However the eyeglass side of the business managed by Tracy Charrette is the worst I have experienced - definitely the most unprofessional managment staff of a supposedly professional profession experience in my lifetime. Both my wife and I purchased eye glasses and after three return visits by me and four for my wife, the eyeglasses are not useable, both of us are using our previous prescription eyeglasses purchased prior to our move to Raleigh. She has no respect for our time or expectations for a usable pair of eyeglasses. Spent just south of $1,000 (plus insurance contribution) for two pair of glasses, for myself and my wife. The office declined to offer a refund after our 3 & 4 return visits. As an owner of a professional business myself I cannot imagine treating a client as such. Hindsight, I wish I would have read reviews of this office as I see many others have had similar experiences. Shameful - simply cannot not support such On the bright side - wife's eyeglasses were Maui Jims and manufacture offered assistance.

Yes, she has a chart in front of her that tells her the things we've talked about in the past (i.e. medications, other medical issues and career info), but she doesn't skip a beat, and doesn't make it sound like she's reading from a chart - she talks on my level. It's almost like going to therapy because she's a human being who understands the everyday trials, tribulations, and good times a person goes through and how it affects their health, including their eye health. She's empathetic and quite frankly, an overall positive person to be around. It sucks getting old, and Dr. Murphy lets me do the talking to let her know what's going on with my eyes and then makes the appropriate recommendations, when it was time for bi-focals, progressive lenses, and now computer/reading glasses, even down to bifocal/progressive sunglasses (because I can't read my dashboard with single vision lenses anymore).

She literally makes you feel like the most important person in the world. She explains things well, makes sure you're happy with your prescription, is pleasant, smiling and encouraging. I highly recommend her. And my prescription for my new glasses is amazing! What a gift! Also, the online scheduling works great. I lost my glasses, and called to see if I could get an earlier appointment. They called me when one became available! Great office staff and doc - hard to beat! The downside: parking was a nightmare on Saturday, with the holiday shoppers!

I really wish I had read the other reviews before I gave this location my time, energy, and money…read more This is my first and last time visiting the Wake Forest location! I ordered my glasses on October 9th. Today is November 11th. The first time they were received, I saw two of everything. The lady who helped me with the try on advised me to "just wear them until my eyes adjust!" I said no! I'm leaving them here. I refused to put me or other in that kind of danger! She also said she confirmed the prescription was correct. I had to schedule a follow-up appointment to have my eyes examed a second time. During that visit, I was told something was definitely entered incorrectly. So the glasses had to be sent back to be corrected. I just went back to pick them up, and the vision was blurry. The receptionist was very kind but advised me that Kim would have to assist with adjusting them. The fit wasn't the issue. It was my vision. Kim was on lunch, so I gave the receptionist the bag with the new glasses and told her I would like a refund. She nor Kim was able to help with that, so I was told to call on Monday morning. I have been wearing glasses for almost 30 years & I've never experienced this before! At this point, I am OVER trying to correct the issue with this location!

Dr Dickman runs sort of an old school practice, medical aspects of eye health come first, contact…read morepreferences are by phone calls and personal contact. When you book your exam, it is first and foremost for the medical health evaluations - this has been my preference as I've aged. My first choice when relocating is finding a specialist in ophthalmology. Optometrists main concern is vision and may include some health tests. Opticians basically are eyewear/contacts providers mostly concerned with selling glasses/contacts. If you do not have a family history of eye health issues or personally have no medical eye needs, then an ophthalmologist such as Dr Dickman may be overkill for you. My family has a history of glaucoma, macular degeneration and many of us will face cataracts as we age. Since my 40s I've sought out experienced professionals with MD/DO degrees. I've been extremely happy with Dr Dickman. He is very professional, no nonsense, down to earth, offering facts about options without pushing the latest, greatest treatments - simply discusses the range of options and personal choices we face. Now, if your need is simply a vision exam, they do those as well, as a separate exam - possibly due to the complexity of insurance coverages these days. But optometrists will only do the vision exam with some basic checks for eye health issues. Entering the Universal practice, you'll find more info about eye health than designer frames covering the walls. The frame section is clearly a secondary addon service with a limited selection on display. Not a big issue for me personally, I use my same frames and just get lens replacement when the change is significant enough, I'm not into changing frames just to keep up with the latest fashion trend. My old silhouette frameless glasses are timeless! Anyway, if eye health is your primary concern, then I highly recommend Dr Dickman.

I had to call from one eye doctor to get the medication that Dr. Dickinson had prescribe me at my eye doctors appointment since they did not send over my medical records, I had to wait on the phone for 15 minutes for them to just tell me over the phone what my medication's were. They are a horrible practice to go to. I do not recommend once again for anybody to go there!

Efficient, Professional, and Excellent Custom Frame Service…read more Had a great experience at MyEyeDr in Wake Forest. Check-in was fast and efficient, and the exam itself was even quicker without feeling rushed. Everything moved smoothly and professionally from start to finish. Dr. Reiman arrived in the exam room in what was probably one of the fastest turnarounds we've experienced with any OD. She's very personable, easy to talk to, and clearly explains her assessment while providing strong, confident recommendations. You can tell she knows her craft and genuinely cares about patient understanding. A special shoutout to Devin, the optician, who was incredibly knowledgeable and patient while helping us with custom frames. We brought in three Chanel frames, and she took extra care to make sure everything was handled properly and fit just right. Her attention to detail and expertise really stood out. We're currently awaiting the return of our custom-ordered glasses, and based on the experience so far, we're confident they'll turn out great. Overall, a seamless, pleasant experience. Would definitely recommend this location to anyone looking for quality eye care and attentive customer service.

I wasn't able to get an appointment until August 11, so I called MED on Capcom . Surprise surprise ! I could get right in ! I went in , had the exam, Reese, the salesman, showed me a pair I liked , and the price was good, so I ordered them. They came in, I was NOT ABLE TO SEE !! They had my PD at 62, which is incorrect, it is actually 60. So another salesman ( Reese ) was not in that day, so Suzy helped me. She remeasured my Pupillary Distance , and came up with 59 1/2...closer but STILL incorrect ! Adults PD don't change once one becomes an adult. I was asked ' Who told you your PD was 60 ? ' Every Optometrist I've been to for 50 years ! So she said she fixed it, and again I waited till the glasses came back. AGAIN, I was unable to see. Every time I have to go back, I see someone different. I was, understandably upset, and asked for a refund. His name was Deven. He walked away, and the 5th person came out to talk to me. The last person I saw was the ' glasses ' tech, supposedly. Mary . I asked for a refund, she asked for another chance, I could come back on Monday or Tuesday of the next week, when my ' doc' was going to be back in , and she was sure the doc could tweak my script to my old one, so I might be able to see. She was upbeat, and said she was sure they could fix this. I would be getting an email to come in on Mon or Tues. At this point, I should have read the reviews FIRST ! This place has only a 3 star rating ! Also, I was told my astigmatism had changed. I was unaware I even had one ! No one previously has mentioned that I had one ! DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE !!!

I simply needed new lenses bc I took mine with me to the gym and they got messed up. It's literally been 12 1/2 months since my last visit but I was going to make an appointment anyway to see if my eyes had changed any: After I had made the appointment the lady or gentleman said "oh I just want to let you know you have to get an additional test the provider wants you to have and that's $50 on top of your deductible " uhm listen to what you just said. You want me to pay for something THE PROVIDER wants to do. I Bet they do want to charge everyone $50 extra but it should be a choice not a you have to do this bc the provider wants extra money. I just requested my prescription and will order it online. So much for being able to build local relationships bc everyone is so money hungry it's not enough to see someone for what their insurance will cover. You now have to try to squeeze more out for a test that is NOT necessary for a routine eye exam. He preformed my eye exam quickly after I explained mg symptoms then explained he would be ordering medication to the pharmacy I chose. However, he never took the time to explain what his formal diagnosis was. I understand it is the holidays, but I am paying to be seen here and have for years. I should never feel like I'm begging for his time. Second, I told him I was concerned about not being about to wear contacts in my eyes because my glasses need a higher prescription. He replied "that's why we get our prescriptions filled isn't it" ---- being the "board renowned optometrist" he is and "college educated" you should know that insurance companies typically only cover contacts or glasses not both--his demeanor is off putting, tone death, lacks bedside manner and egotistical. I had no issue with the woman optometrist I was seeing before him here. Please be better.
