One stop shop in beautiful Madison center . Small town feel and attention with big box prices!!! Perfect ! (I saw a "review" which was really a ludicrous complaint that a woman stopped in no appt and was miffed when they didn't fix her glasses for which no indication they were responsible nor had she even purchased there! People are so entitled these days. ) not my business but I felt compelled to chime in to defend a very lovely establishment . I love this place. I've long had professional relationships with ophthalmologists in the area CT through my employ Yale-New Haven Eye Laser. I know less about optometry. What I DO KNOW is that whatever Marcie Lustgarten may lack in unnecessary "warm fuzzies " she more than makes up for in her thorough professionalism and attention to detail. She does not mince words about eye care. Dr. Lustgarten did not shy away from scolding me on my overnight wear of contact lenses and probably saved me problems I would have had down the line.! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Horrible experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I did all my due diligence with my insurance company so I knew what was covered and what might not be covered. I go for my exam, we go over everything regarding what my insurance was going to cover. I can't remember the exact amount, once I had my eye exam ordered my glasses I left with zero balance. Months go by and I get a phone call on my cell phone, (too many phone solicitors I don't answer the phone) I was waiting for a call from a delivery service, I picked up the phone. To my surprise it was a collection agency telling me I owed 250 some odd dollars. My wife carries the insurance so everything had to go through her. Long story short the incompetent woman who does billing for the eye doctor coded everything wrong and the insurance company refused to pay. At this point her negligence put me in collection and ruined my perfect credit score. To make matters worse my glasses are already broken, I'm in collections because of an incompetent employee who doesn't know how to do her job and they sell garbage frames and glasses. I had a prescription for progressive glasses filled in December 2021. After using the glasses for a while, I noticed that the correction did not feel right and realized the area for distance eyesight was too high so I had tilt my head down so I would see through the very top of the lens. I went back to the store and after going through a discussion when they said it was a matter of getting used to the new glasses but finally agreed to change the lenses. The new lenses felt better for distance but now the reading portion was not properly positioned so I could only see well with one eye by looking sideways but not both because the reading portions of the lenses were too close to the nose. I went back to the store in August and Cory the person I dealt with could not suggest any solution who said that the zone for distance dictates the location of the reading zone. I continued testing the glasses and realized that the distance area was not optimized and by moving both zones away from the nose, both distance and reading would be optimized, which would maintain the relative position of the zones with each other. I called on November 2nd as I thought there was indeed a solution. I was told it was too late to change the lenses. So the delay caused by two mistakes made by the optician, the time it took me to understand the issues and finding time to deal with the problem was too long. No more replacement possible. So if you choose Myeyedr in Madison, make sure your glasses are properly made and remember, you have 30 days do so. For me considering the very level of service and the high level of unpleasantness, it should not be difficult to find a better optician. EP, Branford, CT read more

I went there only because my Dr is now affiliated with this company. I love my Dr but the overall experience there gave me no reason to return. It took over 30 minutes to checkout and the representative just sat behind her computer with zero communication! I know from my years in customer service just how important it is to communicate with your clients. I felt like I was in a factory, it was cold and impersonal. I wanted to order my contacts but their computer systems were not updating the information the Dr put through. No one seemed to know what they were doing. The front office staff was unprofessional and not well trained. Needless to say, I will not be going back! read more

Friendly staff but generic eye care at best. Hadn't been to an eye doctor in 20 years, the check up took 20 minuets and subscribed bi-focals that are ok for reading but unuseable for distance. Didn't feel like we got a great diagnosis. read more

Terrible customer service. It tooks three weeks to get a copy of daughters' prescription to re-order contacts for them during Stage I of the Connecticut quarantine. MyEyeDr in Madison would not let me re-order contacts from unless I came in for an in-person exam. For those who live in a household with someone at risk, going to the optometrist is not an option. We depend on being able to re-order contacts from a company we have patronized regularly. Terrible customer service. read more

Stay away from Dr. Listgarten ....she wrote the "wrong prescription" for my distance and computer glasses. I went back and she said "oh it's only I click off on each, most people would not notice"!!! What!! So they redid the prescription at no cost but waited two weeks for them to be remade... finally picked up the new glasses and they were even worse! Wanted to cry but drove to MYEYEDR in New Haven to check prescriptions with another doctor and as I thought... they were even more off than the first time, rendering them worthless. Went back to Madison with new rx for the 3rd time And now waiting another 2 to 3 weeks for them to be remade. Sent my son on his own for his eye exam. First they quoted me a price over the phone the day before that was $50 less than they charged him. They told him his insurance expired when in it said "Member since 2012" so they didn't use his insurance saying when they checked he wasn't in the plan. When I called they checked with insurance and said if he used it it would have been $75 more with insurance. Now something is not right with this office. read more

The office is very conveniently located in downtown with plenty of parking, The office is very attractive, the staff was very knowledgeable and helpful and they had a variety of options/discounts on my contact lenses and was able to get a free pair of sunglasses. read more

This is the best place I have ever taken all my kids. All employees are very attentive and helpful. Their hours are convienent as they do have Saturday appointments available. Have never had a bad experience there. Had a difficult 4 yr old and they managed him very well. read more
