I have been coming to Mynt Nails for years & years & years! I love this place so much and I am so picky about my nails! I have gone through and tried my fair share of nail salons before finally finding Mynt Nails. Now, I'm never going to go anywhere else as long as I remain in this area! To paint a bit of a picture as to how important I value nail care, I have been extremely (and perhaps overly) precautious with everything when it comes to this pandemic. I do not leave my house really for anything short of essential, but the second nail salons reopened in Michigan, I scheduled an appointment for the very next day back at Mynt Nails. It's that important to my self-care and mental health! They have everything that I'm looking for in a salon. Great prices, great quality, great staff. Over my many years of coming here 1-2 times a month, I can safely say that I've gotten my nails done by every single employee here. They are all great and do a thorough job, which is why I've never felt the need to request one nail technician in particular. For reference, I predominantly do shellac manicures and a regular pedicure. Occasionally, I'll do a dip manicure or regular polish for fun nail art designs! Their space is bright, clean, and open. They have comfortable massage chairs for pedicures, clean workspaces for manicures, and I feel very safe here during COVID times. They have transparent barriers up at every station, sit people every other station at both the manicure and pedicure chairs, have individual little bags for the paraffin wax at the end of the manicure now, and of course everyone wear masks. They have signs up everywhere displaying that you must wear masks to enter the establishment & also require everyone to sign in with their information as well so they can keep track of their customers. They are doing everything right during this pandemic. I know it's a really difficult time for small businesses right now, so I really appreciate them abiding by all the rules and adapting to all the changes as needed. I went here three times. It's a bit more expensive than most salons and every time took longer than it should. But that's ok. Lena is really detail oriented and the girl who does the intricate nail designs (Sarah?) is amazing too. However I broke a few nails and went in to get them fixed, wait a for at least an hour and was told to come back after it had time to breathe. When I tried to make an appointment, so I wouldn't have to wait a long time again, they told me to just do a walk-in bc they don't make appointments which I know they do. They literally have the computer screen with the schedule on it on the wall behind the desk. I couldn't talk them into blocking 30 minutes off for me. That's just bad customer service. I was also going to get all of my nails repainted and reshaped, it's not like a five minute fix. When I find a salon I like I'm a regular customer and I get designs so I know they're making a pretty penny on me, but I guess my patronage wasn't that important to them. read more

The last nail salon I posted about Bloomfield nails was OK but I was not pleased later on with the quality of my nails. The picture I left is of them after a week and they are still looking quite nicely. I got these done on a Monday and the nail salon was basically empty. My nail person did a very good job And was very oriented to detail when it came to my nails. She took care of my cuticles which sometimes you don't get in nail salons and she matched the length of my nails when she cut them down. I walked in to have my nails done and had the technician Steve. I asked for gel nails and he did a fabulous job. A week later I have had no issues. A week and one day later one nails began peeling up. Another issue I had was he charged me $38 for a gel nail manicure. Pre-tip. Nothing special added just chose a pink color. Unbelievable pricing. I have never been happier with a shellac manicure! At first I was apprehensive to pay $35 for a shellac mani. When I walked into Mynt Nails, I was surprised by not only how clean and friendly everyone was, but by their wide assortment of gel polishes. I quickly found a color I liked and was then assisted by Mai. I cannot rave enough about how sweet Mai was! She was very gentle removing my previous shellac manicure. She paid attention to each and every part of my nail, especially when shaping them. She took her time cutting my cuticles, buffing my nails, and especially painting them. The manicure was topped off with a paraffin wax, which left my hands feeling smooth. Unlike most salons in the Rochester area, Mynt accepts payment AND tip on credit cards. I have already set my next two appointments for a shellac manicure, eyebrow wax, and eyelash lift! They take their time and they don't rush you and they use new tools for every new client, also when I do regular nail polish they last like if they are gel nail polish. I called at 3:45 and they took me at 4:15, which was so convenient! The location is honestly confusing because it's hidden in a plaza and the sign is white I believe so I passed it about 3 times until i found it Chewy was great! I got a shellac manicure and a tie polish change. Both were great! However- the only thing I wasn't crazy about is that my thumb was chipped and an acrylic was used- which is fine! I was not told the price upfront and when I got my pedicure done, I waited for 30 minutes at least for somebody to come and tell me that they were ready to start my full set. Not sure what the dry stuff is at the bed of my nails, but to be honest with you the nails already feel like they are lifting, and the polish has air bubbles, and it's uneven. This is the best place I've ever had my nails done. Best pedicures, best nails and art. And the best prices around too. We wont go anywhere else ever EDIT: we are not going here anymore. They do great for pedicures and have pretty good shellac. But do NOT go here for acrylics. We gave them 2 different shots and we won't be back for acrylics. My mom and I both had to get our nails filled THREE times in 3 weeks. The first two times here at mynt. The last somewhere else. The first time, so a full set, lasted a week before we went back and got them redone. For both of us we had lifting something terrible, and the polish finish was just terrible. It was very dingy and gross looking after just 3 days. Idk if it's their top coat or what. But it's bad. The 2nd chance we gave them our nails lasted 12 days before they were falling off and the polish, again, was nasty looking after 3 days. We both got French designs and it went from a nice clear base to a NASTY yellow-y gray color in days. It's got to be the top coats. It's all I can figure. But the acrylics them selves ere bad and thick and lumpy bumpy too. Plus 6 out of ten nails were lifting and almost popping all the way off in just 10 days. Had to be craaaazy careful not to lose one. And I'm NOT hard on my hands anymore. Used to be. But, long story short, I got sick and had to stop working for the mean time, so just I don't do any hard work with my hands really. It's Just...not good. We will go back for pedicures cause they do a great job at those!! And all their supplies are autoclave disinfected and that's amazing to me. Good prices too. Plus leg and foot massages and paraffin. Just lovely. But we won't be doing our hands there anymore. I'm giving them 3 stars still because of prices, the nice atmosphere, and the autoclaved equipment. The cleanliness is a big deal to me being a medical field person. Staff is super friendly too. But they just don't have the talent for acrylic. It bums me out frankly. Wish it was different. This is a nice clean nail salon. They offer many other services too. I went with my 12 year old daughter. She had a shellac pedicure and I got the shellac manicure. The hot wax dip after was a nice addition. The total was higher then I've ever normally paid. My usual place was totally booked so I called here and got right in.
