Wow wow wow! Soooo good! The service and the food were phenomenal! We went in late due to another bad experience at an alternate location. And everything we ordered was just a dream. The crab hush puppies were perfect, even the mushroom skewers were delicious, but the bruschetta was out of this world. We all just wanted a full sandwich of that. The seafood linguini was good (though I say use the local shrimp and it would have been even more perfect). The salmon special was good! And they were great with accommodating a shellfish allergy for their steak option with fries. And the view over the Marina was just amazing. We were happy we choose this place to have a light evening meal and a cocktail. Their menu looks interesting but we were not very hungry so we opted for the mushroom skewer (2 skewers, each about 5 mushrooms) which had a nice texture but not really much flavor. But the beet salad with ricotta and quinoa was delicious and well presented. We also shared the meat/cheese platter (3 choices for $18): mole salami was really good, Myril lavender goat cheese was excellent and my favorite because of the forward but still subtle lavender flavor, with honey drizzle. And the finocchiona which was tasty because of the fennel flavoring. It was presented with cranberry compote (blah) and a sherry spicy mustard (super yum). And some crostini and crackers. I personally would serve more crackers/crostini with it, we ran out quickly. I had the cocktail Lady on the Flamingo (Jameson, amaretto, orange bitter and ?) and my mother had the Classy Rita. We both really liked the flavors of our cocktail! The restaurant was not busy on a Weekday night. Service was impeccable. And plenty of parking. Cute views to the harbor, but unfortunately it was pretty foggy so we did not see the bridge or very far across the water. Overall, a solid choice when in Newport. Myril has become our favorite date night spot in Newport. My husband and I enjoy the bay view of the dining area and the cozy fireplace lounge tucked by the bar. Creative well balanced cocktails, and the food menu has a little something for everyone. My favorites are the brussels sprouts, steak frites with rouge blue cheese, beet ricotta salad, and a pickle whimsy. The staff is attentive and friendly, we always feel well looked after. Wow! This place is beautiful & has an amazing view of the bridge and bay. It is located inside of the Embarcadero Hotel. You go right into the lobby and it's up the stairs. **The food excellent. It's served small dish style & meant to be shared. Except the burger was a full size burger and it was great. We shared it too. We ordered the carrots, cauliflower, Cesar salad, chicken thighs, Lemon Drop & coffee. Our waitress was a delightful woman who made sure we were well taken care of. It wasn't crowded, so we were about to really marvel at the attention to detail in the food and the decor. We will be back! read more

I have withheld a review after several visits to Myril. The view and ambiance are stellar unfortunately three out of the last four visits have resulted in me sending my food back. My friends and I have been several times for Wednesday burger night with very disappointing results. I have asked for my burger medium rare and each time it came out beyond well done and so over salted it was impossible to eat. I promise you I am not "that" customer who is difficult, it truly was awful. The staff were kind although a bit dismissive of my concerns. I'll take a Mad Dog burger every time read more

We were searching for something new in Newport. We found it in Myril Eatery and Wine Bar. First off, the view is spectacular. Don't go expecting big plates of food falling over the sides of your plate. What you get here is true tapas style dishes. We ate here two nights. The first night was a tapas Tuesday where you could make a selection from their menu. We selected a dish of sliced spiked watermelon with a drizzle of cider bourbon vinaigrette, mint, and pepper. Our second choice was fried chicken thighs (tea brine, buttermilk, K-fried) hot honey with mustard pickles on the side. Our third was Dungeness Crab Hushpuppies with charred scallion aoli. Finally we had weathervane scallops on a roasted red pepper coulies, cashew & basil, gremolata To top it, we had fresh caught King salmon with seared green beans on a bed of polenta. All fantastic with leftovers for breakfast the next day. We decided to return the next night. We reordered the chicken thighs and something new. We each ordered a burger and fries. Why you ask? It was burger and wine Wednesday. We were not disappointed. And again, we have leftovers for breakfast lol. To finish off we brought home a carrot cake and a chocolate decadence for later this evening. We will be going back to this wonderful new find and letting all of our friends in on the secret place with a wonderful view. I forgot to mention the wine list is fantastic. We came here for a pre-Valentines dinner on February 13. First when we were sat at our table, the table was soaking wet and they had to wipe it down with a paper towel. Next, we both ordered two drinks, drinks came in wrong glasses and neither had garnishes, but the taste was fine. From there, we ordered the Valentine's Day five course special. The portion sizes were small, but that was fine since there were multiple courses however, the taste and quality of the food themselves were a 6.5 out of 10 at best. From the moment we walked in we were met with a friendly and welcoming hostess and she introduced to our server, Kendra who took extra good care of our large group of 13. She provided recommendations and knew the menu well. The cocktails were delicious. And the spiked watermelon was melt in your mouth. This is our favorite date night, anniversary night, happy hour night and all around favorite! We were a party of 3 and two of us order the catch of the day. The salmon was cooked perfectly for one of us and the other thought it was a little undercooked. Sent it back and it came back to our table perfect! The chef took the time to come out to our table and and explain how she prepared her salmon ( fresh off the boat from the Chelsea Rose). AMAZING We were a large family gathering of 16. We had a more secluded table area but we still had the fantastic view! Stacie was great getting us set up. She suggested 2 meat and cheese boards be at the table when we arrived. It was so welcoming when we got there. I wish I had preselected the wine too but they got it out very quickly. The cocktails were amazing too. We ordered 1 or 2 of everything on the menu and then ordered more of the things we really liked. Everything was really tasty. Some of our favorites were: Steak and Fries, Scallops, Salads, Oysters and Shrimp. These are all smaller portions and really work well with the way we all eat now. The service was fantastic! The total price came in much lower than I expected!! Great time was had by all and we will all be returning. read more

I was beyond disappointed and felt so humiliated. We had reservations for the Thanksgiving buffet in the lounge. Everything was fabulous!! The food was exquisite and the service was wonderful. We've eaten here for the Mother's Day buffet, along with two times for Wednesday burger night. All fantastic! Then my husband personally called to reserve a window seat for the boat parade. We were looking forward to trying their normal menu!! He specifically asked if you can see the boat parade from their windows. He was assured that you can. He then reiterated that we want a window seat. We get there and they had us in the lounge. We think they moved the reservation over and didn't change it to a window seat. Even though my husband reiterated it several times. Staci said she'd figure it out. She did, and we were sat. Our server was a sweetie (blonde hair and super bubbly personality). We ordered an old fashioned, a Riesling, and we ordered starters (the warm olives and the mushrooms). Then we WERE going to order the Steak Frites, the duck breast, the crab hush puppies, house ricotta and beets, and the brussel sprouts, and more drinks. That didn't happen. Everything was great... until Jen came out and said that she personally made the reservation seating and we were supposed to be in the lounge. That she made the map of it herself. We told her that no, we did that for Thanksgiving and that something must have happened and that we specifically requested a window seat. She stood there awkwardly and rubbed her forehead and said exasperatedly, "I'll figure it out". We have never felt so unwanted. We paid for our things and left. I won't stay where I'm clearly not wanted. There... you have your window seat back. If it was me, I would have called the customer (our phone number is tied to the reservation) and apologized and asked them to come back. I even told Staci what happened on our way out and that we were leaving because of what happened. Makes me sad, the food is wonderful. But to get treated that way, no thank you. read more

My wife, mother and I were notably disappointed with the Mother's Day Brunch. Service was poor from the moment we arrived - staff were inattentive, took unusually long to provide such essentials as silverware, and brought the wrong beverage order to the table multiple times. Having worked in restaurants previously, my impression was that they were understaffed and not slightly. There were a couple of nice items on the buffet (the pasta shells were delightful) but much of the offerings were more appropriate in quality and presentation for a free hotel breakfast bar than a $40 a plate holiday brunch. Furthermore, a number of the buffet items seemed quite out of place for a Mother's Day brunch; barbecue pork ribs and chicken tenders, notably, as well as the aforementioned pasta, delicious though it was. The last unpleasant surprise on the way out was also shocking: a previously-unmentioned mandatory 20% gratuity. Not only does a buffet meal require less service than a plated service, and not only was the service that was provided done poorly/incorrectly, but a mandatory tip for a party of three is so unusual as to feel extortionate. A star for that pasta and a star because the staff were at least kind. read more

We enjoyed our first experience here. The vibe and ambiance is so awesome, Newport needed this. We are local and for sure will be back. All the small plates that everyone ordered at our table were really good, food was exceptional. Our service was great! The bartender, Scott, was really engaging. We were pleasantly surprised that they had wonderful live music as well. The prices are a bit high, but forgot we got and the quality, we thought it was well worth it for a special occasion. Myril catered our family reunion for 38 this summer 2024. A wonderful experience for us all! Jen Gilroy is both a great chef and flexible organizer. She accommodated special diets, came up with creative and tasty meals, and has a fun and very competent serving staff that met our many needs. The ambiance is honestly a huge improvement from the previous restaurant but they left a lot to be desired on our two visits in the same weekend. They are clearly still working very hard to figure how to operate a restaurant. We will try them again in a few months and hopefully the kinks get worked out. Had just the best evening with my mom, sister and husband!!! I accidentally booked our reservation on the wrong date. We were hoping to take my 81 year old mother to see the boat parade. When I went back to change it- there was no availability per the online site. I sent a message regarding my mistake and they arranged to not only give us a table but one that my mom didn't have too far to get to and by the window so she could see. My mom absolutely loved our waitress-as we all did! My mom has a very limited palate and when looking at the menu I could see the look on my mom's face that she saw nothing she liked. I reassured her and we ordered a variety of small plates to share and she love every bite of everything!!! She even had 3 glasses of their house merlot!!! I haven't seen her do that in years!!! Been here 3 times now. The first time the food was super good, the second time not so much, the third time, it was decent. The first experience was the burger, the bananas foster French toast and the Myril's breakfast. All three were really, really good. The potatoes served with the Myril's breakfast were extremely delicious. The second visit ordered the same three things again and we we very disappointed. The bananas foster French toast was really burnt (both the bread and the bananas - and let me be clear here - it was burnt, not caramelized)), the burger was just not good, and the Myril's breakfast had completely different potatoes, which were not as good as the first time. I wanted to give them one more try so we went again yesterday. This time ordered the veggie scramble and burger. The veggie scramble had completely different potatoes yet again. It would be *so very nice* if they were consistent on their potatoes. These were sliced thin and layered and the ones in the middle weren't cooked enough. Very disappointing. The burger was good although the lettuce was a bit brown. The bacon is *delicious*. The veggie scramble didn't come with a biscuit which seemed odd but we got one on the side. The staff is nice. But the food can vary in preparation and quality which can be frustrating. The fries are really tasty. At least those form of potatoes are consistent. I'm giving the 4 stars due to our first visit and a bit of the third visit. The second visit was only 2 stars at best. I'm hesitant to try the French toast again but maybe I'll give it a go in the future. It seems like consistency is strongly needed but when the food is on point it's really good. But when it's not on point it's not so good at all. read more

Incredible! Loved absolutely everything about this cozy, hip, foodie gem. The setting right on the Embarcadero overlooking the marina at sunset was nothing short of magical. So many creative small plates to share and explore (don't miss the bruschetta!). The wine list offered unique options to create perfect pairing combinations for a delicious party in our mouths! Can't wait to go back to experience the cocktail vibe fireside in the swanky lounge. We just had dinner here and it was amazing. I loved the wide wine menu and the wide menu of sharing plates. The prices were better than I expected for this style of restaurant. Livia, our server was amazing and so attentive even though she was busy. We sat near the host desk and couldn't help but notice how quick they greeted their guests.
