Really wonderful experience with this location! The optometrist I saw to update my prescription was fabulous and talked me through my vision changes in a polite succinct and helpful manner. He was very nice. Charlotte helped me purchase frames and new lenses and helped set up an appointment for me to try contacts. She was totally fabulous, extremely helpful and very nice. I can't say enough how wonderful their staff is! I have been a long time customer of visionworks on barracks and think they also have great customer service but my eye dr really went above and beyond and I think I'll be coming back for my glasses in the future. Worst customer service experience I've had in a long time. I have been trying to get a credit for an overcharge since October. I called in and was told, yes, you were over billed, I'll take care of it. I'll call you in a couple of weeks. No phone call. I waited a few weeks and in November called the office. Spoke to a different person. She assured me she would take care of it and would call me back at the end of the week. No call back. I waited a few days and called. I was told, sorry, I'll check and get back to you at the end of the week. No call back. I waited again and then called in. Now it's December. I was told it's our busiest time, I can't help you now. Call back in January. I called. I was told I would get a call back by Friday. No call back. I waited and called the following week. I called again and was told I have more than a hundred billing problems I have to take care of. (100 billing problems in a small area seems like a lot and doesn't say much for their billing system) She told me she'd send another ticket in, accounting told her they were looking into it. I was not happy about this. I'm not sure what needed looking into beyond I overpaid and was due a refund. Ok, she said, I'll see if I can get it expedited. (I don't think waiting for a refund from October to January counts as expediting.) She told me she or someone from accounting would call me back that day or the next day. No one did. I feel as though people just push the problem into the future either hoping I'll get tired of asking about it or someone else will take care of it. I don't think My Eye Doctor wants customers. Looking at other reviews all the problems seem to stem from the office staff. This is too bad as the doctors are generally good. I have been a patient here since before the practice was bought out. Things have steadily gone down hill since then. I have had some concerns in the past, but I ignored them. This, however, is a bridge too far. The most unresponsive "customer service" I have ever seen. The primary concern here seems to be selling glasses. If that's all you want to do, they're helpful. definitely not the friendliest. not great customer service. The Dr was fine , but the staff at checkout were just a little busy- which is understandable however they never once acknowledged me to let me know they knew I needed to check out. I stood there with three kids- one who also had an eye appointment around the same time as me and my 16 month old. I just wanted to pay and leave , didn't want to get glasses at the end and even told the front desk person this and they told me they could not help me. I only needed to pay. I waited 20 minutes to just pay and leave. It was very frustrating. They need more staff and honestly better customer service training. read more

These guys are great. Conveniently located, generous open hours, and lots of friendly & helpful staff. I have some specific eye problems which require a specialist, so MyEyeDr is my go-to for the annual eye test, glasses, and contacts, and they have always delivered. Scheduling an exam is easy on line. Dr. Claus is great. Ordering and paying for new glasses, easy. Picking up glasses is very inefficient. First try, the eyewear tech tried got 45 minutes and could not adjust the frames to fit - she told me I would have to come back when a more experienced person was there. Second attempt i called in advance to verify that the experienced tech was working that day which she was. I asked if i needed an appointment and was told no, just come in when it's convenient for me. Came in and the experienced tech was tied up with another customer so I signed in and was told to wait. 40 minutes later with no communication from any of the staff, i had to leave for another commitment. I live 25 miles away so i have now spent about 4 hours total, on two attempts to pick up my glasses which cost me over $800 and they still will not set up an appointment time for me - as if my time is worthless! They should use the same scheduling system for their doctors appointments, for their eyewear technicians. You simply don't know how long you'll have to sit and wait on any given day. Staff is friendly enough but the first pair of progressives have the incorrect prescription, July 2023. Waited until the following year for another appointment, detailing the problems with the glasses and was given a second prescription, March 2024. That one was wrong too. After waiting for an appointment with an actual doctor at the end of August is when I found out both glasses are completely incorrect. After ongoing issues for over a year, this chain failed to give me the correct glasses (twice), lied when they "checked" the prescription, and now I have constant issues with eyestrain, blurred vision, headache, etc. Do not waste your time, do not waste your money! Even with UVA vision insurance I am out over $1100 on frames and lenses. As an example, my R eye should have been -7.00, add +2.25, cylinder-1.25 and axis 160 BUT they handed over a R lense of -8.00, add +2.00, cylinder -1.00 and axis 099. My followup was ignored as adjusting to progressive. read more

Refused to give me a few-day sample pack of a similar contact after I had run out and was waiting for my new order to come in because the brands were not exactly the same. They have zero discretion and stick to arbitrary policies even when they go directly against the best interests of the patient and basic common sense. They would rather me not be able to see than adapt to a patient's particular situation. I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Wow! I was incredibly impressed from the easy way to schedule an appointment to my in person experience. Everyone at this location was extremely friendly and helpful, not just to me but to their other customers. Dr. Kayser is wonderful and I had the best examination I have ever experienced. She talk to me and explained what she was doing and allowed me to ask questions and gave her advice. It really helped me to make informed decisions. Tara helped me check out was amazing not only did we have a good conversation but she explained everything about the service how much it was going to cost and options for getting my contact lenses or glasses. read more

Felt like I was at a disreputable used car dealer. I am completely new to wearing eyeglasses and stated that to both the doctor and technician. They did not listen to what I said and kept talking in verbiage I've never heard before. Doctor was in and out pretty fast. (Exam itself seemed proficient). Dr. did not explain his findings to me at all. Said I have a stigma in one eye and shuffled me out to the technician/salesman who wanted to show me their wares. Did not listen to me when I explained that this was first time I've ever needed to wear glasses and kept going on and on about frame/style choices that I did not care about. Felt like deer in headlights. Prescription itself ended up being incorrect and I cannot wear the glasses. read more

Everything regarding the store and dr were great. My issue is with the up charge of the frames I purchased. I have great insurance and love the fun of getting new frames. The pair I got are really nice but the price of the frames were 2-3 times more expensive than 3 other eye places in town for the exact same frames. I will not be coming back and will tell others to shop around for frames. read more
