It's been a very long time since I've been back here. My friend suddenly wanted fried chicken, and I remembered they have one I like: green onion chicken. It still tasted the same, but I should have ordered it boneless. We ordered the deep-fried whole squid, which tasted delicious. The steamed egg was all right, and we also had the chicken wings. The service was great; they were always checking up on us to see if we needed anything. The atmosphere was nice; I loved the light decorations, and the music in the background wasn't too loud.
The place is over decorated into a Sakura garden. Not sure if that is good or not, but look weird to me. The service was attentive and fast. It is more than expected for a Korean chicken restaurant. However, the food is not good at all. Given the many positive reviews, I was expecting the fried chicken would be crispy and tasty. What I got was a very oily fried chicken that is over battered with flour and not crispy. The inside of the chicken also not moist, making the swallow, chewing and the flavor became a poor experience. So, given they are giving out free drinks for review, many people might have left good reviews without ever tasting the food. Therefore, many reviews from Google are not reliable. Surprisingly, there is a very good Korean fried chicken restaurant nearby that is less busy than here. I think more people should go to places with good food and good service instead. Therefore, leaving fake reviews is just bad practice that would hurt us, the consumers.
YUM YUM YUM! When arriving at the restaurant it was about 75% full on a Thursday night. Was greeted and seated quickly by the servers. It's a little dim in this location but it was nice that they had lots of televisions around that were playing k-pop in the back (BTS!). After looking at the menu and placing our orders, they placed complimentary pickled radish and pretzel sticks at our table to snack on. When asked about which fries to get on the menu, the server highly recommended the kimchi fries. FOOD: Kimchi fries 7/10 Although this was recommended by the server I felt a bit upsold on this item, as it was the most expensive fries on the menu (haha!). It lacked a lot of kimchi, only a few tiny cut up pieces were found. Had a lot of white sauce doused on top, I was so sure it was ranch, but the server told me it was mayo. Definitely not any of the thick types of mayo though as the sauce was quite runny. I didn't really enjoy that the mayo was so cold when topped on the piping hot fries as it made my food really cold really quickly. Rice with seaweed and roe 7.5/10 Solely comparing this to other locations (because I LOVE this stuff), it lacked some flavour to it and was quite dry. The seaweed that they used really dried up the rice and didn't have enough sauce to this. Would've been better if there was more sesame oil to top the dish. Fried chicken with green onions 8/10 Even as someone who does not enjoy wasabi that much, this was quite delicious. To our surprise the sauce that was topping this dish had a very pungent wasabi taste to it, it was not written on the menu or expected. However, it was quite delicious, and I can see that if you love wasabi, you would probably love this chicken. The large portion was generous and topped with a lot of green onion - YUM! Honey garlic fried chicken 10/10 The star of the show for me! This was absolutely delicious and what makes me want to come back asap! It came perfectly fried, perfectly sauced and the bonus was the few deep fried tteokbokki that it also came with. It was amazingly chewy, crispy on the outside and had the flavours of the honey garlic. It also had three fried potato wedges - not sure if it was meant to be in there or not. The fried chicken here overall is super juicy and has large portions which is so great. I can't wait to come back to try additional chicken flavours!
Location/Service This place is located by Yonge and Clark - within the same plaza as Cho Sun Ok. Parking is available all around and can expand to the plaza next door if it's full. Inside is very spacious and good with lightning - great for large or family groups. Service was okay, at the time we went (which was maybe around 3-4pm), they only had 1 staff on duty so it was a little closer than usual. But still very nice and appreciate the odd huge order that was placed at this odd time. Food Similar to their Sheppard location, their Korean Fried Chicken is very consistent and I love how there are many different flavours to choose from. My go to is the Honey Garlic flavour, the Garlic & Soy is also great. Of course pairing it up with beer, if you like, is a good choice - their combo setup for this is affordable and definitely sharable between groups of 4-5. Also tried their appetizers/snacks - I like the Toppoki and Seafood Pancake. It's pretty standard of ingredients and cooking style at any Korean place - but very comforting and addictive. Overall, I like how there's a closer KFC nearby Yonge and Steeles - so it's easier for the residential area nearby. They also have a bigger space that's great for game night.
My oh my! If you love fried things, and chicken...this is the place for you! They have a few locations but the Thornhill one is bigger and has a good size parking lot. We ordered squid, takoyaki, and 3 kinds of chicken - spicy, soy garlic, and onion. The spicy wasn't spicy at all and was saucy (I personally don't like overly saucy foods), but I really enjoyed the soy garlic and the onion (the mounds of green onions on top is definitely calling for a breath mint afterwards lol). All the chicken was well prepared and hot, the takoyaki was delicious Service was really friendly and polite . And by the time we left, the place was hopping hopping! If you like fried things, definitely give this spot a try!
Who doesn't like Korean Fried Chicken? This location is a bit bigger than the one further down the road near Shepard. We had a group and ordered a bunch of things. From the squid, to takoyaki to the variety of chickens. If it could be fried, we basically had it. All tasty, service was good.
A great location! We've been to this place before at a different location but discovered they had one a little bit closer to home. We got seated pretty quickly. We had a hard time choosing because there were so many good options. Ended up getting one classic flavor and one traditional flavor. Loved both and would live to try all the others!
I haven't had too much Korean Fried Chicken but MyMy Chicken did not disappoint! After seating us we were given a free side of popcorn and radish. When we finished the popcorn they asked us if we would like a refill. We ordered half-half of the gold cheese chicken and the green onion chicken. We also ordered a side of fries and some drinks. The gold cheese chicken was ok, nothing special as it just tasted like chicken with cheese on top. The green onion chicken was very tasty and was actually topped with lots of green onion! The fries were normal and kind of pricey. Will come back again to try their other flavours and sides!
So happy to have Korean fried chicken again fresh from the restaurant! Came here and sat on their patio which is a tent so it's covered and protected from the elements. There was ample spacing between the tables which I appreciated since I've seen some pretty crowded patios lately. We had called and made a reservation earlier in the week. Their chicken was yummy as usual. I got their boneless soy garlic and boneless padak. The chicken pieces were really big! The padak sauce has a slight horseradish taste which cuts the typical oiliness of fried chicken. Also tried their cheese balls and fried chicken skin this time. I personally wouldn't order these again because I found them too heavy (my friends wanted to try). You can do a cheese pull with the cheese balls and they're a good size - like the sesame balls from dimsum. The chicken size comes with a sweet chilli sauce that helps cut the heaviness down.
My friends and I were craving Korean Fried Chicken and ordered takeout. I put my order in the night before so that it could be picked up soon after the restaurant opened the next day. My order was ready when I got there. After confirming my telephone number I was told that we were given a complimentary order of fried dumplings. I was very appreciative of the nice gesture. The container for the fries had holes cut into it to prevent the fries from getting soggy. The aroma of the fried chicken in the car was bordering on torturous. The scent was amazing. The golden cheese chicken had a good amount of melted cheese and the seasoned spicy wasn't that spicy. However, if you dipped your chicken into the sauce you could definitely taste the spiciness. The radishes were a good palate cleanser and the fries nice and crispy.
[Review was based on experience weeks ago] I think Mymy is one of the best KFC places in Toronto and I am glad that there are multiple locations of this branch here. I have tried a few of their flavors already and for this particular location, I ordered the honey garlic chicken. There was a wait even though we were the only ones at that time but we went when it just opened for the day. The chicken came out hot and it was so delicious. The dduk paired very well with the chicken and that the sauce was amazing as it wasn't too sweet! I'd say it was a good portion for two people although it is on the pricer side.
My...My... Have you heard! My countrymen have re-branded KFC! OMG... I can't believe I am a fan of KFC! Korean Fried Chicken! Been here a couple of times. I have to say really enjoying the juicy and crispy and really meaty chicken here. Definitely better to have KFC than wings! Love the turnip bits and salad that they also serve! For those who have tried ChiMaek, you know what it is. For those who don't know... well my people are not that creative. ChiMaek is having Chicken and Beer. Beer in Korean is MaekJu so... CHIckenMAEKju = ChiMaek (insert disappointing sound here!). Case in point, have heard of SoMaek... yeah, it's SoJu and MaekJu. LOL! Had the Combo Original with the hot sauce one. Very good. The cheese one is a bit weird. Basically, it's shredded cheese on top and the orange power from Kraft Mac'n'Cheese below. Not my 'thang! Anyway, if you are heading to your fav wing place, drop by MyMy and try some KFC. You might be a convert too! Cheers!!!
Food 4/5 Service 4/5 Ambience- This is our go-to for Korean fried chicken. My favourite is the chicken with the green onion topping, bone-in. There is a wasabi based sauce that comes with the order and it has just the right amount of wasabi. There is a small accompaniment of pickled turnips. I have only done take-out. The parking is always very busy as the restaurant is beside a popular eatery within this small plaza strip. read more
Mymy Chicken is one of the best Korean fried chicken places in Thornhill, Toronto! We ordered a couple of items. Among the dishes we had, the Golden Cheese & Original half-n-half was really good. Fully loaded with shredded cheddar and a slight hint of sweetness blended in chicken seasoning. The meat was tender and juicy in a good Korean FC standard. It was absolutely delicious. We brought two pieces of leftover home and surprisingly, they were still very tasty the next day from airfryer! Nice decor with a cozy ambiance. Lots of parking space in the plaza. I like this place. It's expensive, but I'm from out of town and I always go to Mymy Chicken when I visit Toronto because it's my favorite in the area. The seasoned cream and cheese is my favorite, with cheese powder and melted shredded cheese plus a slightly sweet cream sauce. They put just enough sauce to add extra flavor but not too much that the chicken loses crispy-ness. I also tried the gyeran jjim (steamed egg), which was $10. The portion is large and definitely meant to be shared. It was overcooked and more of an omelette than a steamed egg, but the flavor was still good. It had sesame seeds and green onion in it. One bottle of soju was $21 (I think, maybe $23?), which is wildly expensive. But, as I said, I was on vacation and I wanted to treat myself. Overall, amazing chicken, but probably not a place I would go to regularly if I lived in Toronto due to the high prices. But if you want a treat, the quality of the chicken is excellent. read more

Tried the Green Onion, Soya Garlic and Spicy chicken this time. Green Onion version is interesting with a Wasabi sauce, not too spicy but the Wasabi taste is there. I ordered bone-in, but got bone-less chicken instead, communication issues, but was still good. read more
Oh my Oh my.... My My Chicken is best known for KFC which means Korean Fried Chicken (not Southern Fried KFC). The best deal is Go Half - Half for $29 so you can try more than one flavour. Get a small size of Original Fried plus your choice a Seasoned Spicy, Gold Cheese or Onion. You have the choice of ordering chicken with bones or boneless. This is enough for 2 to 4 people to share depending on how hungry you are. We placed our order with bone in which includes about 8 pieces of chicken per flavour ... generous portions here. The server also brought us a complimentary bowl of salad with a light vinaigrette, a refreshing combination with chicken. We ordered Original and Seasoned Spicy. I have had the Gold Cheese in the past but didn't care for it with the powdered cheddar cheese that was sprinkled on top of the chicken. However my favourite so far is the Original for its crunchy batter. Pieces of chicken were a good size and was quite juicy! The Banchan includes pretzels and pickled turnip which goes nicely with beer. A quiet place for lunch but a much more lively place in the evening with a young hip crowd! I will be back for more KFC at My My Chicken!! read more
I heard about Korean fried chicken and always wanted to try it. Finally decided to try it after driving by this location. It wasn't busy but it was around 9 pm after dinner rush. I tried the crispy chicken sm size. For the price I was expecting more. But Wow Was I ever pleased with the flavour, the juiciness and crispiest chicken ever It was almost perfectly done in my opinion Can't say much about the other menu options However I will be back Probably just stick with this crispy choice Can't go wrong And Way better than that KFC other brand read more

One of my favourite Korean fried chicken spots. First time visiting this location & noticed that they don't open their patio section until 3pm. There weren't that many customers inside though, and the tables were pretty spread out so we still felt comfortable dining indoors. We ordered "Small" orders of the Golden Cheese Chicken and the Garlic & Soy Sauce Chicken - delicious!!! We originally wanted to get a large (half/half) but didn't realize that those two flavours were not part of the half/half menu, but that's fine :) For appetizers, we also ordered the Calamari and Fries with Onion Seasoning & Honey Sauce. Amongst 3 girls, we found the portions pretty big and were only able to finish about half of the food read more
Our second visit to this Korean Fried Chicken restaurant. Exceeded our expectations. Green onion fried chicken bone-in crispy and juicy. Takoyaki octopus balls were to die for and Sapporo beer to wash everything down. Great Father's day meal. read more

I was skeptical and hesitate to try out this new location for Mymy Chicken after reading all these negative reviews. I did come with low expectation. Even on a Tuesday evening, the restaurant was busy. They do have plenty of seating, aside from the main dining area, they also have another area on the right for overflow. Menu is similar to the other Mymy. Sadly this location does not have a popcorn machine so no fresh popcorn as a side. Maybe they can get one? :) Half and Half (Spicy and Golden Cheese) is my usual order which is quite consistent with their Spring Garden location. The spicy sauce definitely on a sweeter side. Service was surprisingly good even when the restaurant was packed with only 2 servers. One of the server even noticed I was coughing and offered to get me some hot water. When we were paying, our server even offered to do separate bills for us. This would probably be the Mymy location I would visit from now on because of the free ample parking. read more
I had high expectations for MyMy Chicken since I've heard so many great things about it. The chicken itself was good. It wasn't dry and did not have too much batter. Good balance of juiciness and fried batter. Overall, other than the green onion flavour standing out since other KFC places don't have this flavour, I'd say MyMy Chicken isn't really anything that special. Maybe it was overhyped for me. I got the green onion and soy garlic flavour. The Green onion flavour was great! The sauce for the green onion is a light wasabi sauce with a bit of sweetness. For those who don't like wasabi, don't pass on this flavour! It's unique and the wasabi isn't strong or overpowering. Just a tiny hint of it. The crunchiness of the green onion is what makes this dish special. It also gives the chicken a "refreshing" taste when you eat it together with the green onions. The soy garlic flavour was disappointing. There wasn't anything special about it and the flavour itself didn't stand out. It was basic soy sauce chicken at its best. I ate this with the green onion and sauce from the other flavour so that it would have more taste. The meal came with complimentary vegetarian spring rolls that were sort of stale and the taste was bland, but it was free so no complaints. Also comes with a side of pickled white radish that was nice, crunchy, and refreshing. read more

What better place to catch up with friends then at KFC? Super chill spot and very spacious during these COVID times. I like that it was located in a plaza so parking in that area was a breeze and FREE lol. My friends and I were the only tables there at the time so service was super quick and attentive (we got there around 8 pm on a Thursday). We ordered a large green onion chicken (whole chicken) and a small seasoned spicy chicken (half chicken) - now, I've heard a lot of great things about the fried chicken here and I'm glad that for once the chicken was even better and beyond all the hype! The chicken was perfectly crispy, juicy and soo tender. It also came out pipping HOT but even then my friends and I devoured it within minutes lol! We also ordered apps on the side but honestly those were just okay. We ordered the calamari, spicy rice cake with cheese and kimchi fries. The calamari was our least favourite - it was shaped like an onion ring and honestly tasted like it too... The rice cake was standard but spicier than usual at other Korean restaurants! I was most excited for the kimchi fries but that was a let down - there was barely any kimchi and the cheese just didn't do it justice .. it got too hard and cold too fast so it is only edible the first few minutes they brought it to our table. I was expecting it to come with mayo and a lot more kimchi like other places.. that way we'd be able to pick at it throughout our meal and it'll still taste good :( Though the chicken is delicious, Mymy is not on the top of my return-to list - I like to order apps with my chicken and the apps here just didn't hit the mark. If I were to return I'd skip the apps and go straight for the chicken only.. 3.5/5 for the service and chicken though :) read more
Yes, more chicken. We were just so happy that we didn't have to haggle with pricy parking issue in Spring Garden location. But looks like that's about it. When all my buddies moved to MyMy from the Fry's, it was not only because of the batter, but also of the portion amount. Sadly, that's not the case anymore. As seen on the photo, looks like they reduced touchy bit from what Spring Garden one used to offer. The golden rule i believe, and so does probably everyone is, never play around with the portion unless you're selling something with 1000g sugar for a serving. We aren't on diet when we come for the fried chicken, no? In terms of quality, it's the same MyMy Chicken, so the rest assured. I think they did great job in keeping the quality of the food. The place is very spacious too! It could be ideal joint for big gathering, that's for sure. But yes, please do something about the portion :( read more

Delicious KFC (Korean fried chicken). They have many different flavours of fried chicken to choose from. Chicken was crispy and flavourful. If you want Korean fried chicken look no further. read more
I've had mymy a couple times as takeout (never from this location), but I've only had it once as eat in (downtown location). Today, my friend and I went to this location for lunch. They're open for lunch! Do you know how many Korean fried chicken places are closed for lunch? TOO MANY. Bonus. They have a 10% off deal related to social media so check the stickers on the table for more info. It wasn't very busy when we went, so it wasn't very loud. They were playing a number of contemporary K-pop girl group songs which were fun to watch. Service was fairly prompt and very courteous. They also checked in to see how we were doing from time to time and to see what we thought of the food. It was delicious. There's no popcorn at this location. They do have salted pretzels and the pickled radish cubes. Mmmm. Radish cubes. They also brought out a spring mix salad with sweet peppers and little tomatoes free of charge, which was very kind of them. A bite of salad every few bites of chicken makes a nice palate cleanser and makes the meal healthier! Green onion chicken: I've had the green onion chicken as take out, but eat in is a whole other thing. It's so much better fresh. As my friend puts it, this isn't a dry chicken. It's not sticky gooey sauce, but it's got a thin sort of slightly sweet, slightly tart wasabi sauce. It doesn't burn, but it has a bit of bite. There's a LOAD of shredded green onion on top. It helps balance out some of that fried chicken, because it's nice to change up the flavors and textures once in a while. The chicken is nice and crispy crunchy and the meat is juicy, even after the chicken has been sitting out for a while. Honey garlic chicken: Honey garlic is a love of mine. This one is very good. It doesn't have that bottled fake honey garlic taste to it. It's quite garlicky too. It also comes with a few pieces of fried rice cake and a few pieces of fried sweet potato. Both just add to the whole honey garlic chicken experience. The rice cake is nice and chewy and fried sweet potato covered in honey sauce is always amazing. We got both kinds of chicken bone in (because it keeps things interesting), but you can also get it boneless at the same cost, if I'm not mistaken. I'll be back. Craving satisfied!! Juicy, crunchy, and tasty. Love the side pickled radish that balances the fried chicken. Been on my 'place to try' for a while, but never get to it. During 'hibernation' (covid) time, finally uber-order it. Was a bit skeptical at first because it may not be crunchy (fresh) as if we dine in. But they pack my order with care and chicken is still delish!! Will come in person when isolation is over. read more
Ackkk i wanna give higher ratings but the shredded cheese over the fried chicken was not a good idea. The original recipe was all right but overall, I think it was the service I enjoyed and the side dishes provided. Really wanted to like this place but may just kick it back with something simple like fries and a beer next time... read more
Nothing like beer and fried chicken after work. Came here with some colleagues and ordered the spicy savory as well as the original fried chicken. We all preferred the spicy savory! It was nice and saucy. Service was great and i'll be back here to try the chicken and cheese flavors as well as the honey garlic chicken. read more
I came Saturday for dinner with my family. Restaurant was not busy and we were quickly seated. We ordered the kimchi fries, half and half original and spicy chicken with bone and spicy rice cakes. First kimchi fries. I had high expectations for it. But all they were are frozen fries covered with cheese and bits of kimchi. Not really impressed at all. And0 they charged $12.99. The flavours were ok though. Acid of the kimchi cuts the flavours of the cheese and fries. But nothing special. Spicy rice cakes on the other hand were standard. Well really how can you mess up rice cakes? Rice cakes were soft and chewy. Flavour of the sauce was not too spicy and came with fish cakes. Now for the verdict on the KFC. I recently came back from South Korea and had their "authentic KFC" I was trying to find the place that is similar to what I ate. So mymy chicken's KFC wasn't true KFC in my opinion. It tasted literally like Kentucky fried chicken. Dont get me wrong. The chicken was crispy. Wasnt really piping hot. Original was definitely better than the spicy. Spicy flavour was just sugar and hot pepper paste. No spice and so sweet. Overall not really impressed. Will try other fried chicken joints. read more

We were quite skeptical to try out this location due to all the negative reviews. However, we were pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. FOOD: Green Onion Chicken ($18.99~S~) The fried chicken was crispy and so juicy. Every piece was soft and tender and was not dry at all. The green onion went really well with the chicken. Spicy Rice Cake ($12.99) Portions were huge and they give a generous amount of rice and fish cake. Kimchi Fries ($10.99) Crispy fries topped with kimchi, gravy and cheese. Absolutely delectable. Mymy Chicken delivers some pretty impressive KFC! read more

Oh my my my, oh my my my, I've waited all my li- ok I'll stop. Korean fried chicken. Honestly can you really go wrong? Who in the right mind doesn't like fried chicken? It's been a while since I've had korean fried chicken and recently I've been craving it. I decided to hit up Mymy Chicken at their Steeles location. We ordered the Spicy & Sweet Chicken, which only comes in a Large and also got it boneless for no extra charge. The chicken was juicy and very crispy, and the sauce had a really nice kick to it. After eating more, it did start to get spicier but it wasn't overpowering or anything. The dish also comes with some ddukbokki (rice cakes) and goguma (sweet potatoes) which worked very well as it was nice to have some carbs to go with all the protein. We were also given a free bowl of salad with vinaigrette dressing so that was super nice of them. The bill came out to around $40 after tax and tips, so for 2 people it's around $20 each. While the prices look steep at first, you have to remember that you're getting a bunch of chicken rather than some carb heavy dish, and we were both stuffed by the end of it. Was looking for a restaurant in the area, but all the BBQ locations were packed. We decided to try this location. Thought it would be similar/the same as the Fry in the area. The seating there is abundant. There are many tables and it wasn't busy when we went. Ordered the rice cakes and the fried chicken combo (regular chicken and golden cheese chicken). The chicken was ok, but the rice cakes were very good. We were not a fan of the golden chicken. We thought it would be melted cheese on the fired chicken, but it really wasn't. It was just powdered cheese and then covered cheddar cheese on top. Service was a bit slow. Waited a while just to get our drinks, but it could be that they were understaffed. The waiting staff was running around, so couldn't blame him that it was a little bit slower. Overall, it was a M'eh experience. Probably won't go back. didn't have an amazing experience. read more
