It was about a 20 min drive the opposite direction to home, but it was absolutely worth it! The restaurant is cute . It has string llghts hung around, a store in the back, and a little nook at the end of the dining area, which we chose to sit in. My server, a young man, was very friendly and efficient. We ordered a cup of clam chowder, the mix (shrimp, cod, and scallop) plate (forgot the name of that) and a fish and chip. The clam chowder was super good. In fact, I think it's better than that other restaurant that claims the best in Oregon coast. lol The fried seafood, all of it, was breaded light and fried perfectly. Absolutely delicious. Over all, we had a nice time here. Service and food was great and I went back and confirmed to my foodie group that this place is in fact an amazing restaurant.

Ordered halibut fish and chips, Luna Sea combination plate and a small salad. Never saw the salad, but weren't charged, so a wash. Took our order and we never saw her again. Halibut was a little fishy, albacore was dry, but the salmon was really good. Portion sizes were good, but dry and fishy don't cut it. We saw lots of rave reviews, so we gave it a shot, but it's one and done for us. On the Hook fish and chips is significantly better, for less money, but it's a food truck. Still, better flavor and portions. Sorry Luna Sea, did not live up to the reviews.

The food was excellent -- as an Italian, I can be quite particular about pasta, and the seafood pasta was truly outstanding. The mixed fish grill was equally delicious and beautifully prepared. The chocolate mousse was also exceptional and the perfect ending to the meal. The ambiance, combined with the ocean view, completed the experience perfectly. A place we would happily return to!

We were told that Ona was the chef's restaurant and wanted to come check it out. Appearance - We recommend sitting outside on their patio. Since it was cool they had the heaters running and on warmer days they can open up the garage doors. Taste - I ordered the crab cakes and that is what is truly giving this a 5/5!! I wish I ordered more. They were so yummy! I also got a bowl of the clam chowder that was great. My husband ordered the albacore steak sandwich and said it had a large piece of fish with good seasoning but mentioned he wouldn't order it again. We happened to be there during happy hour and wanted to try oysters for the first time. Let's just say it was a taste of the ocean and will be our last :/ Oysters are just not for us! I've heard that oysters can be seasoned and spruced up to help add more flavor, but these were not. I wonder if it would have helped us enjoy them more?

Every plate tastes like it was prepared with pride, and every bite reminds you why coastal towns have such a loyal following. The hospitality is just as memorable as the meal. The staff makes you feel like a regular, whether it's your first visit or your fiftieth. Add in the option of relaxing indoors or enjoying the ocean air outside--where your four-legged companions are just as welcome--and you've found more than a restaurant; you've found an experience. If you're passing through Yachats, don't waste time wondering where to eat. This is the stop. In fact, your only problem will be realizing there isn't another place for miles that delivers this combination of incredible food, genuine hospitality, and laid-back coastal charm. Huge applause to the chefs, staff, and owners for creating one of the Oregon Coast's true hidden gems.

We got the seafood platter as an appetizer and it was so delicious! We got to try a little bit of everything. We were pretty full just off of that but got entrees. The ahi poke in the seafood platter was so good I had to get it as my main. The sauce was so incredible with fresh avocado. I NEED that recipe. I would come back to Newport just for the ahi poke bowl. My fiance got the dungeness crab mac and cheese and it was without a doubt THE BEST mac and cheese we've ever had. We are Mac and cheese connoisseurs so that says a lot. The sauce was so perfect and the crab was very generous. To top it all off I thought the post cards at the end were very sweet. I came to Newport when I was a child (maybe 7 years old) and I had lots of old memories that I relived on my trip. I sent one to my mom. Our waiter was absolutely lovely. We hope to come back one day!
