Great doctor. Great staff. They take their time. Great selection. I love them. Dr. McDuffey is diligent and friendly.

Today had a 6 month follow up appt with Sean Patrick. He's awesome but I will never come back, I…read moreadvised him that I would need my prescription including pupillary distance as I would be getting my glasses online. He stated the ladies out front should be able to help. The lady assisting me out front pushed their online portal which I had no interest in, and when reviewing my prescription it did not show a pupillary distance. I asked and she advised that if you do not purchase glasses from them they no longer provide it. While I believe this should be illegal as it is in other states South Carolina does not require it for a prescription even though it is needed to obtain an accurate prescription. Plus if you use a card they charge a fee, this place tries to nickel and dime you.

This place, by far the rudest and most disrespectful ophthalmologist practice I've ever been to. I…read morewent in for a simple eye exam, I wear contacts mostly, but was thinking of getting new glasses as well. But Their glasses and contacts are marked up by at least 40%.. Charged me for an eye test that never happened. When I called them on it, it was clear who ran that office, and it's not the Dr. Don't go here! I never leave reviews, but these folks take the cake for being unprofessional, overcharging and liars.I just don't want anyone else to go through the same experience that I did. With my insurance they charged me almost $200 for a simple eye exam. Usually I pay just a $40 co-pay. 0-stars!!!

I've been going here for eye exams and glasses for over five years. This place is always awesome in…read moreevery aspect. I just took a broken pair of frames in, not expecting too much but within ten minutes Jen had my new frames with my prescription lenses all set to go!!! Even discounted the new frames for me! I can't say enough good things about this store.

Visited the Nexton office of Optical Impressions for an eye exam yesterday. I had a good experience…read morewith the actual exam. Picked out frames and was planning to to return at a later date to order those--- (nice red frame that I really liked). I noticed that the PD measurement was not on my prescription and asked for it to be added before I left. I was told no, I could not get this information. This has been on every prescription that I have ever picked up from optical impressions over the years, I shared this fact and their response implied that I was a liar. I use this measurement to order my extra sunglasses online. I was told this is NOT part of the prescription and it would not be provided to me. After I was insistent I was then told I could get it if I paid $30! I was also told if they provided this information to me it causes them to lose money..... I've had good experiences with optical impressions before (and have been a repeat customer) but all that was erased yesterday. My husband had eye exams & bought glasses from them in the past also. We will no longer do business with them .

I had been to this eye doctor before they changed locations and was assisted by Brooke at the time…read more After they adjusted my contact and glasses order, I was owed a credit of over $500 that I never received. Thankfully, my bank flagged the issue and helped protect me. When I contacted Ocean Eye about it, they directed me to resolve it through my bank rather than addressing it themselves. This experience left me very uneasy, and I won't be returning.

I had my first visit to Ocean Eye at Carnes Crossroads last Friday (1/10/25) and the experience at…read morethe time was ok. I got there on time for my appointment but proceeded to wait at least 10 minutes if not more before I was taken back by a technician for the eye exam portion ($39 out of pocket for the digital exam). The digital exam was quick and easy enough that it took less than 10 minutes. After some brief Q&A with the technician, she then told me that the doctor would be right in. I waited what felt like almost a half an hour (although it was probably about 15-20 minutes) for the doctor to come in and finish. It went ok and Dr. Palmer answered my questions, provided me with my prescription (as I usually get my glasses online) and I left satisfied. It wasn't until I got home that I looked at my prescription and realized that there was no PD (pupillary distance) # listed. Thinking it was just an oversight, I called back today to get it and they said it would be an additional $25 because it's only given when buying glasses from them. Excuse me? Now it may be because I don't go to the eye doctor often, (and charging people extra for the faster more updated eye exam I understand) but you're going to charge an additional $25 just because they choose not to pay for your glasses (frames and lenses) too? If I had known that I would have to pay over $60 just for an exam and a PD number on my prescription I never would've gone there. Now being that I don't go to the eye doctor all the time, that may be a new thing that I just didn't know about but I was very clear from the beginning of my appointment what my intentions were and the technician nor the doctor did not tell me that while I could get a prescription from them it wouldn't include a necessary detail without a additional $25. I might have even paid it if it was $5 or less but I just expected it to be included with the $39 digital eye exam I was already paying extra for. I'm sorry Ocean Eye but this was the first and the last time I will be going to see you. I'll take my business elsewhere if you expect me to pay over $60 for an eye exam and prescription that includes the pupillary distance number needed for accurate eyeglasses.
