If you are looking for property management, avoid at all costs. My condo complex pays them to manage but whenever there's an update, they rely on the residents to monitor the work and refuse to accept any responsibility for scheduling, monitoring, and basically doing anything except taking our dues. In the most recent example, I was forced to schedule and be home for a city water meter update on the building because my unit is closest to the meter, even though the work being done applied to the entire building. Myers says it's my responsibility as the homeowner even though I do not own the area where the update occurred. It's the property's. They are the property management. If they are not actually managing the property, what are we paying them for? This review says "service requested" but they will not respond as they say that it's not their fault the city needs to update. Since I said they were obtuse in thinking my problem is with the city water, they said I am name-calling and they will not reply further. If you feel like being ignored, purposely being misunderstood, doing the work of the property manager for free, and throwing away your money, by all means go with Myers. read more

Myers Real Estate is such a bad property management company. They manage a multi-building housing complex in Grandview. For 3 months, Myers Real Estate has been totally unresponsive regarding a safety hazard in the complex. Here's the deal: At the beginning of March a brick wall collapsed at the complex (the collapsing wall borders a sidewalk that people use to get to their homes). Thankfully no one was hurt or on the sidewalk when the wall fell. In the aftermath, bricks were strewn about the sidewalk and up in front of the homes. It's now June, and nothing has been done about this. The wall is unsafe and leaning. At a minimum the bricks should be cleaned up and removed and the wall should be taken down. It's clearly not structurally stable. I cannot believe Myers Real Estate would allow this type of continuing danger to us. It's been 3 months...and still has not been addressed. read more

Like I said in a previous review, I tried to get back into a KRG property when I moved back to Columbus but it was not available. I ended up going with a property run by Myers. I'm a fan of old buildings turned into units- think crown molding, original heavy oak doors, etc., and this company seems to have the pick of the litter in Grandview. Comparatively speaking, I believe that KRG takes much better pride in their properties and overall aesthetic in terms of maintaining grounds, etc. Myers doesn't do a BAD job necessarily, but could certainly do more. Also, unlike KRG, they seem to be a bit less organized. On the plus side, they are very friendly and generally very helpful. They have just changed the payment policy though and now you have to mail your payments to Cleveland instead of dropping them off locally. Only a minor headache. read more

I just moved into a Myer's rental unit last week, and it has been anything but smooth. To tour the unit, they just give you the keys and let you go see it yourself, which is nice but it means there's no one to ask questions about. When I got back to the office with some questions about the unit, they couldn't answer any of them -- none of the people who work there had even seen the unit, which is especially odd given that Myer's owns the unit. I really liked the aesthetic of the unit, besides its rough patches, and so I applied. They were more than happy to take my holding fee but the smiles stopped there. Even though the unit was available "immediately" they couldn't even give me a timeline for when I could move in. They kept telling me it needed to be cleaned, etc. but that they had no idea when they could get to it. I eventually forced them to set a day and stick to it. At 5 pm on the Friday before my Monday morning lease signing, they email me telling me I haven't paid the last month's rent (when I had) and I couldn't get a hold of anyone until Monday morning. They seem to make a habit of sending out bad news at the close of business on Friday. After moving into the unit, I started to keep track of things that needed attention and let Myer's know. The issue is, the people we're allowed to talk to at the company have no clue about the property, so they just relay my requests to a "property manager" meaning it takes forever just to get a straight answer. Here's just a few of the items I asked about and the responses I got: There's a broken window in the living room of my apartment (I didn't notice until I'd moved in, and the cracks are just covered in tape): they won't fix it. Not that they can't, they just don't want to. Not worth their time. There's a gas pipe in the fireplace but no burner. Can we get a burner attached for the winter (I even offered to pay for it): no, that rusty pipe in your fireplace is "purely decorative". The garage, where I need to park my car, is still locked and they can't find the keys for me. They say I'll get them soon, but I'm not sure how long I want to hold my breath on that one for. They also don't have the keys to the mailbox for my unit. The cabinets in the kitchen don't have handles or knobs on them and they're very difficult to open. I offered to install handles myself, at my expense, they told me I wasn't allowed to. Not only do they refuse to maintain their own property, they won't let you do it yourself. All in all, the people who I talk to are nice enough and I have no complaints about any of them. This is clearly an issue with the entire company, it reeks of apathy from head to toe. The most glaring demonstration of this: one of the desks at the front office has a nametag on it that clearly states "Not My Problem". I think that sums up the entire company's mentality. I wouldn't recommend renting from them from my experience, and I have a hard time believing that buying property from them would go any better. read more

DON'T DO IT! First, the duplex side we moved into had been empty over six months, but there were still a bunch of things they hadn't fixed (incl a monstrously loud 1960s heating system that an HVAC student friend and the contractor they finally sent both laughed out loud at, and a completely detached shower head Myers said "still worked"). That finally got fixed after a zillion calls, as reluctant as they seemed to want to update anything, seemingly thanks to the responsible owner. Then we had neighbors in the other side so viciously embroiled in domestic violence and regular 4 AM screaming that half the block was calling the police, and a huge pitbull next door barking at all hours in our no-dogs house. It took a super long time, like eight months, for them to be removed, finally occurring after police surrounded the house and busted down the door. I get that evictions take time, but there were so many lease-breaking things being complained of over and over again. So we're in the clear? Nope. Today, out of the blue, we get a paper notice shoved in our screen door handle that after over a year of paying rent early every month, INCLUDING THIS MONTH, we are being evicted for nonpayment with 3 days to move out. Guess what happened? THEY JUST DIDN'T SEE OUR PAYMENT, which was as always, several days early. They went to immediate three-day-notice eviction, (proving that they can manage quick evictions after all), didn't double check anything on their end or try to call us. There was no professional apology when my husband called and they easily located our payment, instead the woman was super rude to him like it was no big deal. Then, my husband finally gets through today to the owner to ask how we can be sure our payments will not be lost in the future, and MYERS YELLS AT HIM, talks over him the whole time when my husband wasn't even heated, saying stuff like "listen here this is how this conversation is going to go" and "I'll give you five seconds to hand the phone back back over before I hang up" like are you not trying to maintain a good business here? I have never heard of customer service like this before, DO NOT RENT HERE. It's one thing to have to fight for repairs, another to deal with bad neighbors, and another to have lost payments and a surprise eviction notice, but a whole new level to have a company be horrifically unprofessional and rude about their huge mistake. It's just a lot, you'd be better renting somewhere else if you can. read more

Horrible. As a Realtor I would not ever recommend this "management" company. They seem to only exist to collect fees and offer very little service for over $200/mo in condo fees. Since moving here, I have dealt with neighbors who are loud all hours of the day and night, they do not follow by-laws or even city laws and smoke weed constantly- to the point where it has permeated through walls and stinks up MY home. It can also be smelled outside of their unit! I have complained to Myers several times over the last year and a half and they have done nothing about it. I am an owner here, I do not rent, or I would simply move. My next step will involve an attorney. If you don't want to throw your money away- stay away from this management company! read more

Overall, our 2 and a half years of experience with Myers Realty was fair. The application and signing processes were smooth. When not needed, Myers did not involve themselves with us as tenants. However, when we did need them for service requests, lawn care, etc. they were delayed. Small service requests were handled promptly, however with bigger issues such as a flooded basement drain, we would find ourselves having to reach out to them for any sort of update. On numerous accounts during the summers, our lawn would go prolonged periods of time without being cut to the point where the grass would be shin-high and we, or our neighbors, would be calling in for service. The move out process was where we experienced the most frustrating issues. We notified Myers two months prior to us moving out. We received the move out acknowledgement letter in the mail, and followed every instruction listed. We were moving out on the 8th of the month but when it came time to be charged for our last rent payment, Myers did not prorate the amount accordingly and charged us for a full month on the 1st. We had to reach out to them to fix the issue. The following month, our autopay with PayLease had not been cancelled so we were charged another full month of rent even though we had moved out. Only after that were we notified that it was our responsibility to cancel our autopay, but we were never given instruction to do so or how to do so. Over the course of the next 3 weeks, there was a lack of communication from Myers and we had to reach out countless times just to get an update on when we would be receiving these large refunds. We were told one week that the check had been sent out, and it was verified again with the office later in the week that the refund was in the mail. The following week, we went into the office and we were informed the check had never actually been sent to us. Myers had no explanation to provide us as to why it was verified with us twice that the check was signed and sent, when that simply hadn't been the case. It would have been beneficial to be told that the refund had never been mailed. After expressing our frustration, the accountant Laura became disrespectful and belittling towards us. By the end of the day, Myers had the check ready for us and we were able to pick it up at the office and deposit it at the bank. Overall, Myers never took responsibility or offered an apology throughout this entire process. There was a severe lack of communication both towards us, and apparently between the people in the office. We paid our rent on time every single month for over 2 and a half years, yet Myers took a month and a half to refund over $1,700 that was never supposed to be in their hands. read more

I would give them zero stars if I could. My husband and I purchased a condominium in a community they manage. The staff has been nothing short of unprofessional, incompetent, and inattentive. They refuse to return phone calls and emails my husband and I send. I called Andy Myers himself after his staff's unacceptable behavior and asked for the courtesy of a return phone call. He stated that he saw no need for his direct involvement and was unwilling to speak with me. Myers is a great company. I have rented two different properties from them over the years and am planning to rent a third. The first property I had no experience with their maintenance services as everything was in working order. The second property there was an issue with the electric meter and Myers working with the property owner to have it replaced in a timely manner. What someone people who are posting negative comments need to understand is that Myers is the broker of properties, not the property owner. Myers has to contact the owner when there is a major repair needed to get the owners permission (as the owner has to pay for the repair) to make the necessary changes. If the owner doesn't see the need for the change, then you are stuck with an issue unfortunately. It's really not Myers fault. read more

I rented a 1 BR/BA from Myer's Real Estate from February 2011-July 2012. I read some rather negative reviews of the agency before moving, but I was anxious to live in Grandview, and they had the perfect property for me. Throughout my experience with Myer's, I have to say that I was quite impressed with them in almost every aspect. The rent was very fair for the area and size of the apartment, and the pre-rental procedure, while as arduous as with any agent, was handled very courteously and professionally. While in the apartment, there were some mechanical problems that occurred, mostly due to the age of the property. The water heater broke down, the disposal had to be reset and there was a leak in my kitchen sink plumbing. All three issues were both significant AND taken care of within 24 hours of my reporting the issues on their website. The water heater repair in particular was reported at 8pm and was fixed before I got home from work the next day at 5pm. Some other reviews had mentioned impolite staff members in the office or on their maintenance team, but I had no such interaction with any such employees; they have all been ultra professional and very polite and nice. This is a great organization that I trust and look forward to renting with them in the future. read more

Having lived in one of their properties for almost seven years now, so I have had quite some experience with this company. I am so disappointed in the customer service, or lack thereof. It takes multiple calls, emails, and requests to get any sort of maintenance done. I have read multiple reviews regarding the same issue. I am still waiting for them to fix my sump pump that's filled with raw sewage. I'm utterly disappointed with the lack of communication this company provides to its tenants. I have been renting for the past 6 years and have never had half as many problems as what I have had to deal with in the short time I've rented from Myers Realty. The day I went to sign my lease they told me that it was for 9 months and not the 12 they originally told me. When I got to my apartment it was not clean at all - there was food left in the refrigator and since it was shut off it smelled horrible and was growing mold. The bathtub was also clearly not cleaned as there was dirt, film, and mold growing in it. There were several other maintenance issues that I put work orders in for and 4 weeks later they are still not completed. Myers is also extremly unorganized and was unable to give me keys for all of the locks to my apartment, so when my front door lock jammed I was locked out of my apartment for 4 hours. I have to say that from my experience Myers Realty does not care about the tenants. I have advised all of my friends and family not to rent from them and would strongly advise you against renting from them too! read more
