I sampled their Peppered and their Teriyaki, before I asked her what the most popular ones were. She suggested the Peppered Honey and the Sweet and Spicy- both were glorious! Those are the two we went with- the Peppered Honey had a nice peppered sweet balance and the Sweet and Spicy has a delicious kick of heat and the end. Leslie was so kind and took us around on a tour of all of their offerings, giving her personal suggestions and customer favorites. I appreciated that touch of customer service that is just non-existent and most grocery stores in their meat departments. Her service alone made us customers for life- thank you! Pro Tip: In talking with Leslie I mentioned that it was our first time there- she let us know that they serve a hot "Brat of the Day" and new customers get one on the house. We were serves the Beer Brat on a stick and it was delicious. So if you're a newbie, like me, mention it to a staff member when you check out for a meaty treat :)

In a glass bottle with the cream floating at the top! We had a houseguest a couple weeks ago and he really liked the milk. Turns out he may be lactose intolerant. He did enjoy the milk though. When she finally decided to assist us, her attitude was condescending and rude. What made the experience even more uncomfortable was that I felt racially profiled when I simply asked how much a slice of strawberry shortcake cost. After telling me the price, she immediately questioned whether I could afford it or if I still wanted it, which I found insulting and inappropriate. To make matters worse, the slice of cake was not worth the $9 price tag. Between the poor service, disrespectful treatment, and disappointing product, I have no intention of returning. There are plenty of bakeries that treat their customers with courtesy and respect--this is not one of them.

We recently purchased a smoker and were so excited to smoke some meat on the upcoming weekend. We decided on buying meat from a butcher to smoke. Looked up nearby places on the internet, and the only one open near us was Top Choice Meats. They received great reviews, so we decided to give them a shot. They're located in a strip mall with plenty of parking available. We were greeted as we walked in (always a good sign). The inside was very clean and organized. The young lady who helped us was super helpful and knowledgeable with all questions asked. We decided on a brisket, but the one in the case was around 8 lbs, which was way too big for just the two of us. She offered to cut it in half. Perfect! We got home, made a rub, and smoked it for about 4 hrs on 250°. Once the internal temperature reached 195°, we removed it to let it rest for about an hour. We sliced it and wow, oh wow, it was outstanding! The flavor of the meat was amazing. We were very happy with our first smoke. Since our first visit was great, we came back this weekend for steak and brats! We would definitely recommend this butcher. We look forward to trying more cuts of meat in the future.
