I really wish I had read the other reviews before I gave this location my time, energy, and money. This is my first and last time visiting the Wake Forest location! I ordered my glasses on October 9th. Today is November 11th. The first time they were received, I saw two of everything. The lady who helped me with the try on advised me to "just wear them until my eyes adjust!" I said no! I'm leaving them here. I refused to put me or other in that kind of danger! She also said she confirmed the prescription was correct. I had to schedule a follow-up appointment to have my eyes examed a second time. During that visit, I was told something was definitely entered incorrectly. So the glasses had to be sent back to be corrected. I just went back to pick them up, and the vision was blurry. The receptionist was very kind but advised me that Kim would have to assist with adjusting them. The fit wasn't the issue. It was my vision. Kim was on lunch, so I gave the receptionist the bag with the new glasses and told her I would like a refund. She nor Kim was able to help with that, so I was told to call on Monday morning. I have been wearing glasses for almost 30 years & I've never experienced this before! At this point, I am OVER trying to correct the issue with this location! read more

This office is only concerned about how much money they can get from you. The staff is rude, judgemental and money grubbing. Patient care is not their priority. I had a bad experience in Nov of 2023, and walked out with my prescription and purchased elsewhere. The manager called me to apologize, so I brushed it off, and I booked a new appt for this week. Again a very rude staff member called me to confirm the appt, however in doing so, she said that if I did not agree to doing an additional test for an out of pocket expense, or inconvenience for free, my appt would be cancelled. That is out right coercion. She could have phrased in a more polite manner as offering an option, but nope, as usual the staff has no idea of customer service or even a sale technique (lol). BTW prior to the call, I had already made up my mind that I would pay for the test, but she ruffled my feathers. I will not go to another My Eye Doctor, I will drive 30 mins out of my way for eye health. read more

Time is of the essence... I scheduled an appointment a year in advance.... called and confirmed the appointment weeks in advance. Wrote the time on my wall calendar after signing out for vacation. I get get a voice mail canceling my appointment, due to noncompliance of my 10AM appointment. I called back when I was free, only to be told my appointment was canceled and I would not be able to reschedule for that time. I have rescheduled online for a time the same day and confirmed my appointment via online. Dr is awesome.... customer service is in need of desperate help. Likely my last visit. I would like to update the review to 5 star as store manager took extra steps to resolve the refund issue as quickly as possible.

Save your time and money and avoid this place. I have been going here for years and the customer service has gone completely away. People at work had been telling me horror stories about them for the last year - I made the mistake of having to learn the hard way. Whoever is managing the front end customer service of this business is destroying the customer base. Ordered glasses I July - I followed up after 3 weeks and they had not arrived yet. After 3 additional weeks I followed up again and they told me the glasses had been there for 2 weeks - they said they had an automated text system that sends customer notifications out and they do not personally follow up - I let them know their system did not work - I did not get a text, they did not seem to care. I made an appointment to get the glasses fitted. Waited 20 min., the receptionist came over several times to tell me the lady that fits the glasses would be right with me. (She was 10' away having a conversation) She came over and walk passed me to help a lady who just came it. She had to tell the lady that they did not order frames to replace her broken frames - they accidently ordered lenses instead and that she did not understand what happened, but they would start the process over for her. I got up and left - told them that I would adjust my on glasses. It did make me feel better to know that it appears to be staff incompetence and not a deliberate customer service slight against me. I have been to several independent local providers and felt I was paying for a fancy lobby or facility. I also felt I products were being pushed on me to help pay for those extras. I avoided a chain provider thinking it would be impersonal. However, with MyEyeDr, I was pleasantly surprised. The facility was nice and up to date, but not flashy. The staff were very kind. The doctor was extra sensitive to my needs and concerns. At other doctors, I had felt rushed and pushed through. MyEyeDr took time with me to feel comfortable and understand what he was doing and why. I have found my eye doctor! After visiting other eye doctors, my impression was I don't want to return. However, here I said I want to come back. That's the way an eye doctor should be! read more

Eye doctor himself is very nice and it is sad everything else there is not up to the same standard. Have been there twice in the past year and neither experience was the best, the only reason I honestly return is because they accept my insurance. First pair of glasses we ordered were recently lost, and could not be replaced because we were informed they were discontinued, so we had to go in and choose another pair of frames. The lady who "helped" with the frames was just as impolite the second time (I was hoping she was just having a bad day the first time) as she had been previously, not really allowing us to browse the frames We wanted to look at, and showing us the same couple pair over and again. Regardless of this a suitable pair was found and ordered, supposedly to be received in about 2 weeks. It took a total of about 5 weeks or so, many phone calls and excuses later, to be told by the gentleman on the phone we would be taken care of when they finally came in, since we had to wait so long. We arrived, the same lady gave us our glasses along with a quick and insincere sounding "sorry" and sent us on our way. No effort was made to make up for the wait, and having to deal with her each time is a struggle. Wishing good customer service were still a real thing, it is very hard to find. read more

For starters, I chose MyEyeDr because the very kind girl at the Crabtree mall location not only repaired my old glasses but even cleaned them for me. I'd have gone back there but getting in and out was a nightmare, so I went to the one closest to me. Unfortunately, when searching online, I found a phone number I believed to be THE MyEyeDr in Wake Forest (in fact, there are three of them). I called, they gave me an almost immediate appointment, and I left home to arrive at the location I knew about (it's behind Fidelity Bank which is our bank). Unfortunately, the number I called was for the "Capcom" location. With no time to make it across town, I figured I'd have to return home and try for another appointment the next day. But the receptionist asked me to wait and checked to see if they could see me there. She then called the other location and explained the situation and told them she was going to take their 4:40 pm appointment. The visit was wonderful. The exam was painless and the retinal exam was well worth the $39! It gives so much more information on the health of the eye than a typical exam even with dilation. I will be having one of these every year now. As a nurse, I understand the importance of a thorough exam and this method is about as thorough as it gets!
