From a value standpoint, it's impressive and well worth checking out. Customer service, however, remains a weak point. Employees did not greet or acknowledge customers, even when making eye contact. Despite Walmart reintroducing branding focused on friendliness and assistance, the in-store experience does not reflect that message. I've been a Walmart+ member for over 5 years and have always trusted Walmart for my family's shopping. But right now, I'm heartbroken and frustrated. My account was suddenly banned over a "returns violation" I was never even told about. Since Thursday, every order I've tried to place has been canceled. Because of this, I've missed the Texas state tax-free weekend--a time that really helps families like mine save on important purchases. My first visit to this location as all items on shopping list in stock. I initially was turned off with setup as finding aisle B6 was challenging (tucked away and not accesible from main aisle). After grabbing last item on list, I browsed and was shocked to see a large garden and craft section. Thank goodness I did not have a shopping cart as I would've grabbed several planters and stands I did not need (first time seeing such a wide variety at a Walmart). There was also a $1 section at front of store very similar to competitor. With my closest location remodeling and this location's layout/concept, it makes me wonder if Walmart is looking to improve my love/hate relationship with them. The missing shelf price labels and numerous workers too busy talking in middle of aisle for a 'hello' tells me it won't be a total love/love relationship but definitely a happy medium. read more

On my way to my co-worker and his family's house near Dallas, TX, I wanted to buy a couple gift cards to go with the chocolates that I had bought for him and his family the day before. The first Wal-Mart I saw was this one so I stopped by. I ended up getting 2 gift cards, Olive Garden + a few other restaurants and Dairy Queen (you can't have dinner without ice cream afterwards LOL... okay, yes you can, but why not make it yes you will LOL). Wal-Mart in TX is no different than Wal-Mart in CA. I didn't walk around the store, but it was very clean and bright. I just used the self-checkout and transaction went smooth. I actually was hesitant to use self-checkout for gift cards, but it worked like a charm. Thanks Wal-Mart for making it easy! read more

I mostly work at night and go home around midnight during the week. This makes me a prime customer for Walmart since they are open 24/7. I can hit this Walmart on the way home late at night and it's very easy to get in and out of. This Walmart seems to be one of the bigger ones (I don't know how accurate that statement is) and they usually have what I need. Honestly, I enjoy coming here late at night because it's not wall to wall people. The one thing that is tricky is that they shut down the self check out registers around midnight and if you are there at the exact time they are working with the registers, it can get bogged down. It's a good Walmart and the produce department is in front and always seems to be well stocked. They re-stock late at night when I am there, so I have to dodge the pallets and boxes, but it's not a big deal. This is my main Walmart, especially at night. read more

Disclaimer: This review is for the grocery pick-up only. The Walmart app allows you to grocery shop, including quantities and such, filling your "cart" like the real one in the store. Before you get there, though, you choose your Walmart, select an available pick-up time, and then fill your cart. The app can tell where you are, if you have location services on, and will help you identify the Walmart nearest to you. So far, I've had pretty good luck with available pick-up times--you should be able to get a time the next day, and if you do it early enough in the day, possibly even same-day (that's happened to me a couple times). You enter a credit card number to pay for your order, and while reviewing your order, you can select which items (or not) you'll allow Walmart to make substitutions on. If weighable items are included (e.g. produce), Walmart will give you their best guess on the price, but state that the final price will depend on the true weight. On every order I've placed so far, they've usually overestimated by just a bit, and my final order was slightly less than the total provided at checkout. When your order is ready, they can text or email you, and the app can alert you also. You "check in" on the app when you're headed their way, and based on your location it calculates for you (and them) when you're expected to arrive. You can also provide your car color. The diagram of the Walmart in the app displays to you which side of the building the grocery pick-up is located. When on the property, orange signs point you toward the grocery pick up area. Park in a reserved spot (orange signs) and an employee will come out to greet you and take it from there. This place was so terrible today. My wife waited 2 hours for her grocery pick up. She ordered $180 worth of items just for them to tell her she only ordered 2 things. How can that many things be out of stocks. They just told her sorry we can't do anything about it. NEVER USE THEIR GROCERY PICKUP. we both tried calling someone to ask why it was taking so long and no one answers their phone in the entire store. After calling every department I was able to get transferred to a manager who said he would go check on her which he never did. Glad they treat their customers so well. read more

You make eye contact greet the customer, go out of the way to look up and make eye contact. Don't pretend to be busy. Ignoring and purposely walking away to not help a customer is not good for business. But what the hell people come in anyway so why push these great qualities on to employees. Everything about this store says F U to the customer. They took out all the checkouts and put self serve only, sporting goods has dwindled to pretty much no hunting supplies and vegetables are the worst I've ever seen. Don't even think about using curbside pickup for groceries because half the order will say unavailable, but if you go inside, it's right there on the shelf. I've sent pics and emails to Corporate and they always punt back to the local store. Walmart is turning into a large Dollar General store. read more

Crossroads Walmart has excellent curbside service. Staff is friendly, fast, courteous, and efficient. They take time to ask how you want eggs or bread handled (up front or with other groceries). On the rare occasion that something is not as it should be, Walmart customer service will take care of it and issue a refund/response quickly. This review is specifically for curbside pickup. I placed my order without issue and even received an email it was ready 15 minutes early. There was a follow up that 3 of the items I ordered were out of stock. I was prepared to adjust to this. However, when we arrived we learned NOTHING was ready and the store was clearly accepting more orders than they were capable of filling in a timely manner. The line for pickup was over TWO HOURS! No one offered any explanation or apology. After being in the stall an hour and noticing cars that arrived after us were departing, I approached the window. I learned my items were never ready and were still being pulled! There was a man there for their delivery service. God bless him, he was still trying to fill an order from 4 hours earlier! The manager said it had "been like this all day." This means that despite being severely behind, they were communicating to customers everything was timely, causing a larger backlog. Again, no explanation or apology to the multitude. In the middle of this convo, it started to thunder and the manager said she couldn't send her crew to the cars until it had stopped for 30 minutes. While I can appreciate their safety protocol, I had no more time to waste on the broken process. I cancelled my order and went to the grocery store down the street with my dreams of staying out the 38 degree weather shot to bits. I've never done curbside pickup before. I may try this service at another location, but this one clearly has organizational and communication issues. Online order yesterday (minimum of $30) all I really needed was toilet paper. I bought other things just to be able to order 2 pkgs of toilet paper. I am not hoarding just need to get through the week. Instead of fulfilling my order today when they received a truck of goods, they cancelled the toilet paper on my order and put it all out on the shelves. It was gone about a minute before I arrived to pick up the items I didn't really need. I had already paid and planned ahead, patiently. Now I'm annoyed. Just when I thought Walmart had reached the worst level of customer service possible, they have found a way to make it worse. Walmart had just finished putting in many more self service checkouts, which I thought would be a good thing and speed up checking out. However, I was going to checkout with a big cart of things, which I would never want to check out myself, and they had no one, not one cashier working. I have since been back, as has my wife, and we have never seen a cashier working. I am thinking maybe I should fill out an application. If I am going to do their work for them, I should get paid for it. I find this incredible. I will not go back unless I only need one or two items. I would like to encourage everyone else to do the same. The other grocery stores are not much more expensive, and I think it is well worth it. I would encourage everyone to write a review. Garbage pickup process. I ordered something and drove in to pick it up, but they said I had to go into the store to do so. Okay, no biggie, maybe I misread the email. I asked which door I should go through to get to pickup the fastest, and she said it doesn't matter. I took her word for it and went to one of the entrances- wrong one. The other door was literally a straight shot back, whereas I had to navigate groceries, clothing, and electronics to get there. No one manning the desk, but the door was propped open so I could hear the employees chatting and not helping. They had a little "press for assistance" touchscreen, which I did, only for it to turn off five minutes later. I touched it again, same deal. Third time, four employees walk past me and ignore me when I ask for help. Fourth press and I finally got someone. My order was relatively large, but it was all in boxes that I originally expected to be able to handle myself. Employee asked if I had a buggy, to which I said no, and he laughed. There was no offer of assistance except for a bag, which wouldn't have done me any good given the size of the boxes. Garbage Walmart, garbage pickup experience, garbage staff. Maybe pay attention when someone presses the help button next time instead of sitting around in the back chatting and ignoring the person you keep walking past. read more

Another attempt at Groc delivery. Another " Door Dash" dismal failure. My email 1147 alerts me the groc are " on their way" . So I move to front to sit and wait, clear view of driveway. Ready to take my delivery . 1205 , I'm still waiting but I get a message " driver outside" and " groc. Delivered!" Aah! NOPE! Nobody here, and certainly NO GROC.!! 4 frustrating calls. Endless ringing. No body picking up. Even on the preferred pickup/ delivery #. 2 calls to rhe 1800 # and finally Wal-Mart.com. story " EMER" tje driver told changed with each person I talked to. Car issue ? But he drove * back to store? Then it was ",he walked back WITH the entire order"??? Did he have a cart?? How long were my groc in sun? Why did he say he had " arrived" and then further claim to have " delivered" them? He said he walked them back before 12 but texted delivery @ 1205? What a racket!! Then they said we will send it back out! New driver is...EMER! WTH?? the same guy who JUST lied about car failure? And already delivering? 40 min. What's to say? It's Walmart. Definitely the nicest Walmart in McKinney, to date. When I go in, I usually get my kiddo a happy meal. Surprisingly the McDonald's here is better than most of the other locations in McKinney. The shelves are stocked well, and in my experience usually fresh, especially bread and dairy items. I love the cash back app, and use it every time I shop. I've earned over $200 back shopping for normal stuff. The only downside to this Walmart is the parking lot and entrance from the roads. It's located in a really high traffic area. I'm always afraid of getting in a wreck. But - then again - it's Walmart. Busy Busy. read more
