I did get new glasses and when I went in to pick them up I was again rushed, no fitting at all, just a printed card they had me read to see if I could see ok. The eye glass techs were busy on their phones and I felt as though I was bothering them. The glasses did not seem any different than the ones I had as far as prescription strength. I did speak to the office manager after the fact and she did offer me a refund if I returned the glasses which I did. Fast forward to today, I called as I had sudden onset floaters in one eye which alarmed me. I was told no appointment availability this week and was referred to 2 other places, one that had terrible reviews and the other that told me all there docs were out of town for the week and had told other offices to not refer to them this week because of that. I know offices are busy but this was somewhat of an emergency and the ladies answering the phone could not be bothered. Happy to say I did find an office who saw me same day and they were wonderful. I will be taking my business and my family to that office from now on.

Yes. $561 Mind you she is on a very fixed income. Upon checking out, the manager Abdul "Z" with no hesitation swiped her CC without even once explaining to her how (on a fixed income) she could lower her total, she was not provided any options, no receipt or prescription. She was given an exam, charged an outrageous amount, then sent on her way. Abdul "Z" upsold her to which my mom, unfortunately trustingly paid believing this was her only option and a necessary purchase. Less than 8 hrs later when my mom called to ask Z to please stop the transaction, she now understood she was charged for frames and options she did not need, she was told absolutely NO. She now knew she could buy the glasses for a fraction of the cost and had hoped for an understanding refund. Myself and my husband visited Lotus Optical along with my mother the very next day for an explanation to the upselling that was charged and never given permission to do so however this did not happen. I suppose it's easier to claim we were there to "intimidate"rather than the real reason which was for support. I love my mother dearly, she was taken advantage of. Nobody deserves that. This man is intimidating, this man yells, he is unprofessional, he's practicing shady buisness and is taking advantage of customers and over charging them. In the end after a horrible confrontation which should have been an easy conversation with Dr. Melani, the front desk worker, and manger Z we got nowhere. She then proceeds to say, " Ma'm im gonna ask you to leave and I will give you a refund." I ask you, Why could you not do this in the first place? Why after hearing what your own manger has done, understanding the circumstances would you a doctor appreciate the good buisness my mother was bringing to you and in good faith do the right thing by refunding her money OR better yet give her a more affordable option? Dr. Melani you stood next to a man, who has gotten reported on before, yelled at your customers, took advantage of my mother, and you asked US to leave. Shame on you. I believe You've lost sight of what honest customer service should be. Quality patient care and most importantly, trustworthy buisness. May that not happen to a loved one of yours or anyone else's at your establishment. Respond with your apology. Claim that you were not in the wrong, support a nasty man who I imagine continues to be employed by you for god knows what reason. Luckily the many competing optometrist around the corner who know how to treat the elderly now has our buisness.

I made my appointment and was received by a very friendly receptionist ( female), the Optometrist name Sophia Malani, she was also very friendly and very knowledgeable. After all was said and done I was escorted to the front where I was asked to please sit down by a male who would finish the service. The man ( Indian or Turkish) not sure and I could not fine his name. He sat down and was polite, I made it very clear that I was on a fix income and all I wanted was a no name frame , he proceeded to return with two frame and then without blinking he stated it would cost me $561.75 I said " I cannot afford that "! He then stated "you can make two payments ", I said "okay " and went home and called my daughter, my son-in-law , who said no get your money back, drama started when I called and again spoke to the same male ..who said they "had already sent the order to the lab" really it hadn't even been 8 hours. This man proceeded to make me feel as if he was doing me a favor by telling me " you said you need them " yes I did need them but at no time did I ask him to expedite the order, and he stated NO you can not get your money back" Let me add that I at no time had received a receipt for the money paid nor had I received a copy of the prescription for my eyes . I waited the following day and I and my son - in-law and my daughter went into the office with me, I asked the receptionist if she could pull up my receipt and explain it to me, however the male I was told was billing and the female was only the receptionist. At this time the male had start to get loud so my son-in-law also raised his voice, my son in law sat down and my daughter asked if she could talk, where she proceeded to explain that instead of trying to keep down cost I was sold something I did not ask for because my daughter has worn glasses for many years I felt she was more knowledgeable on the subject, however I was accused of bring my daughter and her husband as part of intimidation ,to which I replied "no the are just supporting me, after words were exchanged the optometrist stated I would be given a refund but I would need to find another Optometrist, plus she added she was losing money? How she will still bill Medicare , what money ? In my opinion I feel that now that I am on Medicare even though I have worked all my life and paid my dues, many feel as professional care givers who no matter the situation can treat the elderly without respect and concern. Shame on LOTUS eye care you would rather lose a customer instead of understanding the situation.
