When I finally talked to the Father, (it really is "Family" ) he said he was sorry I was upset, but never apologized for poor service. His son gave me the exam, the Mom checked the son's work, and the Father fitted the frames. I was happy until they kept letting the phone go to voice mail, and started with the texting.

An optical shop is only as good as the lab they use to make the lenses, and PL has, apparently,…read moreswitched to one making inferior ones. I have been using PL for decades and had no problems until the past year or so. The lenses I purchased (which have several coatings) began to deteriorate just weeks after purchase and I had to bring them back to be replaced---not once, but twice. This had never occurred in prior years. The second replacement pair continued to have wearing and peeling problems just weeks later, so I brought them to another Fairfield optician for review. I was told that the lens coatings were poor and had failed, and that the lens material (polycarbonate) was inferior to those available. So, I quickly ordered two sets of lenses and they are perfect. Among the improvements: my peripheral vision is now not distorted and my range of vision is much greater. So I simply wrote off the expense of the PL lenses. So, to sum up: the PL people are nice, but their current lab sucks. So, caveat emptor.

The frames they have available are stylish and diverse, so there is definitely a frame for everyone in this shop. Most all frames I came across ran me at least $200, so if you're looking for a discount eyewear store go to Walmart or JC Penny. The price you pay for the frames are really worth every penny though, especially if you are a daily glasses wearer like myself. Something that I found very unique about this shop is that they cut their own lenses right in the shop. Their turnaround from first visit to having your glasses on your face could be as little as one day, which is pretty amazing compared to the Pearle Visions or Lens Crafters that send them away and take a week or more. Overall, very satisfied. Customer service was good, staff is friendly, I'd definitely go back for my next pair of glasses.
