Last year i had an eye exam done elsewhere and went to MVC like I did the previous time I purchased glasses.
This time the script was not right for my eyes. After 2 tries I went back to the doctor for a recheck and they concluded the pupillary distance was wrong and they marked the glasses. I went back and told the woman and she erased the marks, remeasured herself and sent them out to be re done. Came back wrong again, so I got my money back! I keep using the older script and here we are a year later.
Had a new yearly eye exam From one place and went back to MVC to try again with glasses. The reason being is lower cost.
In June I ordered eye glasses and sun glasses.
They never looked at my Insurance to see if I get any credit. My fault I didn't "insist."
Glasses come back wayyyy off! They noticed one eye was a plus and one a minus and pointed it out. I called over to the doctors and they faxed over a new one.
Glasses still came back wrong so I had my exam re checked AGAIN!
This time the glasses came back better, but I had taken them to try for a week to be sure. Had bad headaches and could not wear them to drive!
Now I called back the eye doctor that did the exam and told them I'm at a loss and don't know what to do.
I went back in with both pairs of glassed and she was immediately able to see the left lens was what they call twisted in the industry and explained it to me. It should not have left a lab that way!
They also measured my pupillary distance in the old and new glasses and said the new ones were off.
Now when I came in with an outside prescription, no one said a word about it.
When I picked them up 2 weeks ago and was excited they where finally all set, the manager Anita said, "I hope so, I cant keep repairing a pair of glasses from am outside prescription." word for word!!! I replied, "well I hope these will be fine, but you never mentioned this when I came in with an outside prescription, and maybe you should tell people this up front."
I arrived today to return the glasses and send back the sunglasses, because they will also be wrong. I got a run around of the woman helping me up and down and going out back. She came out and showed me a paper with Anitas numbers all over it with a restocking fee!! She tried to charge me over $300 to restock glasses they got wrong!! I asked for the manager Anita who was clearly trying to avoid telling me herself. I asked her what this was about, blah blah blah, i asked for something with this policy on it to see what is said. She got flustered and kept trying to walk off and did not want to have this conversation. I asked her why they didn't do this to me in Merrimack last year and her response was we are a different company now. Not sure when exactly that purchase took place, but I don't buy it, I think she made it up on the spot because she didn't want to give me my money back and I questioned and pushed when asking for documentation on said "policy."
Now this location is not very private to begin with, but now I am beside myself, more so over the ridiculous re stocking fee than anything. Had they said like $75 total or something I may not have gone to bat for myself. She wrote on this paper 15% for each pair. but when I got home and did the math, that should at 15% only be $145 total, and she had the total over $300. She was actually trying to charge me 30% for each pair!!!!
She took the script and went out back, came back and said the script is right, I said no its not the left lens is twisted. She responded that "no its not just because another place said it's twisted, doesn't mean it is." Keep in mind, they pupillary distance was measured by MVC!
I guess she was implying i made it up, I'm not sure why. I then said, "well You clearly are not as experienced as you think you are at this, (after she repeated she is the manager again, irrelevant if you're not going to help me out)
I said well, the place I went to two woman that helped me, bent over backwards because I was overwhelmed with this mess, have over 40 years experience each in the business and noticed the twist in the lens immediately. They also said they could not adjust my one lens in my old glasses b/c they are "dry" and can break if they try. Anita apparently isn't aware of this little tid bit or she would not have tried to do that last time I was in. That's when she said," Okay I'm going to give you your money back and I don't want you to come back in our facility...I told her not a problem.
She walked off while babbling at me vs talking to face to face and tried to go out back. I asked well who is working on my refund and she said a check will be mailed to you. (This is 2021 and they can't run my card again and give me my refund?) I didn't argue that with her, but asked for a paper documentation that my money will be coming.
I also witnessed a blonde woman at the desk on the phone talking rude and making faces and blaming the the call center for giving her the wrong information. read more
