We have a six month old who is at the "put everything in my mouth" phase, so we figured it would be a worth while investment. We went straight for the otter box and life proof cases because of their reputation and the salesmen said they were "military grade" and that "a hummer could roll over it and it would be fine." I then began to ask the people if the warranty covered phone or just the case. The gentleman helping us didn't know, so he asked the other man working. He went on to say that yes, otter box would cover both the phone and case. My husband found the Otterbox Amor for his phone and asked them to put the case on because we were interested in buying it. This is where things went wrong. The guy did not know (we found out later) how to put the case on and may have even sold us the wrong case for the iPhone 5S. (No where in the Otterbox case does it say for what phone it was intended.) Within seconds of handing us our new, super protect, can be run over by a car phone, my baby is sucking on the phone and drops it. I go to pick up the phone and it is SHATTERED. The phone was put in incorrectly and the pressure from the home button shattered it all up the phone. The guys were both in shock and knew that they had messed up, but all they would do was offer to fix our newly cracked phone for $65 instead of $85. At that point, the manager came out and told us that the phone was not covered. The little man who told us the phone was covered cowered into his little corner and avoided us at all costs, much less admitting that what he told us was wrong. I tried to reason with them and even agreed that it was a shitty situation, but I never felt that they were doing anything to go above and beyond to better the situation. They simply saw an opportunity to make money and took full advantage of it. After a bit of arguing, we left with no phone cases, a cracked phone, a pissed off husband, and a wasted Sunday afternoon. We ended up going down to t-mobile to fix the phone and buy a phone case. Ironically, the cases at the t-mobile store were cheaper (lesson learned!), plus I found a 30% coupon online that they honored in store! (I totally recommend the Tech21 cases!)

Not interested in simply tossing a few days pay to the wind, I objectively decided to seek another avenue. Fortunately I recalled this little store down the way. The worst that could happen is needing to grab something else in the easier price range. It doesn't take long for Sam (the manager) to understand the situation and diagnose an affordable option. The phone was dead. Nothing to lose, but my time for a phone out of warranty. 25 minutes later I reappear to find Sam using an associate's nimble hands along side his. Together they were finishing the job. With great shock, I am surprised the phone actually worked!!! Really!! #€¥|* amazing! Imagine the relief! No really, try! Yes, I am happy! Hey, I know it's not the original supplier products. Remember it's out of warranty. This baby works! Thank you, Sam! I'm happy to refer this location for service. Okta took the time to place all the precautionary measures within the swap of thermals to protect my Motherboard in full (kapton tape and oil application for the pad) I will be evaluating this for the next couple of days to see if the the temps remain stable but to be honest initial overview of the temps are fantastic! When I brought it here to CPR, they showed me that it was actually the screen protector and not the actual screen. They quoted me $25 for a new phone protector and offered to put it on for me right there. I was so grateful! When I asked if the other places would know that they said, "Of course, they were trying to take advantage of you!" I had been loyal ever since. The Bad: Fast forward to now (about 10 years later),... I hate to say it but I believe greed has gotten the best of them. I went there a few months ago to repair my iPad screen. It was $260! I went twice last week asking for a quote to submit to insurance both times they took down my information (on a "sticky note") and told me the owner would email or text me a quote within a day or two. I just had a feeling those sticky notes go directly in the trash. Here it is a week (& several follow ups) later and no one has contacted me or knows anything about my previous request(s). My advice,.. pretend you are interested in getting the repair asap, otherwise, I'm quite sure they just throw it in the trash.

As a product, I was intrigued by a military grade film that would protect my precious check-in machine. A bulky shell just wouldn't cut it, plus it would render my car cradle useless ( too big to fit). A protective film seemed to be the right choice. Issues - After a few months I noticed peeling of the edges of the film. I knew this was a possibility when I bought this product based on user reviews. I was told this was covered under their warranty. I'm a little skeptical on the warranty because the guy selling the shield was writing down names and phone numbers on notebook paper. Hopefully it was entered into a database. It took a while to get used to the touch of the film. Touch movements felt lethargic at first. I've also found the shield to be more difficult to clean. If the droid screen gets stained it's more difficult to wipe it off. The good - It protected my droid as advertised.. The film has a few dings and scratches, but the non covered areas are all torn up. So is it worth it? At full price, no.. They have discounted the product since my purchase so it's worth considering again. You'll have to try out their demo phones to see how the touch responds to your expectations.

But Apple North County continues to be my go-to location. I hate to use the Goldilocks analogy but here we go. The parking is just right (vs UTC where it's not free or Fashion Valley where it's ... not available). The size is just right (has everything but not so huge and crowded that it's like a high tech DMV). Lastly, the staff here are really the best. At a recent Genius Bar appointment, they greeted me at the door, had anticipated who I was and had me set up with an expert in such a fluid way that it felt akin to magic. There's such a wonderful lack of friction at this location that it makes going to the mall fun again. Props to Genius Dylan, btw. This is the kind of experience that sets Apple apart.

Microsoldering / board level repair work is getting harder to find…read morethese days, but from the first few messages we exchanged I could tell Oktay was the right person for the job. He helped with a logic board repair on an M2 MacBook air, and the laptop is working great. He was also able and willing to try a completely different board repair project I had available that most shops wouldn't even be willing to look at. It's truly a breath of fresh air to work with someone who appreciates electronics and is able to save parts that otherwise tend to end up as e-waste. Considering Apple and other big tech companies only seem to push people to spend as much money as possible replacing full assemblies + endless parts etc (that are all glued together) this is why the right to repair is so important and we 100% need shops like this to exist.
