So I've been shopping around for new/updated doctor's offices for the past year, because I'm a grown up now...dammit! All of them have worked out great, and Dr. Patel is no exception. And not just her but the entire staff. It was easy to get an appointment - I scheduled online on a Tuesday or Wednesday for a Friday lunchtime appointment. They immediately texted me to make sure I'd scheduled the appointment correctly and that I could fill out my patient forms beforehand to cut down on time in the office. I really liked that it wasn't a bot text, but an actual person so that I could ask and answer questions freely. No "REPRESENTATIVE!" over and over for me! The forms were a bit cumbersome and hopefully that i something they look into - but that's my only con. In the office, I was greeted immediately. It's a super nice practice and it looks way more chic than my last place. I did have to wait a bit from the time I was led into the patient room and then again after I was dilated but for me personally, that's nothing odd. The front desk staff was so sweet from start to finish and they guided me through where to wait, insurance, payments, etc. I didn't opt to purchase glasses or contacts there (at the time), but there are consultants available to help. And even though I said no they still made sure the keep an eye on me - that sounds creepy, but imagine it not creepy, because it was helpful. Since my appointment, they have texted a couple times to check on my trial contacts because with my weirdo eyes I can't order contacts immediately. Not intrusively. Bottom line...I love this place. It isn't close but it's 100% worth the drive. Minus the persnickety way the online forms behave, this practice is almost perfect. Not for nothing, I have been going to optometrists/ophthalmologists for 25 years and I've never been as satisfied. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS Dr UNLESS you want a long wait, rude receptionists, and a Dr who only cares about money not their patients. I have been going to this Dr for a few years expecting things to get better, but my last visit was horrible! They EXPECT you to be on time, yet on my last visit, they were 30 minutes late, offered no explanation, and didn't/wouldn't even acknowledge. I had to go up to the receptionists to ask how much longer it would be. She gave me attitude! There was another client also waiting. We both walked out. I called to get a copy of my contact lense Rx before it's close expiration, and was told that they do not do that. You have to either get your prescription filled with them or have the alternate supplier call them to verify your Rx. The Rx expired & decided to go ahead and go in for a verify Rx exam. They insisted on full eye exam after a year, and insisted using a digital retinal imaging retina scan. That scanning procedure alone with the exam was $244. (WITH insurance). I decided to go with a previous provider I had before and was not bullied into using a retina imaging device. I was also given a copy of my prescription to take with me to be free to shop around for the best price of contact lenses. This V-Eye-P location has all the latest equipment, styles, and sure is pretty with all the marble decor. But you don't need all of that to get quality customer service. Plus a friendlier person to greet you goes a long way. Look into that. read more

"Extort" that's the business model here. They force people to do "Retinal Screening" so that they can charge more to customers and bill more to their insurance. They say "It's mandatory". My wife got it done as they said: since you are new customer we have to do it as its mandatory. 15 min later I walk in for my appointment and they tell me I need to do "Retinal Screening" too in addition to normal checkup. I tell them I am not a new customer, their response: doesn't matter "It's mandatory". GL with your business.. I"ll find some other place. It's not a rocket science.. people wear eye glasses since centuries back and nobody told them that you have to do a MRI along with eye exam! lol read more

Another great experience at V EYE P Las Colinas. I've always said that Dr. Rita Patel has a very Knowledgeable & Courteous Team, and year after year the continue to shine through. For the last 7-8 years, her and her team have continued to do all they can to take exceptional care of my needs. This year I had to go about my process a little differently (I had a need had to go see an ophthalmologist). However, after I got what I needed from the ophthalmologist, I knew I wanted to go back to Dr. Patel to entrust her team with my frames and prescription lenses. Not that the other office couldn't I just know that Dr. Patel's team will provide genuine customer service and a great deal in respect to price. Nick did just that. He was diligent in pulling up my insurance allowable, he made sure all of my needs were met in regards to what I'm looking for in regards to frames and lenses, and all while providing genuine customer service. I got to see Cindy again and she was just as sweet as before. She promptly greeted me and at the end, provided a courteous check-out. I left feeling excited about the new glasses to come. And left also feeling great, it's always extremely satisfying to receive such reliable OUTSTANDING service. I look forward to my next visit. read more

My recent visit was not very pleasant. I expected more customer service from the staff and I didn't get it. A simple smile and a greeting when you walk in the door would have made a difference. I don't care if I pay hundreds of dollars for a doctor's visit but at least compensate me back with the level of service from the staff!!! I'm not asking for a red carpet treatment but just a little warmth and smile from the receptionist would be just fine. I can't say anything bad about the equipments used for the eye exam and the ophthalmologists are great. I agree with some negative comments about the prices they charge you. However, with the prices you pay, I expect to have a way better customer service.....this issue is directly to the receptionists and the other staff running the floor. They need to display some mature thought process, warmth, poise, enthusiasm and some good energy for the customers/patient. I don't think I'm coming back to this place and will look for a nicer staff where I can be more satisfied with the money I'm spending. And will also discourage two of my colleagues, who I referred, to come back here. Dr. Patel should hire someone who's very good in customer service. Overall, it was a great experience getting my yearly glasses and contact exam here. The staff is extremely patient, friendly and helpful. Wade, the eye tech, was pure bliss during the appointment. Its nice they feature the non-drop dilation at this office. Whenever I proceed with the traditional drops, I become rather dizzy and queasy. The location is excellent - right off of Royal and MacArthur. I would highly recommend this office IF you have sufficient Vision Insurance. The office has nicer designer brands for eyewear which can put a dent in your wallet if you're not careful. read more

I will not be coming to see Dr. Patel or Be visiting her office anymore. dr. Patel is not very friendly or personable in her approach -rather straightforward and business minded kind of person. empathy is so important in customer service, not to mention connecting with the customers. I have been visiting her for a couple years and my family has been as well, and she is absolutely not a friendly person, rather just business minded, which is such a turn off for any customer. I hope she changes her approach so she doesn't lose any more patients or customers. We will not be going to her anymore. TIP: Doctors or business owners should always keep in mind that customers are #1 priority, and without them there will be no business. This is a medical facility. They asked me to call when I arrived, so they could unlock the door and let me in, yet the attendant at the door had her mask hanging down beneath her nose, and another customer coming up at the same time. They not only failed to follow proper procedures with the mask, they were not following social distancing guidelines. When I walked in the receptionist behind the desk also had her mask hanging down beneath her nose. I get that these people don't care about it for themselves, but I have people in my life that would die if they got COVID 19. I have to be careful, and I expect so much more from medical offices. I booked my appointment before reading the previous reviews. Saw them the night before and panicked. I had nothing to worry about the other people are a bunch of "Karen's" who'd rather cut corners than put their health first. If you want cheap, low quality care go somewhere else. If you want thorough and quality eye care you're in the right place!!! They do not use dilation drops but take a photo of the back of your eye. Most insurance doesn't cover this method but it's so worth not having to do the drops! Dr. Nguyen addressed my autoimmune disease and saw the root of my issue when my previous doctors danced around it or even tried to push on me a bunch of things I didn't need! She explained everything and asked the right questions. I will be returning! The staff was also polite and knowledgeable as well. When it comes to anything health or medical-related, I like to find a good doctor I can trust. For Rita Patel, I would say she is one I absolutely do not trust; she is in the profession for the money and it's very obvious in her mannerisms. Upon coming here for the first time, I felt that Rita Patel did not even care about me as a human being. She barely even smiled at me or treated me with any decency. I think if I had acted like I wanted to buy their over-priced glasses, then she would have been much more pleased with my business. She treats it just like that - as a business, not a healthcare profession. The star that I generously gave is for Dr. Patel's ability to give a good eye exam. The star is for her ability to explain away problems with her constantly changing staff as being the customers fault. It is for the additional 39.99 fee if you do not want your eyes dilated and for trying to charge you more than the agreed upon price for the exam in the first place. You Must uncomfortably fight to get the quote you were agreed upon It Is for not having a good staff and a constant turnover of them. The star is especially for the crazy prices that they try to charge and the borderline scam (my opinion) that they use to put you into an unknown progressive lens quality typically just explaining that they pick what's best for my needs. They really deserve the star for costing your time to say you have a problem and come in and say something like "put them in the freezer" and "come back if there is any other problems". Most of all Dr. Patel earns her star by being sheltered from complaints by order supposedly given to the ever evolving staff. My review is based on years of using Vision City Los Colinas and thousands of dollars spent and finally having ENOUGH! NO MORE WILL I BE A VICTIM OF THEIR CHARADE. I wonder why the place is empty so often... We are the stupid customers with social media. They might want to rethink their approach to customer service. The visit was very impersonal...overly priced services for sub par service...I could have went to Walmart and got better treatment and my dollars would have been appreciated...The only thing I can say that the office was pretty and the brown lady at the front desk was very warm and polite. I was never greeted when I walked in and I had to briefly look around for the front desk as it is off to the side behind a pillar/wall. The doctor (Patel) was a little abrupt and short...she seemed annoyed disconnected...I've never had an appointment where I was in a hurry to leave from feeling uncomfortable. While the office was visually pleasing and clean, the services provided could use a great deal of improvement. Having recently moved I was in the market for a nearby office and per referral called Vision City of Las Colinas. I walked in with the intent of receiving an exam for glasses and contacts, as well as purchase new glasses. I've had the same vision insurance for over 5 years, and the same Optometrist for three. Having said that I'm quite familiar with the benefits and services I've received previously. When Dr. Patel's office went over unfamiliar additional charges, I cancelled the contact exam and opted for the glasses exam only. While waiting for my appointment I perused the large selection of frames. I found plenty I liked, but the presence of no price tags was deterring. I looked around for the sales associate that greeted me when I arrived, but he was no where to be found. While I was pulled away from examining frames in the mirror I noticed the receptionist lazily leaning on the counter, quietly watching me while also appearing to stare into space. Why not have the sales associate on the floor interacting with the client if you're worried about theft? Why not appear to be performing a task (dusting, cleaning and/or arranging frames, etc) while monitoring me? Watching me quietly while providing no service was quite unwelcoming. I then chose to sit down and stare at my phone for the remainder of my wait time. The tech that took me back was efficient. While I waited for Dr. Patel I scanned my insurance benefits online. I was eager to understand the additional charges as I had hoped to knock out both exams. Having worked in healthcare I know physicians aren't familiar with benefits so I quietly returned to the front desk for additional information. We did not agree on the interpretation of the benefits, which was fine, I planned to call my previous office to order more contacts before the prescription expired. Having returned to the exam room I took notice that Dr. Patel had come in while I was away, which appeared to have caused some confusion. Once cleared she came into the room and introduced herself, appearing quite agitated. I sincerely apologized for the inconvenience in which she gave me zero response. The exam was over in what could not have been more than 3 minutes and she was chauffeuring me out to the sales associate who now appeared on the sales floor. Dr. Patel sent me in the opposite direction of the "check out this way" sign which caused further confusion when I beat her to the front and they then sent me to the check out desk. At that point I was beyond ready to leave, and began to fear my quick examination would not produce the most accurate prescription to correct my vision. I immediately drove to a frame store I was familiar with, purchased designer frames, HD lens with scratch resistance, UA, and anti-glare coatings. A purchase I would have gladly made at Vision City of Las Colinas had their customer service been at the least medoicre. After reading through the reviews on Yelp today I'm thankful I did not. I did not plan to write a review until I received a call from Vision City of Las Colinas the following day. I returned the call, for them to offer me a contact exam within the next 90 days at no additional cost. The young lady I spoke to advised they offer the same service to returning clients and was extending it to me. I sincerely thanked her but declined. At this point I had called my regular Optometrist for information on my existing prescription and without my request it was renewed for another year. My message to Vision City of Las Colinas: your lack of friendly customer service, thorough examination, and team cohesiveness lost you an additional insurance claim and the purchase of prescription glasses at a minimum of $500. Your services, or lack thereof, earned you a novel of a review in hopes to deter prospective clients from wasting their time and money at an establishment that won't respect their business. After a failed attempt to find a new place, I will happily drive over an hour to an office that takes their time to provide an accurate examination while displaying welcoming and efficient customer service. I've got my fingers and toes crossed that I have no issues with my glasses prescription. read more

Absolutely terrible at everything. First, they use pushy sales tactics to get you to buy overpriced frames after your eye appointment. Second, they drag their feet when asked to send your prescription to another doctor or to you. They made excuses, said they sent the information when they did not, and sent missing information. They have not made accommodations for COVID (tried to get me to go into the office to get my prescription rather than email it "because of policy"). They offer to fax your prescription to you, but it's 2021 and normal people do not have fax machines. Regardless, none of that would have been needed if they would have sent my prescription to my new (virtual because hello, I'm high risk and it's COVID) doctor. Once again, they used pushy tactics, seemingly in an effort to get me to spend more money with them (tried to get me to come in for an appointment with them instead of going for someone virtual during COVID). I've never felt compelled to write a yelp review before, but my experience at V Eye P was beyond superb. I've had vision difficulties my entire life and I never knew a visit to the Optometrist could be amazing until now. I've wanted contacts for years, but the hassle of appointments and contact ordering has always deterred me. However, Dr. Patel's staff made all of this as fast and easy as possible from initial call to end of appointment. Upon arriving, I was immediately greeted by a stylish office and Ashley, the front desk assistant who couldn't have been sweeter. I expected to wait forever (because it wouldn't be a doctor's office visit if I didn't) however, as soon as I filled out my paperwork, Ashley ushered me to the back to meet with the technician, Wade. Wade was the most personable and helpful technician I have met in my life. He had me laughing the entire time as he administered tests before my examination with Dr. Fong. Dr. Fong was engaging and answered every question I had with ease and clarity. Within 30 minutes, I had a prescription and contacts to try and see what worked best for me. My husband and I are new to the area and were searching for a new place to get glasses. We stopped in on a Friday afternoon to browse the selection. They have a decent selection of frames and we both happened to find some we liked. We brought our RX from another doctors office. Here's my thoughts: plan to spend a good hour here for finding ordering and also picking up. This office is quite busy - each time we went - mid day and late afternoon we waited 15-30 minutes to be helped. The optician who helped us purchase our glasses was cordial enough but I wouldn't say she was warm or friendly in the least. They do add on a few upgrades you could go without - like an edge polish even if the edges of your lenses can't be seen outside of your frame. I understand that selling glasses is a business but offering options and allowing customers to choose is a better mode of operation vs presuming people want/need every upgrade. It certainly makes you feel like you're being nickel and dimed for every last option. That being said the optician who helped us pick up our glasses was great - I think her name was Chantel. She's very knowledgeable on adjusting glasses and goes the extra mile to make sure they're sitting correctly and comfortably. Overall it was a pretty good experience. When we come back we'd definitely make sure we could work with Chantel. read more

Dr. Patel level of professionalism is exceptional, and not something you see every day. I brought an issue to her attention, not really expecting to hear anything back because she does not know me. But she personally called me on her day off to address my concern, and was able to meet my needs and fix the issue. I am very impressed with the way she handles her business. I want lasik and he walked me through how to get my eyes healthy and even gave me great advice on what to look for in a lasik Dr. The contacts and eye drops are both the best explained and recommended I've ever gotten since starting to go to V Eye P. I had vision insurance, went in for an eye exam. Hit me with a $400 bill. When I questioned the office manager became irradiated and said a particular eye test was done on my eye that wasn't covered under vision, it was medical. Gave me trial contacts to wear, vision was so blurred after a day I called and e-mailed the office no one would get back to me. Finally after I sent a 3th e-mail Dr. Patel sent me my prescription. Went to 1-800 contacts and got a box for $89.00. They were charging almost $500 for a box. Take my advice and DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE! You will be sorry. Wouldn't recommend this place unless you have no other option and don't mind paying ridiculous prices for basic care/items. We were first told that the reason they don't price match is because wholesale sellers get better bulk prices. Sure. Then we waited 2 hours to find out we would have to pay a $20 (+ another $25 to send it to my house) shipping charge for them to receive a new pair of glasses that they ran out of because they just changed their Ray Ban rep. Okay... Finally when we went to pick up the glasses, they did not fit properly and when we asked if they could adjust them, we were told that we'd have to pay the $20 shipping fee to get it replaced. No thanks. What's the point of having an eyewear store if the customer bears all the business costs? There's a certain degree of service expected with the premium prices we pay. Even if your insurance has exceptional coverage, they make sure to add additional fees/co-pays to force the customer to pay a substantial price for any items. read more

If I could give this review no stars I would. They take your money and charge you fees without explaining how your benefits work for their location. Then they lie to your insurance company and say they don't take your insurance no more but that wasn't an issue when I set up my appointment and gave them my insurance info. Oh but then all of a sudden they do take your insurance but they have a special contract where you basically don't get to use your benefits how they are supposed to be used and they try to make you max your benefits out when the whole time they were interpreting your coverage incorrectly. Visiting Rita Patel's office has been one of the worst experience I've had at a doctor's office. When I arrived for my appointment I had to wait an unreasonable amount of time and when I was finally brought into the exam room I had to wait even more. Then Rita Patel came in and did her job as if she was working on a robot. There was no friendly interaction and she clearly seemed rushed and by that point I was too, after having waited so long. I bought a voucher online so maybe it was because she wasn't making any money off me or because I don't look like the type that would buy their ridiculously expensive glasses. My voucher also included money towards glasses so although I was debating it, I decided to come back to claim the rest of the offer, since I had already paid for it. Big Mistake...and to make a long story short in the end she refused to honor the voucher and had her office manager with no customer service skills deliver the news and tell me that I should just request a refund from Living Social. Thankfully I was able to get my refund but no thanks to them because they made it much more difficult to get when they marked my voucher "redeemed" after I left their office even though it was not fully redeem. Obviously my recommendation is stay away from this place if you can help it! read more

I've been using this office for about four years and have bought a few eyeglasses and sun glasses from them.....all of which were high quality and worth the investment. The staff (Sonyu) are especially efficient, very helpful, very professional, and add on the savings before I even inquire about them. The selection of frames is plentiful and they are custom fitted. This place is probably great for people who make obscene amounts of money. But unless you are willing and able to drop $400+ on contacts, eye exam and contact fitting, don't bother. They will make you feel poor and like crap because you were not prepared to spend $400 on one appointment. I make a decent living but THIS was not in my budget. $160 copay, y'all, just for the eye exam. That was BEFORE the contact lense fitting. If that's not obscene, well maybe I don't live in the real world. I would love to live in a world where 400 is not a lot of money. Must be nice! Steer clear! read more
