I had already visited other MyEyeDr offices to shop and compare, as I was looking to get a backup pair of prescription sunglasses. I found most of the other offices far more customer-friendly than this one. With the exception of Avory, who was most impressive in her courtesy, professionalism and superb customer service skills, I found the front staff lacking in their approach to customer service. Unfortunately, I did not have an opportunity to work with Avory. However, I continually observed her performance with other customers while I was working with Rashonda. Avory genuinely seemed happy to be working there and always verbally welcomed guests as they entered the office. Other staff appeared to have a perfunctory "just going through the motions" attitude about their work. I am rating this office three stars, rather than only two stars, because everyone seemed to be technically competent in their trade. Thus, if you care only about technical proficiency, then this office is fine. But if you're like me and you want not only technical competence from your eye doctor experience, but a friendly, engaging interaction where you feel welcomed and glad you came, then I don't think the Pantops (Jefferson Parkwy) office is your best option. If you are lucky to work with Avory, then you should walk away feeling very pleased with your experience. Otherwise, with the other front staff, I recommend looking elsewhere. I certainly plan to choose another MyEyeDr office after I pick up my current pair of sunglasses soon! Thank you, Avory, for setting a good role-modeling example for your colleagues. What really made this place deserve 5 stars is what happened almost a year after. I was in Mexico City for some time and realized I could take advantage of the cheap prescription sunglasses there. With only a few days left, I called the office back in the states to get my prescription. Eventually the phone was picked up and I was told that they are not in the location I had my exam at and asked if I can wait until the next day. Since I couldn't, they had someone stop by the office to take a picture of my prescription to send it to me. This isn't something every office would do for you and for that I am forever grateful. They were on top of insurance info and not pushy when I was selecting the perfectly weird "me" frames. From start to finish this was a great experience. The office is extremely clean and the entire staff was COVID conscious, wearing masks for the entire process. A staff member was out sick so I spent most of my visit with the doc. He is extremely nice and friendly. Also funny and witty with his dad jokes. I never felt rushed and he took a genuine interest in my eyes. He explained everything before we started so I was aware of what I would be experiencing. He made it clear we could stop at any point if I needed to. I felt he was extremely professional and answered all of my questions. He explained all the results of my tests. It made me feel better about the process once I understood some of my eye issues. We both have an appointment at 2 and were back in the car at 2:25. He made my wife take her mask off. He also took out and put in our contacts without asking. Neither of use Have ever had an optometrist do this. I then told him I think my Rx was 1.25 or something but didn't have my old prescription on me. He has me read one line and tells me I am fine. Wrote my Rx for 1.75 but then I got home and realized it's supposed to be 2.0. Also with insurance he still charged 90$ for a contact fitting. DONT GO HERE. HE SHOULD RETIRE.

From looking at my online status, it appears that my glasses were ordered a week after my eye exam. MyEyeDr re-ordered my tinted lenses, which also kept being delayed. As of today, I have still not received them. I also received no updates from MyEyeDr. I had to either call or go into the store for updates. In the meantime, I ordered another pair of glasses and lenses online, and received numerous updates from the online store. The glasses from the online store arrived in 10 days and were much less expensive and of equal or better quality. I would not buy glasses from MyEyeDr again, but I would see their optometrist.
