Great shop to walk into and be surprised by products they have for sell. I personally was fascinated by the roll on bracelets! These bracelets are beautiful and amazing. No matter the size of your hands they will roll over your hand to the wrist. At 5$ a piece it's worth finding the colors you like. Such fun! I bought 6 of these roll-on bracelets. Worth every penny! They have an area dedicated to children only. That's awesome. This visit I only saw adults. This is one of the most unique stores in Historic McKinney. They carry handmade, Fair Trade items from over 40 countries around the world. Every Item in the store benefits artisans directly. I find this respectful and liberating! Fair Trade decreases individuals dependency on aid in a dignified and long-lasting way. Shops like this help end cycles of poverty not only for families, often entire communities. It gives developing regions a respectful alternative that often preserves cultural crafts and traditions. This type of shop is a win-win for all. I love the concept of this cute little store in downtown McKinney. My boys and I stop here every time we visit downtown McKinney. There are so many things to see in this store. It's the perfect store for one of a kind, handmade items to gift to family and friends. I love that it is locally owned and that they carry a wide range of items that are made by people all over the world! The best thing about it is that they work only with businesses that have fair trade agreements. This store was such an awesome surprise! I found it after having coffee across the street and read that the store is completely fair trade. I asked my husband if he wouldn't mind going in there with me and we both were so impressed. My husband and I just returned from China to visit family where labor laws and working conditions are real life issues in the lives of our friends and family. There is such great peace of mind that comes with shopping here! The selection is excellent. The product range includes thins like jewelry, clothes, toys, home decor, and even chocolate! I don't know where to start. My family and I were looking for companies who do extensions. That was when I came upon the company F&S from one of our neighbors who were doing some fixes at there house and it was a coincidence because we saw a lot of commercial work done in Facebook and other pages as well. When approaching the house we saw workers who had a different logo on the uniform and thought they were from the same company. But didn't know they were from other companies who were contracted by F&S. So anyways before knowing that we decided to give it a try because we were looking for a company who does house renovations. We called and there was a scheduled time where they would take a look at the house and give us a price. At the time prices for house renovations were very high and we spent a long time searching for a company who will give you a somewhat reasonable price. The inspectors had come to look over what we wanted to renovate and extend and how much it would cost. The manager Rob had taken a look at it and were going to give us a call back on how much it would cost. Later I had finally received a call not so long and there was an estimate of a pretty reasonable price. We thought that we finally came upon that company who gives you a reasonable price that we can afford it and that the job was set. But later that week I had received another call that the manager is bringing the contract to finally set everything but when he arrived and showed me the contract the price he showed me was doubled from what he offered at first when he called. I didn't like that but I went with it because we had been wanting this renovation for a while and saw good reviews on other pages so I was confident of picking this company. Some of us get how now the prices for renovations are very high and want a renovation for our place and how long it takes to find a company who does these renovations. It took a while from when the project was to start and until then we got orders of supplies delivered to the house. But the day finally came. As an owner of the house and wanting a good renovation to our place we were so excited. But I didn't know that this was going to be a start of a complete mess and wish I never contracted F&S. F&S is a complete screw up, a complete mess, and poorly organized. They are seen as a good company but it is all commercial. F&S hires other companies to do the work for them and better and as seen smaller companies who know what they are doing and should deserve all the credit for it. All they do is contract the companies and are doing all of the manpower of the project. The manager of the entire project who is Rob is very disrespectful and untrustworthy. He has no word and is a very nasty and aggressive person. He and his F&S crew are all liars of the purposed plan of the project. Everything that was planned for the project at the beginning is all a lie and have no word for it because they change everything up and stay saying that it was "never in the project" and they can't do anything about it. When they take anything away like furniture or doors they don't care to take it out with care. If they break anything they say that it wasn't there problem and that "is normally what happens in renovations". The company feels very superior and are very racist people even though the people who do more of the work within the crew are Latin's and know what they are doing but they are very disrespectful towards there crew as well. They do everything with rush and don't care if it is done correctly or not. The manager never comes to take a look at how everything is looking only the crew and when you tell the crew to change something please because it is not well put all they say is they can't do anything without talking to Rob so I tell them to let him know and Rob says he will only do it if I pay him extra money and asks for a ridiculous price for something that they messed up. As well as I get another idea that I want to install and ask Rob to do it he asks for way more extra money and when I ask the companies that are hired by F&S of how much it will cost to install something they say that is a price way and beyond exaggerated. Please be aware in hiring this company because if you do hire this company you will regret because you will end up spending extra. Finally nothing that was promised from the beginning was not done exactly at the end and make sure everything that they plan on doing in the beginning to write it because that was my mistake because they change everything. read more

Absolutely one of the best brick and mortar ethically sourced shops I've ever visited. The staff is exceptionally knowledgable and friendly. The prices are very reasonable and the selection is vast. Nestled in historic downtown McKinney, Fair and Square Imports sells fair trade items from 3rd world countries around the world. This is my favorite place to shop for birthday and Christmas gifts, and I love picking up jewelry for myself. The prices are surprisingly reasonable, and it feels so good knowing that my purchase is benefiting someone less fortunate in another part of the world. I also have some staple items from Fair and Square that I purchase on a regular basis, including their fair trade coffee, chocolate, tea, and brownie mix.
