Food was good, service was good, ambiance was fine. I asked for appetizers suggestion and it was suggested that I get the beer battered spicy shrimp, and it was really good. Husband had fish and chips. He said it was good, not great!

This place is always so awesome! The food never disappoints! I had the meatloaf and my husband had the corned beef and cabbage and both were absolutely delectable! We try to come here whenever we're in Newport!

Guinness on tap. Bangers and mash. Lots of choices to fill a great evening with friends. Casual dining at its best.

This used to be a great place for a Ruben sandwich but not this time. The meat was not sliced thin. Meat were sliced in big chunks and too many grisly pieces. The cabbage was also in big chunky pieces that slid off. Best part of meal was the server whom seemed to be taking care of the entire restaurant. The restaurant is tired and needs a thorough cleaning. It's old and shows her age. Many never go back unless it changes.

Still one of my fave eateries on the Oregon coast! Since I looked forward to the meatloaf, I ordered to go which I would recommend to just eat in. Although that the food was precisely packaged it's better appreciated at the bar.

Excellent cocktails. Love their Scotch eggs and their side salad is actually really good! Love the vibe in here. Good traditional Irish comfort food!

Nana's is a pretty big restaurant with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Food- We got the Galway Cod au tu gratin and Shepherds pie. Both were pretty good. I would give the food 3.5-4 stars. There wasn't a lot of Cod fish (see pic). It was like 4 small pieces over the mashed potatoes. The sauce was yummy. The Shepherds pie is crusted with potatoes and not the flaky crust that they use for the chicken pot pie. The filling was tasty and we got a side of their homemade hot sauce, which is packed with flavor. Bread pudding and their in house whip cream 3.5 The restaurant is a bit older. You're pretty close to the next table. Our server was hard-working and busy.

Delicious EVERY time! Today, we brought the pups and even in 46 degrees, wind & rain, we were warm and dry in the covered section of the patio. Grateful for the fantastic service, great draft beer selection, delicious Irish fare, and the option to enjoy it all with our fur babies.

Lovely kid friendly pub with awesome Irish dishes. The waiter was great! He just shrugged his shoulders said kids and going to be kids when our toddler went goblin mode. I always wanted to try scotch eggs and was not disappointed. Crunchy, soft, addicting. The Guinness pie was full of gravy, veggies, and meat. It appeared as if it should have been a heavy dish but it somehow wasn't. Pie crust was flakey as - f. The corned beef was tender. I could have it every Sunday. I personally didn't love the carrots or cabbage that came with it. I can't describe the taste other than being strange. We ended with the bread pudding. We took it to go but I would advise eating it in house as you get fruit and more whipped cream. Was still good, I just have whipped cream envy.

This is more for myself but whenever I go I ask myself "have I tried the Reuben" now I have evidence and the answer for myself. The meat is delicious but a little dry. The cabbage is not too acidic so doesn't offend too much like sauerkraut in my opinion. I like the honey mustard instead of grain mustard. Call me a big child but I'm not a fan of mustard in general. I would probably order again but maybe do extra mustard or something to moisten it up.

After 15 minutes of wait and seeing other new tables being waited on we flagged down the girl buses a near by table. She went to get our waitress to come over and take our order. Limited beer menu; if you like Guinness they have back&tans half&half. We got an imperial 20oz beer rotating IPA. The beers were good. As for the food, I feel it was typical Irish pub fare.

Tonight I tried Nana's Irish Pub. It had great reviews and claimed to have Irish cuisine. I was not disappointed. I've eaten in quite a few places on the west coast that claim to serve Irish food and I have always been unsatisfied with the authenticity. So I was very surprised and impressed with the food served at Nana's. My experience started with the ambiance. It truly had the feel of a real Irish Pub. This was followed by the hospitality. Our server was amazing. She had great menu suggestions for the people who were eating with us. They have eaten a wide variety of Irish food. She made an excellent selection as to the Irish beer that would best suit my palate. They have several Irish beers on tap. I chose the Smithwicks Red Ale. It was delicious and very enjoyable. Now for the food. Many years ago I enjoyed Steak & Stout Pie in a Dublin Ireland pub. It was really good. I've had it in several locations here back home but it just wasn't the same. So when I spotted the Steak & Guinness pie it peaked my interest and I ordered it. Well I definitely was not disappointed. More so it was like reliving an old pleasant memory. The Steak & Guinness pie was spot on. Every bit as enjoyable as the one I tried in Dublin. I very highly recommend trying this establishment if you're traveling to or through Newport. You will not regret enjoying the food and the experience.

We wound up at Nana's pub because half of our party didn't eat seafood. I could not have been pleased! Everyone was able to order what they wanted and everything i tasted was really delicious! Mom had the chicken pot pie, i enjoyed the Cod au Gratin. Hubs opted for a salad and the birthday boy feasted on the meatloaf! Nana's soda bread is out of this world!! THE BEST i've ever had! The chocolate bread pudding was so delectable and yummy!! i'm not a huge fan of chocolate desserts sometimes - because they are heavy and/or dry. This was neither! this was the perfect chocolatety end to a fantastic meal! Service was friendly and attentive. We were there for a late lunch, so it wasn't too busy or too loud! We actually talked with a couple (or regulars) at the table next to us! Great place whether you live in newport or are just passing through!

Drinks came out and our server forgot the water that I asked for, my thoughts all good I'll just order more beer. When the food arrived I immediately grab a fry, sadly the temperature was slightly above room temperature. I'll add that it was early and the restaurant wasn't busy at all. The Brisket sandwich was luke warm and the flavors were that of a inexperienced grill master or chef, it tasted more like a smoked ham sandwich than a Smoked Brisket sando with my room temperature fries. But with much disappointment all of our food was cold. Why? Not busy @ 6:00 plenty of employees walking around, so no excuses! Our server tried to warm my Mac and Cheese guess the cheese got a lil burnt so covered it with more cheese product which didn't help with the warming process lol. @ $20.20 very dry didn't taste like cheese lacking flavor including what they called brisket. This place has been open for a few years you think they would have better quality food come out of the kitchen. Makes it hard to come back.

While there aren't a huge number of dining options in town, we never felt like we were settling. In fact, we looked forward to coming back each time. If you're a beer lover, you'll be in heaven. Their selection is extensive, with everything from crisp pilsners to rich stouts, making it easy to find something that suits your taste. The location is simply unbeatable. Nearly every table offers a view of the Pacific Ocean, and if you're lucky enough to grab a seat on the patio (my favorite spot), you're practically sitting on the beach. Watching the waves roll in while enjoying a meal is hard to top. Despite being incredibly busy, every server we had was friendly, attentive, and worked incredibly hard. The only minor downside was that the restaurant appeared to be a little understaffed. There were times when empty tables were visible, yet the wait was still 20-30 minutes. Honestly, though, we didn't mind. Any excuse to sit outside, people-watch, or simply stare out at the ocean is time well spent. The food was consistently excellent throughout our visits. We sampled the clam chowder, fish and chips, Backyard BBQ burger, cheeseburger, oyster shooters (both the Mignonette and Spicy Mary), and the cheese curds. My favorites were easily the clam chowder and the fish and chips--both were outstanding and exactly what you hope for when dining on the Oregon Coast. Even if beer isn't your thing, the cocktail menu is worth exploring. I ordered the Tsunami Warning, a refreshing blend of rum, pineapple and lime juices, ginger beer, and Pelican's Tsunami Stout. It's definitely a unique cocktail that won't be for everyone, but I'm glad I gave it a try. My biggest regret? Never saving room for dessert. Every time I saw one pass by our table, it looked incredible, but I was always too full to order one. That's just one more reason to come back. If you're visiting Pacific City, I highly recommend stopping by the original Pelican Brewing Company. Between the incredible oceanfront setting, excellent food and drinks, and welcoming service, it's a place that's easy to return to again and again.

There is no dedicated parking for pick up orders. The order was more than what is on the "take out" menu from their website. When I asked about the price increase she said it was a "surcharge." (Had a bit of attitude when I asked about it as well. I just paid it cause I didn't want to argue when there was a line of people.) There is NO MENTION of a take out "surcharge" and it shows up on the receipt as "tax." There is no state tax in Oregon or a city tax in Pacific City. The food was not a good value for the money. Lettuce wrapped burger was wrapped with brown lettuce. The coleslaw was like mayo soup. I will say the fish in the fish and chips were good and the ranch was good but that was it. There is a lot of room for improvement. Starting in the parking lot!

But if you…read morefancy a fabulous burger, other great food options, or maybe a cold craft beer, then Beachcomber might just be your spot. One thing to bear in mind is that this is still a BAR: that means no one under the age of 21 may cross the threshold. But, if weather allows, anyone of any age can sit outside. Beachcomber has several picnic tables set up, a few with umbrellas as they extended seating to the street, and that makes for a comfortable dining option in fair weather. There are a number of constant taps as well as seasonal/rotated local offerings. If you're an Untappd user, like me, then you can even check their beer options on the app ahead of time, or sign in while you're there so you can nerd out whilst enjoying your beer. I'm a sucker for anything malty, and when in a phenomenal beer-producing area like the PNW, then you will have plenty of Oregon/Washington choices. Fresh-hopped beer hits different when you're near the source. The burgers dot the menu, but do not miss the onion rings. These things are like beer-battered life preservers, so you probably will want to share because it's a HUGE pile of food. We've had burgers & other sammiches, but this past time I dove in for the highlighted Green Donkey. Well, 'we' dove in, because it's another enormous portion and sharing was the smart play. A marriage of beef & beans smothered in their queso and guac makes for a fantastic (albeit filling) lunch. I washed that down with a Pineapple Mana Wheat from Maui Brewing, a gently-hopped, light-bodied ale with that fruity finish. OK, so it's not 'local' but it is 'seasonal' and it's a great glass of bier. Service inside or out is quick and friendly, and they'll always offer a suggestion to fit your food or beer palate. I love doing local and Beachcomber represents that local anchor that is befitting of anyplace that has survived over three decades. You're on your own for parking, but there is a public lot a block or so away, plus you get a chance to window shop along the way. Beachcomber is 100% worth the stop, even if it's just to get off your feet, but enjoy the fare as well.
