just to see how they'd make it), Drunken Noodles, Pineapple Curry (all chicken) and then some fresh rolls for an appetizer. Everything was excellent. My husband and I are THRILLED! We can't wait to order again & try all new dishes. I bet they won't disappoint, either. Heard it was nice inside the restaurant, but no AC. Interesting place that is very understaffed for the amount of business they were doing while I dined in. One person was manning the phone, cash register, and waitressing while one other was delivering dishes to tables. Very nice staff just need more help. I was less than impressed with some standard dishes like shrimp tom Kha, tofu salad rolls, and tofu pad Thai. The tofu was battered and completely overcooked/spongey and noodles too sweet for my taste for the pad Thai. The giant salad rolls were not balanced as they contained ALOT of lettuce and came with peanut sauce covered in chili sauce. The tom Kha soup was just ok....a little sour and the shrimp questionable on freshness. Overall I probably will not come back as the food just didn't stand out. read more

Thanks to the Yelpers in Longview! Got in there early so busy wasn't an issue. The very nice woman took my order and took care of all my needs valiantly. She had a moment or 2 from her labors and took a couple minutes to B S. Very nice for an ol' war horse on the road, LOL. Nice little joint that you would never guess would be there. Very clean inside with all table seating. I had shrimp fresh rolls. These were beautifully presented. The rolls them selves were lacking a little. No noodles or parsley/coriander. Kinda plain. BUT, the peanut sauce is VERY good. Intense peanut without much sweetness. Added a bit of chili sauce and it was excellent. Calamari was perfect. Breading was thin and crispy good. Squid was perfectly cooked, tender and tasty and the dipping sauce is awesome. Finished with green curry. Very good curry. A bit too much coconut milk/cream for me. Very rich and perfectly seasoned to my specification. I had a 3 heat level. My wife would have thought it was too hot. I experienced the little bit of tingly lip thing, but no burn. Place is small and not ideally situated, and sometimes her phone/to go orders can make it appear that service is slower than you might think it should be. But watch Pam.
