I purchased many a pair here without incident…read more Occasionally an issue would arise but it was never anything worth discontinuing my patronage over. I only changed stores because I moved. Recently I found myself back at this location to get glasses for my son. The initial visit was uneventful and we were in and out quickly. Nearly 4 weeks later the only communication I had received from them was an emailed progress report that simply read "order delayed" with no other details. This prompted me to call the store to inquire about the status. In the past, orders only took that long because the glasses weren't made correctly the first time around so I assumed this was the case again. However, the only explanation for the delay this time was that they must have gotten lost in the mail. The person at the store was unapologetic, yet did proceed to reorder them. She said she had no idea when the glasses would be ready but promised to call me the moment they arrived. That never happened. Instead, I had to contact them after nearly 2 weeks with no word on the order just to find out that the 2nd pair was already in the store. To their credit they did grant my request to start the 12 month warranty from the time I actually received the glasses as opposed to the original order date which was over a month prior. I'm fully aware that these locations are merely store fronts and no longer make the glasses in house like they once did, therefore production or shipping mistakes aren't necessarily their fault. Given that, it makes their role as customer service providers that much more important. It wasn't until I went to the Grapevine location where I received better service from the staff and management that I was enlightened to what I was missing. I will stick to using that location for all future purchases.

I left feeling confident in both the care I received and the accuracy of my prescription. Unfortunately, things took a sharp turn when it came time to pick up and adjust my new glasses. The staff member assisting me clearly lacked the training or experience needed. During the adjustment, she mishandled the frames so badly that she ruined a $1000 pair of glasses. It was incredibly disappointing. To make matters worse, the lenses themselves are flawed. When I wear them, my computer monitors appear trapezoidal instead of square, making them essentially unusable. I had already signed off on the glasses before the adjustment and only noticed the issue with the lenses once I got home. Now I'm stuck with $1800 worth of eyewear that doesn't work for me. Bottom line: Dr. Hashemi is an outstanding optometrist, and I would highly recommend him for eye exams and medical care. But if you need glasses, take your prescription elsewhere--you'll save yourself a lot of frustration and expense.

Within minutes, I was escorted to the back by a young lady who asked me questions about my medical history and took some eye readings and turned out we had the exact same pair of eye glasses which progressed into a long discussion about our favorite imported frame vendor! I didn't get her name but she was very personable. Then came my eye exam with Dr. Peterson who listened to my concerns and was able to hook me up with a prescription for new reading glasses. There were some pretty cool high tech features that came into play while he was doing my eye exam. He was also pretty funny and has a great music selection playing in the waiting room (this is one of those things I take notice of anytime I'm in a business and makes an impression on me). Last, was my interaction with Ray who helped me pick out a new pair of glasses. He was very helpful in recommending frames to try on while still letting me do my own thing and he was also very patient while I struggled to make a decision. One thing I love about this practice is their vast selection of designer frames. I've been to other practices where I struggle just to find "a" pair that is decent. I have the opposite problem here (can't decide on which one I like most!). This is my 3rd pair of glasses I've purchased from this location. Staff is super friendly (thanks especially to Melissa and Amanda) and guides you through front desk, testing, dilating, exam room, etc with ease. They introduce themselves and you feel safe and not forgotten throughout your time in the office. I hit the jackpot with Dr Elieff (he's IN network with my insurance!!) as he is very well trained at IU and has been practicing for many years but he is energetic and eager to meet new patient like me (many docs are not just run through the motions) and he truly listens (bring your list of questions so you don't forget) -- he is so thorough and helpful in his exam by taking the time to explain everything to me in a kind yet non intimidating or patronizing way. Dr. Elieff gave me current solutions and also long term realistic expectations of what to expect as I get older. My issues have changed over the years from strabismus to dry eyes to vision to eyelid pain to cataracts in my family history and he addressed them ALL. Scheduling my next appointment was easy, paying co pay was clear and fair and they give an itemized receipt for your taxes and they send appointment reminders as the date draws near. I also noticed how KINDLY the doctor and staff talked to each other as well as elderly patients -- I point this out because this is not always the case at other offices -- this is an office that VALUES each person and doesn't just treat you like a number.
