I have thick hair, but did not think it was necessary to take two hours, and constantly comment on the amount of it. She originally said it would be $35, but the price kept going up. I had shoulder length hair going in, and I ended up paying $60, excluding the tip. Recently, I wanted wispy bangs so I decided to go to Earl Knight because it is local. I made an appointment the day before for 12:15pm. I got there the next day 10 minutes early and wasn't even acknowledged by the hairstylist (Kaytlyn). I sat down and observed the haircut she was performing. As she was cutting hair, she took multiple personal phone calls, which in my opinion was very unprofessional. Not to mention her foul mouth and attitude toward those she was talking about. Finally at 12;45 I asked Tori if she had any openings for a bang trim because I recognized a Dad and His two sons had an appointment at 12:30 and I did not want to keep them waiting longer than had. Tori told me that she did not have openings and once again restated that I had such thick hair, bangs would look like a mullet on me. It's really not that thick at all. Kaytlyn overheard our conversation and asked what I was saying. After she was told that I had a bang trim at 12:15 and reminded that it was nearly 1:00, she turned to me and told me that she has three haircuts ahead of me after the fade she was already working on. When I asked what time the haircuts were scheduled for, she told me "12:30 but they are a walk in" I then said "oh okay, well mine was at 12:15." The Dad then started that his appointment was scheduled ahead of time and was after me. Kaytlyn ignored him and told me that she was going to finish the haircut she was doing and then start on the boys and then get to me. Are you serious?! She proceeded to tell me that I can stay and wait or go get lunch or Starbucks and then come back for my cut when she was ready. By now it was past 1pm and I did not have any desire to get my haircut when it worked for her. it was $15 trim and she pushed me aside to get to the customers who were paying more. Yes any hair dresser can throw bleach on, but not all care about the integrity of your hair, and are honest with you on the results and it doesn't come out yellow or orange. I looked at the photos and loved what I saw. The ladies hair was blonde AND healthy! This was perfect! I booked my appt which was really easy, I inquired and received a phone call right away from Alonso. I gave him all my information, my inspo pic and what my hair was at now. Alonso was warm, welcoming and I could tell he enjoyed what he does and was excited. I came in to my appointment and from the minute I walked in the hospitality was unlike any other. I was offered food, drinks, consistently asked if I was okay and comfortable which really matters. I had been going to another salon for two years, which I won't mention the name and for two years, I was not ever able to get exactly what I was looking for and was told it wasn't possible or we will "work towards that", let's be honest hair coloring isn't cheap and who wants to pay hundreds of dollars for something they aren't satisfied with?! Not me. In one visit Alonso was able to give me exactly what I was looking for and was extremely honest with me and gave me multiple options and prices upfront, which was extremely important. I have gone to other salons where you get your hair done. It is somewhat like you had hoped and the prices are astronomical and you have no choice, but to pay it because the work is already done. I was extremely impressed with his honesty as well as the options provided, depending on what my budget was. We both chose an option that suited my situation and he showed me just some of what he can do and I am so excited for next visit and what else he can achieve with my hair. I love it already and can only imagine when it's all completed! The salon is adjacent & combined with a flower shop, which who doesn't want to smell and look at beautiful flowers while getting their hair done. First off everyone there was extremely friendly and welcoming. It only took me one visit for me to make the choice of this to be my new go to salon. My blonde hair was pulling a lot of golden color, which I absolutely hated and Alonso was very honest with me on the results that would be provided without over promising me and just telling me what I wanted to hear which I was very thankful for. I wanted to go from golden blonde with multiple dimensions of golden to a pure more icy blonde. It's not easy finding the exact results you want with blonde without frying your hair and omg I absolutely love my hair and have already booked my next follow up appointment. I am a girl who uses getting my hair done as my treat for myself as I don't do my nails or anything else so getting my hair done is a really big deal for me.
