Just the right amount of pressure where I'm not wincing but enough to feel that relief of tightness after the session. The hidden gem that is Jennifer Yau. At the end of our appointment I told her that she was the best physiotherapist I've ever encountered. With Jennifer it was a holistic experience - clinical excellence, winning personality, and client-service oriented. I requested we get straight to manual therapy as with many other physio therapists, we spend forever talking and filling out useless forms that have no relevance to me. Jennifer obliged while at first pointing out what may be the source of my back pain and misalignment - my feet. It's the first time I had someone go through all the various symptoms and quickly dial in on a specific actionable part, and for me to feel confident and hopeful that I could actually work and improve upon it. Front desk was friendly and efficient / enjoyed chatting with them at the end. This location is a bit more run-down than their other ones, but still a decent place compared to many other places where I've had treatment. Overall highly recommend - especially if you're lucky enough to get on Jennifer's schedule. read more

I went for a "myodetox" session yesterday, and all I got was the worst chiropractor session of my life. The guy was a hack. Couldn't manipulate my spine... literally was jumping on my 3-4 times to try to get a shift...and nothing. Then no suggestions on any significant work to do (a couple of generic stretches with an elastic exercise band...) What a joke. These guys are hiding average work behind a fancy name: 'myodetox"-lets break that word down Myo="muscle or relating to muscle" Detox="abstain from or rid the body of toxic or unhealthy substances" So first what does a chiropractor have to do with this (they primarily focus on bones...) and seriously what am I supposed to be abstaining from... I'll tell you (or warn you) stay away from this clinic! read more

Great PTs! They have massage therapists and acupuncture too. Their facility is quite new and they are very good with keeping everything clean. I haven't had a physio before so I don't have anyone to compare to but I like Ian. He's very helpful. He knows what he's doing and always adapts to any issues I have. The only thing I don't like is when they have start working on a second patient. Their slots are about 30 mins apart but this didn't happen much when I booked early morning appointments. It's not a terrible thing cause I'm usually doing multiple sets of something or getting iced by now. Plus I know what I'm doing. For people who aren't as familiar with the exercises or the rehab, might find it more fustrating. read more

I booked a 7am massage at their location on Main, hoping to find a neighbourhood RMT, and the therapist was a no show. The receptionist didn't say anything to me until I asked where he was, five minutes past the hour. He never picked up, I left, and they never called or offered me anything for the wasted time. I pulled a muscle in my neck and could barely turn my head to one side. I've only been for a massage twice before years ago but I had a message from Douglas and I left there with almost full range of motion in my neck. I was pretty impressed. I am a bit of a fitness junkie as well as an avid Crossfitter so I have seen my fair share of injuries. Each time I manage to get myself into a bit of an accident or my body finds a painful way of telling me that its had enough, the first person I call is Jessie at the Physio Room. She gives me clear and definable goals to attain that makes rehab as short as possible. In the past, I have had PT's that would make me sit on my butt and restricted all my hobbies for weeks on end which did not sit well with me. Jessie is different. She respects the fact that I still need to maintain my fitness while going through rehab. Can't let gains disappear while being injured! This experience was a wow clear across the board. From the moment I logged onto their website, I was blown away by the utility and features on the site itself. The entire process has been artfully put together from the intake forms to the appointment booking. What I love the most about this is that it's extremely time-efficient. I arrived at my appointment and everything was ready to go. The waivers that I signed were on laminated paper that the company scanned - environmentally conscious too? Awesome! Robyn, who is new to the team was awesome to work with. She was professional, informative and left me with plenty of things to work on over the week until our follow up. Super nice place, modern equipment (ultrasound/electric current machines, compression/ice therapy/exercise machines and tools) and incredibly friendly, helpful staff. Sidney and Clara at reception are awesome and accommodating, and Nick is great to work with as a physiotherapist. He also has training in acupuncture, and does a mean tape job when required! I've had massages from Doug twice, which have been punishing but rewarding in the end, and he always makes sure you are doing ok during the painful parts :) The only unfortunate part is that I've heard the same Lady Gaga song literally every time I've been for physio...but I guess that's more the radio's fault than the Physio Room! read more

I joined the Own The Run program this year for the BMO Marathon and it was amazing! My Physiotherapist Ian Pyrie, really has an extensive knowledge with how to properly condition your body. He was able to assess my strength, make sure my body was alright, and build a training program catered specifically for me. I end up hitting my marathon goal, and a lot of it was due to Physio Room. Definitely recommend going there if you're looking for a quality physio clinic with a ton of friendly staff! read more

The PTs here are extremely thorough and knowledgeable. At my first intake appointment the PT took her time to fully examine me, ask in-depth questions about my injury, and also gave detailed instructions on home exercises and modifying workouts. Staff are friendly and there's coffee and tea in the waiting room. Great for UBC students - they're on the UBC student health network, which ends up saving you a fair bit of $! read more

Bad customer service and inexperienced massage therapist I have received massages for years with many different practitioners. This was the worst treatment I have ever experienced in my life. Had a session with Tanner at the Kisilano Myodetox Vancouver location.He had minimal skills ,no technique or knowledge.Overall incompetent and a very unprofessional service.The receptionist is rude. I had a bad lower back injury 2 months ago and i was looking for a convenient location from my place (olympic village) My friend recommened me to check out physioroom on main and 16 or 17th i forgot but by the pho place. I saw Nick the owner of the place. The renovation, equipment, cleaniness and service is top notch. They r always packed but i never have to wait long or at all for my appointment. I hate it when im booked in for a appointment at 3 and i actually start at 3:15. But ya my back is fixed after 5 sessions and im feeling great. I would recommend this place to everyone. read more

Excellent staff and space! I was recommended by a friend and after going to them, read that they were voted Best Physio in the Guardian. It's true: the staff is excellent, the service is superb. I've been seeing Nick Lo who actually owns and operates it, and was happy to know that he still practices and doesn't just manage the business. He gives great attention and suggestions to help improve. What I like the most is he doesn't let you get away with accepting some pain and chalking it up to something that really isn't the cause of it. He is committed to your improvement and wants to see it, not just let you go your merry but painful way to not taking care of your body. Clean facilities also help! I had a problem with my lower back (disk) and ehile I was waiting for CT-Scan, my doctor suggested that I go see a physioterapist. After a day of researching and reading reviews, I chose this location and decided to go with David Carter (neat feauture to have their bio on their website and very convinient online booking system in place). He was very friendly and knowledgable and found the problem right away. He showed me some exercises to do at home and in the gym, took videos of me doing them and emailed them to me. He fixed my back according to the timeline set and me and my doctor were very happy with the results. Other staff were also very nice as well. For sure will go back for some adjustments later on. read more

Nick is a solid physiotherapist. I went there for a sports injury and explained that I just wanted a diagnosis and some exercises to do, rather than coming in a bunch of times to work out there. Nick was very helpful in diagnosing the problem, and the exercises were well-suited to my needs. I got better quickly, and have dropped in a few more times for a fix. read more

Found online and went to try out for my ACL knee after 6 months recovery. I met Jessie Wong who looks young but very professional. She checked out my knee and gave me massage the area (very good after), showed me all different exercise to improve my knee strength. Asked me to exercise myself at home. At the end, very honestly tell me no need to come see her so often with my case (as my surgeon also told). I am very happy with her way of treatment, professional and up today treatment. Was quite disappointed with my experience only because I went to another therapist shortly after and wished I hadn't gone to physio room. The person I saw was not very friendly and although the facility was clean and I saw positive results, I didn't receive any knowledge compared to the therapist I saw somewhere else. The therapist lacked any passion and knowledge compared to the other therapist I saw who explained my injury and recovery process- information I never got whatsoever at physio room. I felt like I was just more paperwork for the therapist to deal with. read more
