On our last visit, a few Sunday nights ago, we popped in at dinner time on impulse and were seated immediately, though it's not a big space and it gets a lot of traffic. We walked through the little bar to the interesting and well-appointed dining room. I ordered a Singha beer and my wife got her standard Thai iced tea, very well made here. We split an appetizer of delicious crispy firecracker shrimp. She got her favorite, Pad Thai with shrimp, and I got mine, creamy green curry with chicken (I chose a 3 out of 4 on spiciness, which was close to my limit!). Both were terrific, As always, the service was efficient and polite. We haven't tried this place for carryout yet, because I think we just like sitting there so much. If you like the unique flavors of Thai food served cheerfully in a pleasant atmosphere, I think you'll like Thai Meric.

I got the Panang Curry with chicken. It came with Jasmine Rice and I ordered a side of the drunken noodles (just the noodles) to add into the curry sauce. This curry sauce was absolutely incredible. I could eat this for every meal. The noodles were made to perfection. 10/10 recommend. The place we lit well, smaller seating for the building. I would definitely recommend a reservation. I went with a group of 5, they took great care of our table! The staff and waitress were top notch, I don't think there was a moment I didn't have my cup filled with water!

The stirfry vegetables were not quite as spicy as I like, so I asked for extra spice and they brought it quickly. The restaurant itself is attractive and tastefully, decorated in a nice Asian decor. The bathrooms were spacious and clean. A total bill was $45 plus gratuity a little more expensive than our favorite downtown Frederick Thai restaurant, but to be fair it was Saturday and they did not offer a luncheon menu on weekends. A big plus was free parking. The downtown Thai restaurant that we frequently dine at requires street parking or parking garage parking. All in all, I would give this Restuarant 4.5 stars... It's not big or fancy inside - I think there are 5 or 6 tables, but we timed it right. We were quickly seated and waited on by a cheerful young lady. My wife had a very good Thai iced tea, We split a fine little order of savory chicken satay to start. She got her go-to Pad Thai with shrimp, and I tried a lunch combo with three things I've never had: a little papaya salad, terrific spicy drunken noodles with chicken, and a delightful mango sticky rice dessert. She judged her Pad Thai to be as good as she's ever had, and she's tried many. I thought the satay was a bit dry. The papaya salad was refreshing and interesting, the drunken noodles were firey and memorable, and I may have discovered a new favorite with the mango sticky rice. Everything was fresh and tasty. My only quibble was that the Spider Roll appeared to be fried surimi (artificial crab) not soft shell crab. How could I tell? No legs, baby! We rolled out stuffed, with a doggie bag full of sushi for Daddy Dearest's second dinner. The price was very reasonable, and the quality far better than Lantern Sushi (but not as good as Sushi Nomo or Lazy Fish). Most of the menu is Chinese, with very few Japanese options and even fewer Thai. They also no longer serve sushi, so if you see sushi photos online, be aware they're outdated. We placed our order and bought bottled sodas, only to find out they don't have ice, which my wife was not happy about. The food overall was great, with one exception: the General Tso's chicken. The sauce had no flavor and there were no scallions in it. The broccoli was cooked well and still firm. The pork dumplings and tempura shrimp were very good. The beef and chicken lo mein were also very good, especially the beef. The dining area was clean, but the tables have that slightly sticky finish. The counter area looks messy and unattractive -- a big downgrade from a few years ago when it looked great. Not sure why they're letting it slide. They also prompted for a tip, even though there's no table service. They did bring the food out after I tipped, but still -- the expectation felt off. Great food, but everything else was meh.

The rice (which is important to have) was not mushy! They are on our places to go to again. Plus I didn't try their hot and sour soup. It is (along with Clam Chowder, Fish and Chips) one of my go-to foods.
