Marc Stinsman did a great job of keeping me informed, sent a video of the mechanic going over the car and made sure repairs were done to my satisfaction. Car was washed and ready for pick up. He organized transportation to and from dealership for me . A gentleman named Lyn was my driver and he couldn't have been nicer. He is a gem for sure!! Mercedes-Benz Myrtle Beach we just had the most unprofessional awful rip off service I've ever encountered A coworker dropped off his BMW six series for a belt replacement for his air conditioning...... After charging $700 for miscellaneous stuff that he did not understand when he went to pick up the car, they did not even change the belt ... after agreeing there was some problem with communication. They want to charge him another $250 to put the belt on extremely unprofessional... Do yourself a favor and take your Mercedes or BMW anywhere but there... We did not have any trouble with Myrtle Beach Automotive (BMW and Mercedes Benz). We drove from St. Louis to Garden City Beach but we did it in two days (I do all the driving). We noticed that when ever we started up the car in the morning, a message would come up about checking the coolant. We had a free morning so we just drove into Myrtle Beach Automotive without an appointment. We pulled up, told them the problem and they took us right away. We didn't even have time to finish the coffee that we got from their coffee bar (they had bags of chips also). Would I come back here? If we have car problems when we are down here, yes. read more

What has happened to customer loyalty these days? I've purchased over $500,000.00 in cars from these guys and have sent countless referrals which includes my son. Recently, my business partner spent close to $200k there. I went online and saw they had two G63 wagons for a "Sale Price of $204,000.00." I reached out to the sales manager by email to confirm they had the unit in stock and that I was a buyer. He responded promptly stating. "I'm sorry, there is definitely an issue with our website feed. We have the G63 priced at $50k over MSRP." Aside from it being listed incorrectly one would think after decades of purchasing high end cars they'd sell the unit at MSRP and at best honor the "Sale price" online. I purchased 1 S580 from Millenia Mercedes in Orlando and they won't sell a previous client at over MSRP as part of a long history of loyalty to their clients. Part of creating a relationship with dealers is always with the hope that there is long time loyalty to those who commit to spending money at their stores. This stealership would have to improve to just suck. Three times and 8 thousand dollars to fix the same thing. Last time I picked it up there was still an error code on the dash. They said it would take two weeks to get me back in. Freaking emissions issues on my ML350 Diesel. Code was cleared by my personal OBD reader. Then the disable engine code came up. 1000 to fix. At least the code was gone and they gave it a wash. Got it home. Rear end damage. The electric connector was wiped out. Assholes. read more

I bought an 2013 BMW X3 28i, only had it for two weeks, as I was starting off one day it pop-up drive-train failure. Since I got the car with a warranty, I took it to my local BMW here in Myrtle Beach SC. After charging me a diagnostic fee of 135.00, I was told that I needed a new battery and the computer needed software dates at a tune of 845.00. I agreed but after all the work done, they wash the car before I was to pick it up. They said that when they tried to start it, it only clicked. had to try two more times before it would start. They told me it was the ICM acting up, they told me it was covered under my warranty. After waiting three days for the part to come in, only to be told that the push button had to be changed as well. Now after changing the button, they had to change the starter. When they finish with all the work, still had the problem with having to push the button more than once to get it to start. It was as the relay wasn't working but they said it was fine. It has been 11 days since I turn in the car for repairs. The Service guy called me this evening telling me they have done all they can under warranty and now They are asking me if I wanted to allow them to charge me for two or three hours of diagnostic fee to find the problem. Just pick up my BMW 2013 28I, It's now showing more code than you can Image, they claim the wire harness on the passenger side wire harness is causing the problems. I still having a drive train problem. but now having abs problem and no power to the car. I'm at a loss of words of how I feel., Just got off the phone with BMW NA, have a claim now against the local BMW, had to take the car to Ken Barker service center. I now have a payment due on the car, no problem, but a problem for the local BMW since the claim is moving up with BMW NA. waiting for from a claim adjuster. My warranty company is now looking into the service center. BMW NA told me to take the car to another BMW dealership for second opinion for the problem. OK, Here is the finally update to my car. Ken Baker called me to pick up my car, all items have been fixed. He told me after checking the wire harness, he did not find any water damage from a fluid line from the washer unit which is what BMW said was causing my problem. He found a ground on top of the transmission loose. After he fixed that problem, all issues went away. After checking the system again, he found a bad speed sensor on the left front, changed that out and he found a per fuse box shorted out due to the loose ground wire. This was on September 21.18. Well today I decided to go by the service center at BMW in Myrtle Beach, S.C. with my finding. I spoke with Bryan Rea the service manager. He looked over my paperwork from Ken Baker. He said he was glad my car was fixed but he stands by their diagnostic that it was a bad wire harness. I ask him to compensate me for the addition cost to fix the car, he again said he stand by his diagnostic of my problem. He also told me that my business was not welcome there no more. I ask him where I was suppose to go for service, he told me to go to Ken Baker. In closing, they charged me for reprogramming a cas module at $439.88 and a new starter button start and stop at $ 131.16 neither were done as charged.When I finally picked up my BMW x3 it was not safe to drive, it was so much worse then when it was brought in, I finally took it to Ken Baker service center, they found a loose ground wire and also found that the cas module was not properly programmed by BMW of Myrtle Beach and that also the Stop/start button was never changed,even though we were charged. Spoke with Bryan Rea on 10-3 2018 about the results of the repairs. He said he stands by his finding of his tech. He inform me that I'm not welcome there for service, he said his GM said I should go else where for service. I ask him to make this right, he told me that I was at my cost. I bought a 2006 MB SL55 AMG in December 2021 from MBA; part of the sales contract was that they would get me an owner's manual since there was not one in the car when I bought it. It is now 3+ months later and I have no owner's manual---when I asked, the answer was "The car was a 2006, what did you expect?" Well, I expect you to honor the conditions of sale which said you'd provide me a copy of an owner's manual, not belittle the fact that I bought an older car than your salesman thought I should! I will definitely never do business with this establishment again, and I would caution others---they may treat you great when you buy a brand new car, but otherwise they treat you like garbage even when it was "Certified Used" and they had said IN WRITING that I would get an owner's manual. Where I come from that is called LYING and you don't give them your business...nor give them the chance to insult you further. read more

Stay far away from this dealership if you value honesty! This is my third Mercedes, a 2017 that I bought brand new. It's broken down and had to be towed in twice. The most recent issue was a very scary SRS error, basically the driver side airbags stopped working! After two days in the shop, they called and offered me a loaner vehicle because it would be a while until my parts came in, they said. I went and picked it up, and had to drive straight to Greenville for a trip I had booked months prior. Then the loaner broke down!!! A brand new 2019 vehicle! It was Friday afternoon, so I called the dealership to ask them what they expected me to do. "Get a rental car and have that vehicle towed to another dealership". I did as they instructed, and it cost me $144 to get home. I presented them with the bill upon my arrival, and the cowardly service manager, Romano Marinaro, refused to reimburse me, and would not even come out and speak to me. I paid for the "B service" I had scheduled on my vehicle, picked it up, and left. I called and opened a case with corporate, only to find out that Mr Marinaro and the team at Mercedes Myrtle Beach DOCTORED my e-mail address is their system so I would not receive the survey email from Mercedes asking me how my experience was! Obviously they didn't want the higher ups to know how they treated a very loyal customer (until now anyway) so rather than face the backlash like actual men, they cowardly changed my email to silence me. I know the email was correct originally because I received my receipt via email from the dealership. I have serious concerns about if they even did the repair correctly now, since obviously I cannot trust them. I would STRONGLY caution anyone from visiting Mercedes Myrtle Beach- they take dishonesty to a whole new level. BEWARE! There are much better dealerships within an hours drive at BOB KING in Wilmington. He will take much better care of you, and he will even drive to Myrtle beach to pick up your car each time it needs service. I bought my very first Mercedes from him, and I will go back to him again, because he's honest, kind, and dependable. Everything that this dealership is not. ***also worth noting, their corporate office promised me Mercedes of MB would call me back within 24 hours, and they also told me that the service manager should have paid the rental car. The new car apparently has some kind of special warranty from Mercedes that pays back for the rental car, they just have to file it. So far I've heard absolutely nothing. No call, no text, no email. even though it would be free for them, they clearly have no intention of actually standing behind their brand. I have never been so mad at a vehicle dealer in my life (67 years old) as I was yesterday. Own 2017 Tiffin Wayfarer QW on Sprinter chassis and got the EGR valve replaced at Myrtle Beach Mercedes. Had problems here when I took it in to find it needed this part. Understand they have to order part but when they brought the motorhome to me to take home (I live in Myrtle Beach) until part was received it had about 6 inches of mud and grass attached to the exhaust pipes on the rear. They said field where parked was wet. I got mad but nothing like yesterday. After fixed and I got in to drive home I noticed everything that was on kitchen counter that was not velcroed down was on the floor. Immediately got service advisor and technician in the rv wanting to know what was going on and tec said he had to slam on brakes for cars in front of him while on a 26 mile test drive to make sure check engine light stayed off. The way things were thrown around front to back and side to side he did more then slam on brakes. Everything in the overhead cabinets was also thrown everywhere. Looked like he drove this $140,000.00 motorhome like a $100.00 beater car. I will never deal with them again and will take my business to Charleston or Wilmington,NC (approximately 100 miles)for a Mercedes dealer. My car was running perfectly with no issues no leaks. Took my BMW in for a recall issue only. Service department had all new faces since last visit. Had appointment and car was taken in quickly. Upon arriving I was told I needed a 4 wheel alignment at a special cost of $150. Car went to service and after 1 hour I saw it pulled out of work area. 30 minutes later I asked service advisor where my car was and he stated probably on a test drive. 30 minutes later again where is my car? I was told probably in the wash ( Why, it was raining that day). Finally saw my car being pulled around. I was never called and then was told they had to finish paperwork. Before leaving they showed me an estimate for suggested repairs. In addition to being slow and uninformed they wanted me to spend an additional $5600 on repairs I question are even needed. Car is a daily driver garaged every night with no leaks and no issues. All onboard computers say all is good. They tried to scare sell me once before for a head gasket and I took car elsewhere and was told not needed. Do not trust this dealership. They also bother the crap out of you for 5 star ratings after leaving. Phone calls and emails til u can't stand it. read more

Do not trust anyone at this dealership! They sold me a car with bad brakes that caused problems within hours of driving my SL550 off the lot. First they promised to reimburse me for the $1600 cost, then they said my local Mercedes dealership was scamming me, and that the brakes weren't bad. Then they said I should have contacted them sooner so that they could have expensed the cost as good will. (Even though I sent a video, and spoke to the general manager twice, as well as my salesman.) Now they refuse any responsibility. I also never received an email from the corporate office to rate their service, so I can only assume they altered my email, as they did another reviewer- Natasha- whom also had a bad experience with them. "Let the buyer beware". Please read this to understand why you might want to shop elsewhere. After the first, abbreviated review I placed on Yelp, the whole dealership presence at this address ( with the exception of the BMW) was removed. ( I had only reported my experience and suggested buying tips: there are different "version" of Carfax on any VIN, read every line of anything you are asked to sign, and get copies and watch them being copied, of anything you sign). Know that you will get immediately returned phone calls before you buy. If your experience is like mine, you can leave messages after the sale, to any department, and you will not be called back. Catching a person on the phone, live, would be your only chance of phone communication. In an email, you might expect that the content you have presented would be ignored and one issue misunderstood and twisted to "win" an argument. The certified pre-owned Mercedes-Benz I purchased from this Mercedes and BMW dealership advertised the car on line as both one and two owners. Turned out it was three and that it had been their own courtesy vehicle and they had been the first owner, unlisted on the Carfax the salesman had given me. I had called in to confirm the number of owners before I came in. They had the repair and servicing records, so the information was readily available to them. After closing, when the car was delivered, I was given another Carfax with their dealership logo on the ordered information and three owners stated. (As the courtesy vehicle for about 4500 miles there were how many owners, 70??) (I had assumed that the higher miles had indicated vehicles moved between dealerships). The sales manager tried to blame Carfax and the general manager sent me a copy of the two owner car fax with information of it having, additionally, been their courtesy vehicle, handwritten in, claiming that I had signed it. (Any pages could have preceded a signature if inserted ahead of a signed page). The problem with litigation is that damages have to be shown, to have made it worth your while to have gone to court. (And you would not wish for substandamages to have occurred). The courts could mandate that the car be returned in a situation like this and money refunded but you would also be "out" your attorneys fees. You can be pretty sure that this information is known by any dealership. It took 5 weeks before they electronically took care of documents to issue plates with the DMV. (I had made a point of giving them a copy, each step of the process, of my application from my previous handicapped plates, doctor's script on file, so that I could have that need fulfilled- my only reason in buying this car. {Placards are linked to plates}). The documents processer at the dealership, when I finally reached her in person (after three calls and waiting for call backs that didn't come) said that it hadn't been with the documents. Know that you have other choices of places to buy, and may choose, from reading the information in Google reviews, for service. read more

Be careful buying a Certified Mercedes from this dealership. They missed a bad rear strut which I heard rattling on my way home the day of purchase. Advised Certified warranty does not cover. Refused to help me with the $860 repair bill. A Certified Mercedes is only as good as the dealer inspection. If they had even driven the car they would have heard the rattling strut. read more
