Such a wonderful experience. Gary was thoughtful, kind, and took the time to understand what we really had envisioned for the final product. Though the location was busy and there were a number people waiting, he never made us feel rushed and took his time with us, but also genuinely greeted the others around us, making sure they knew he was aware of them and was ready to take care of them after us. He helped us understand our plethora of options and made sure we got what we wanted. He also helped us with some savings, helping us save some money to go towards our future framing projects. I was looking for pellets to fill small stuffies that I'm making. I was able to find 2 bags in the clearance section. Yeah, at least the price was right! This is a pretty small store and they have zero fabric! I headed to a self checkout kiosk and my total was less than the reward credit I had earned from previous visits. I went to ask a salesgirl if the remaining credit amount will still show up on my account and she said that it would. And it did! She was busy blowing up balloons and barely even looked at me. The whole experience left me feeling kind of detached. Very little human interaction and what interaction I had, I initiated.

My first impression of the building and studio was that it was a bit outdated and the inside of the studio looked older and less clean compared to many of the other studios I've visited. My girlfriend and I arrived about ten minutes earlier in hopes to get settled in and find a picture to paint. I was a bit disappointed to find that the studio was closed when we arrived. The instructor arrived about 5 minutes late for the start of class so it felt rushed getting the paints and everything set up for class. The canvases that were given to us were thin so I won't be able to hang this up unless I get it framed. This class gives you the freedom to choose what you want to paint opposed to everyone working on the same painting and the instructor goes step-by-step to guide you through the painting. As I am not a very artistic person, I found it to be a bit daunting having to paint the entire painting myself without specific guidance and step-by-step instructions. The instructor was funny and kept us entertained throughout the class. My friend and I still had an enjoyable girls night out but I really wish the studio was cleaner and the canvases were thicker and of better quality.

I was directed to the framing department and there I got the help from an employee named Janice. She was amazing to say the least. She informed me on the sale, grabbed the perfect frames, framed everything I needed, sold me on another frame for a future project, and all while keeping great conversation. I'm not the type to do these things so I'll definitely be back to get help on my next projects.

Despite Walmart reintroducing branding focused on friendliness and assistance, the in-store experience does not reflect that message. The store delivers well on pricing and clearance deals, but shoppers should not expect proactive service or engagement.
